Just got fitted for my Evolv AI 2000 hearing aids yesterday. We downloaded the Thrive app at the office at around 3:30 pm and set it up. I had about 85% battery level. By 7 pm the battery was down to 23%. I charged it over night and there was a warning on my screen from the phone that the thrive app should be deleted due to battery usage. After taking the phone off the charger for 1 hour the % went from 100 down to 83. Checked the battery settings on the phone and it said that that it would be dead in less than 10 hours. The Thrive app just uses up the battery quickly.
Hey Dave, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Somethings not right there. I’d ask for another set of hearing aids. Thanks for watching, Matthew
I recently purchase a set of the evolv AI2000. Really moressed with the sound quality. But, be careful if you’re using the custom fit devices. They are slippery and they can easily slip from your fingers. Today one finally got away and dropped on my lamp table. Not only did it come apart, the plastic cracked down through the main body. I’ve worn these type of custom fit devices for nearly 60;years and have never seen any that were so fragile. Starkkey, I paid 3400.00 for these, you really need to update these with today’s technology. Sorry for my demeanor, but it’s exasperating when I have to go a week or more with out hearing. I’m sure it’s going to happen again.
Hey Michael, I'm sorry to hear that you've experienced this! It's awful going through this and being without your hearing. Perhaps your audiologist will loan you a hearing aid in the meantime? Matthew
I just got a set of Evolv AI hearing aids and I love them so far, I really need to test some of the parts of the app. Thanks for the information, and I will keep you up to date on how things are going.
Matthew thank you for your fantastic, informative video. Im waiting for my new Starkey Evolv AI 2400 aids to arrive and was quite impressed with your update on this model. Hopefully the aids will exceed my expectations, I'll report back to you on my views once I've tested them out. Thank you again.
Getting ready to see a starkey specialist Monday and hopefully I can get rid of this tinnitus or make it better. Thinking of buying a open box of the 2400 on eBay and having them set them up for me. Your information was a huge help, I was so confused on the hearing aid thing, This will be my first par as I am new to this. Thanks for a great video on the starkey brand.
Can you legally do that? It's the equivalent of sharing pills it's tailer made for the person who needed it and if anything goes wrong we'll let's hope you don't cross that bridge
I got my Evolv AI , today and they are awesome the Best I've ever had.. However my insurance company pay for them.. They are expensive..I love them so Natural sounding ,first thing I did was play the piano and it sounds great...yes I would buy them again....
I feel I need to share my story about Starkey... I am 57 and have had Starkey aids for about the last 40 odd years... Always been brilliant for me hence sticking with them... However, my last aid packed up so wanted to get it repaired, and get a Evolv 312 made...non rechargeable, as a recharge hearing aid fills me with horror! So, Starkey made a aid smaller than requested by my audiologist, Starkey jump the gun without discussing it with my audiologist, and him with me... I always need a vent as I have small ear canals, despite the aid having a vent, I felt a total airblock... We tried for next size up, same problem... That's when I noticed looking at the vent and speaker of the new aids, they were swapped round compared to my older Starkey aids I have in my possession... Also Starkey no longer refurbish any aids older then 5 years old... My audiologist told me out of all the aid manufacters, Starkey is giving him the most problems with unsatisfied customers! So, end of four plus decades of me wearing Starkey... Now have a Phonak aid and it's been brilliant so far! If Starkey had not changed the default positioning of the vent and speaker, I would probably still be wearing Starkey...
There are a lot of neat features described, but the big questions is.. How much is this gonna cost? I imagine all those add-on devices at end will cost extra ...
Prices from our database of active retail prices indicate the Evolv costs somewhere between $1,700 - $3,700 per device. Updated prices can always be found here www.hearingtracker.com/hearing-aids/starkey-evolv-ai

You said the Evolv line has Bluetooth and the only requirement is that the device have Bluetooth 5 and Android 10. Everything I can see online points to an additional requirement: ASHA support, which greatly trims the list of compatible phones. Also the heart rate tracker - is that only in the 2400? Same with the transcribe feature - I did test Livio 2000 and could never get it to work...
Just had a hearing test at the VA and I'll be receiving the Evolv AI 2400 in about a month. My question is: As long as my android phone is ASHA compatible, is there any difference between using these hearing aids with an iPhone vs Android? Any benefit the iPhone has that an Android won't have?

I have the 2400s which now have the completely hands-free audio on iPhone to which you referred in your most helpful video. However, the hands-free option only works with iPhone 11 and later. I'll be upgrading my iphone from an XR and would like to know whether this would also work for the SE2022, given that the SE range is a cut-down, more affordable, fewer-featured phone. I purchased a pair of top of the range Evolv had for around 3 months. One was sent back 3 times and final straw was getting back and within 12 hours it broke again. Returned both the only good thing was the refunded the nearly 3k I paid. But the hearing aids were very very poor.
I’ve had my 2400’s for about one year through the VA. Initially, I had a seamless bluetooth connection to the Thrive app, but I have trouble with one or the other unit connecting multiple times daily. I try turning on/off, bluetooth on/off, phone on/off…nothing seems to help. Where do I go from here?
Many thanks for this I have ordered a pair of AI 2400 and look forward to getting to grips with them. One question I have is there appears to be so many features on the Thrive app it would be really good for Starkey and it’s users to have an in depth access to the pro’s and cons of each feature to ensure the optimum user experience is managed, or does this already exist?
Hey Marvin, that's a great point. I personally tend to get to know and understand the needs of my patients and expand on the features that are specifically important to them. So it's really down to your audiologist. Failing that TH-cam or the user manual! Thanks for watching, Matthew

Not a problem for me. The antenna lies and hides happily in the contoured part of the more external outer ear, pointing to behind you. That very thin thing is maybe 1 or 1 1/4 inch long. 99.9% invisible to others unless you tell them. And very easy to pull out.
I've had my Starkey hearing aids for six months. I've had nothing but problems, and yes I have called text support and gone to my hearing professional. Some of the problems have been as followed, will not pair to my Bluetooth, when watching videos on TH-cam Sound comes through one ear and then the other and back and forth. Batteries run down at different rates along with other problems I have spent $6,000 and should have tried a pair off the internet for $200 to see if they are worth the money. Don't waste your money

I agree. Bluetooth connectivity is weak. Listening to an audiobook with my iPhone in my pocket results is annoying breakups. As hearing aids, excellent.

Hey Elaine, thanks for taking the time to comment. The colors are all outlined in the video. Thanks for watching, Matthew
How is it possible that technologically advanced hearing aids have a bad bluetooth connection?
Great question and I hope a manufacturer can jump on and answer! Thanks for watching, Matthew
I agree. Bluetooth connectivity is weak. Listening to an audiobook with my iPhone in my pocket results is annoying breakups. As hearing aids, excellent.
@@RonLego With the latest firmware update, the situation has improved a little, then to improve the bluetooth connection a bit, put the iPhone in your pocket with the screen facing outwards.
@@riccardofermi6265 Thanks. My audiologist just updated the firmware but also sent my hearing aids back to Starkey to have them thoroughly test and examine the aids. Hoping they come back much improved.
As far as hearing aid goes statkery hasn't gone any further than halo. Anything else is just air. I live just few miles away from their headquarters. I signed up for a research group. They dropped me off. B/c they have nothing new to help me. This is just a hype!!!
Hey Michael, thanks for the feedback. It’s always good to hear back from end users. Fortunately my patients have found big improvements since the Halo days. Thanks for watching, Matthew
You have to be kidding a hearing aid at $3800 per ear, that's stupid beyond words.
Hi David, where does it say that? Matthew
@@HearingTracker My audiologist Starkey aides.
I bought Starkey Evolv AI and they didn't work, the techs couldn't fix them and they wouldn't give me a refund within 30 days. Terrible, terrible experience. Don't buy them! They don't stand behind them at all.
Hablan español
hola. Los audiofonos?
Speaking : too fast
Worst company do not buy their hearing aids.
Is it possible to get an American to talk about this without the accent! Not real thrilled with the ones I just received. This doesn't help.
Seriously? He gave a tremendous amount of information in this video and, although I'm in Idaho, I don't have any trouble understanding Matthew.
Thanks for the feedback David, Matthew
American….like someone from Texas, or Boston?
@@curtlizzi3167 Or New York or Alabama or maybe he would prefer some one with an African American accent?
Hey Bill, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS TURN ON THE CAPTIONS WITH A FULL SCREEN. Hope this helps you in the future!
