I just came across this video and I wish I had seen it sooner. Thank you for making it and sharing!
Glad it was helpful! Version 1.5 of Lightburn will make this even simpler.
Wow! Can't wait to get to my craft room and give this a go!!! Thank you so much!
Have fun!
Thanks this video was helpful to even with my Ortur 2pro s2 with my YRR I HAVE SOME WINE GLASSES TO ENGRAVE.
THANKS STEVEN.
Great explaination.
Bro that was a brilliant explanation !

Great video Steve. I appreciate your teaching abilities. My first look at LightBurn was very daunting but you, Patrick and Rich are my go-to instructors!
What a great video!! You helped dumb the process down for me and it is so appreciated!!
Fabulous video and well presented. I just need to learn how to engrave glass now
Thanks. This math works for anything you're engraving on a cylinder. Tumblers, bamboo, etc. You may or may not have to account for the taper.
Thank you. You made an otherwise complex concept very simple to understand. And, more importantly, a concept we can employ in our own shops.
You're very welcome. Thank you for watching.
Good info Steve and great tutorial!
Thanks 👍
Hey Steve, Excellent video
Thank you.
I thought that was going to be difficult but the way you explained it seems fairly easy; I can't wait to utilize these tips.
I am a Bronze Patreon not for all of the free files and extra videos you keep sending our way, but because of the 100's of videos just like this one that helps me feel comfortable learning my hobby. Thank You.

LightBurn now has a Taper Wizard. I'll compare what you've done here and compare.
Thanks for sharing your specifics on location. Really helps.!
I released this video a few weeks before Lightburn released V1.5 with the new Taper Warp tool. I've tested it against my technique, the results were practically identical. The warp tool is doing all the same calculations. You simply have to input the variables. I have no proof of course, but part of me thinks Lightburn seen my video and created the calculator based on my theories. But it really just math.
Thanks!
Welcome! And thank you!
Hi Steve great tutorial!! I see that you did not mention anything regarding adjusting the rotary unit settings (rollers rotation)based on the tumbler circumference!
That is correct. You may need to do that with other machines. But I believe that since I'm using the median circumference, I measured where the center of the logo will be located, plus ask the other measures being taken you don't need to. The photo on the video thumbnail shows this works.
Where do you find the cheap coated aluminum cups that everyone uses to practice on?
Have you attempted this on a Glen Cairn glass where you have 2 tapers? I am in need of putting logos onto Glen Cairn Glasses and looking for a better method...
Does this method work for square or rectangular shapes?
Can you please tell us what coating you sprayed on the glass prior to engraving? I like the white but, I'm not sure what's the best way to get that look.
Andy my "Top Secret" glass prep is very difficult to use. I purchased it a year ago and I have hardly put a dent in my supply. Here is a link to the item I purchased. amzn.to/47GsyFC I get great success with this. You should know I have not had the same success with other similar products. After doing the research there are different types of adhesives. I have had the most success with Rubber Adhesives. What I really like is the ease of use. No drying time. Peal and stick. Straight to laser.
