I currently have a pair of Starkey Evolv AI and a pair of Phonak Lumitys. Both are top tier technology from the VA. I don't wear the Phonaks at all unless I'm going to hear someone speak and I can have them wear the Roger On remote microphone. They both lack in noisy environments.
I’m wearing Signia HA that are 4 1/2 years old. Loved them until Signia changed their app. They eliminated the Cafe setting, one that was most valuable to me on a daily basis than any other. I have dinner in an extremely crowded, noisy dining room every night in Senior Living. My audiologist carefully programmed each selection I could choose on the app. It seemed a miracle that I heard each person at a table for four so clearly while also unaware of clatter of both clearing of the next table or din of noise from so many voices. Socializing during the meal is an important part of each day and shouldn’t feel exhausting after struggling to hear while also having to guess what was said or questions directed at me. Signia changed their app, eliminating the most important setting I had on the app on my iPhone. Their “noisy” in no way replaced their “Cafe” setting. Otherwise I found “live music, recorded music and particularly musician” worked so well for my life.
Hi, the following is taken from your discussion of the the MARIE receiver by ReSound. You state: "Resound boasts that by having this extra microphone in your ear canal ......They claim that this improves sound localization by around 15% when compared to omnidirectional BT mic microphones, and about 10% when compared to the hearing aids that provide pinner compensation." Would you please explain what "pinner compensation" is? I Googled the term on the Internet and could not find anything that connects this term with hearing aids, sound or audio. I really like your video. As a matter of fact I made a copy of the transcript and am going through it line by line in an effort to thoroughly understand the hearing aids featured in the video. You do a really cool job and I appreciate that. Thanks! Dan
I recently purchased a pair of Phonak Naida Lumity L90 UP BTE hearing aids due to my hearing loss is in the severe to profound category. So far I really like them. I also purchased the Roger-On personal listening device. I really like this little device! I love the fact it streams my TV programs straight into my hearing aids and I have used it some in a public venue to aid in being able to capture someone speaking at a distance. I am getting approx. 9-11 days of battery life with the 675 button cell batteries. This includes quite a bit of TV streaming as well as watching TH-cam videos. I’m truly hoping they will continue to serve my needs for many years. Thank you for your informative videos too! 👍
Ahhhh, Gary thanks for sharing and for taking your time out to comment. I LOVE the difference that Roger can make for those with a severe to profound loss. I'm delighted that you're getting on well with it. Have a super day, Matthew
Thank you for the review and education of hearing aid types which is most excellent. I have both conductive and sensory hearing loss since childhood. Never wore hearing aids. My brief trial of ha's put me off 5 years ago as I do not like things in my ear canal and the background noise confuses the conversation in front of me. I am now with tinnitus that is getting loud, left greater than right(it bounces to one side to the other). Any way, I've come to the late stage of my years to finally get hearing aids. Your video is most helpful to me to have a conversation with my audiologist next week. Sign me as a young 72! Denise
I just found this video. I really appreciate your detailed discussion of so many different features. Thank you. Right now, I have 4 year old Starkey EarQ RIC hearing aids which I wear when I'm going to be around other people. I live alone and don't bother with them when no one else is around. They are comfortable and help some, but not in noisy environments. I had to send one in for warranty repair when it went dead after about 2.5 years. My audiologist is 1000 miles away because I have moved since getting them, so he was not able to resync the HA's after the repair. That is somewhat of an inconvenience, but they still help. Before the EarQ's I got Starkey's IIC as my first HA's. The shell began flaking after a couple of years. Starkey repaired (replaced?) them under warranty. They blamed cleaning the HA's with alcohol wipes, which the HIS had told me to do daily to remove wax. The replacements fell apart after a couple more years. Now my insurance will help buy new HA's. I am looking forward to Bluetooth and (I hope!) better hearing in noisy places.
I wear the Jabra Enhance Pro 10 and have had them for several years. I love them. They work very well for my (non-challenging) lifestyle. I've been wearing HAs for over 20 years and have owned a number of different HAs during that time. I have no complaints about these Jabras, in fact, I love them and have recommended them to others (I know there is a newer model available). I enjoy your excellent posts; have recommended them to a number of HOH people! Thank you, Matthew!
Hi Matthew, Just today started trying out Signia Pure Charge & Go 7 IX RIC, which I wear on left ear only. In 10 days or so, I will compare it with a Widex Moment RIC (not sure which one, but highest technology level). At just shy of 26 min, you mention, "I do, however, have individual reviews for each hearing aid that I'm discussing today, which I'll link in the description of today's video, and I would without question recommend you watch as I go into a lot more detail than I'm going to now." I do not see any of these reviews, but especially the two I will compare. How can I access the fuller reviews? Thanks! Steve Colburn
New to the realm. Tried a couple of the Costco RICs and do not like what I perceive is a loss of directionality with the microphones behind the ear. I tried a couple of OTC in the ear and liked the operation but not the lack of a custom fit and lower level of technology. So today, I am going in to get fit for the Costco Philips Custom ITE (probably half shell). My concern is the dated technology (based on the Hearlink 9030s). Is anyone aware of release dates for any of the newer Costco Custom ITE hearing aids? Any help (or feedback for the above) would be greatly appreciated.
@HearingTracker Thank you for your quick response. I have done custom ear molds and can't go back to one size fits many. That being written, cost. Where I live, Costco has the best price. Not even close. They are 1/2 the price of the competition and hearing aids are not covered by insurance. We are talking thousands difference in cost for Custom ITE hearing aids. So Costco it is.
I don’t wear hearing aids but my brother wears behind the ear. I am a product designer at university and starting to do research into hearing aids for my final year project. This hopefully will give me a good start!
Hi, thanks for your video. I currently use Signia Pure 13 BT 7px, which I have had for 6 years and got on with very well. Especially when using the app and the directional hearing part. I have severe hearing loss and my biggest problem is noisy social situations (can only hear the person facing me using the directional bit) . I have trialled the Signia IX and although the sound is good generally I haven’t found much difference in social situations. I will send them back and try the Phonak Sphere Infinio I 90
@@HearingTracker I most definitely will. I’ve narrowed it down too the Philips 9050 or the Jabra Pro 20, just need to see a comparison between the 2. Thanks
Hey there, they're lacking certain features to make it into my best hearing aids for 2024. However they are a solid option. Check out my full review if youre keen on them. Matthew
I am currently not wearing hearing aids, but will be very shortly. Because perhaps of my location - CT, I have been introduced to the Jabra Enhance pro 20 (COSTCO) and the Rexton Reach ( tie in from Medicare provider). I was hoping that you would have a comparison of the two! In case it matters, I have significant high frequency loss in the 60-70 range.
Can I become a patient of yours if I live outside the USA? I currently have the Phonak Audéo L90 - RL. I am constantly getting feedback on the left hearing aid. I have tried a bunch of different domes and no difference. Would you be able to do a remote call though the Phonak app to adjust them?
@@lindaburnsherman9420 I’m still getting used to them. I have an appointment with my Dr. to do some adjustments. Speech is muffled so I’m really hoping it can be corrected.
I am wearing phonak ite titanium. The left should decrease sound but doesnt if i click until i hear a double vhime i can hear same ss right ear. Is this the way it is designed
This having been put on TH-cam on or about June 15, 2024, I presume that it does not address the Philips HearLink 50 (9050) release upgrade to the HearLink 9040.
Hey musicantd, it doesn’t you’re right. But I have 3 vids that do… here’s the first: The NEW Costco Philips HearLink 9050 Hearing Aids: Costco Hearing Aids Feature Review! th-cam.com/video/hku5NJ1umIE/w-d-xo.html
I am a high school band director and mix live bands. I am getting hearing aids for the first time in October. Any opinion on the best hearing aids for my situation? I'm interested in having what I hear be accurate to the room so I can adjust what I am hearing with confidence that I am adjusting it for others in the room appropriately. I'm also curious if hearing aids will enable me to hear the highest frequencies over 15Khz.
I see you have no replies yet. I don't think any models amplify much above 10 kHz and most only to 8 kHz. Do some googling research on birding as well as music because some bird songs are above 10 kHz, and you may find helpful information. My hearing aid experience is limited to some older Rextons and some Lexie Lumens which don't have anywhere near the fidelity of my Bluetooth StudioPro wireless headphones. I am looking for the same information you are in preparation for buying new hearing aids.
One problem i had with other Hearing Aids I have had was i need so much Amplification to hear some sounds that everything is Amplified so I am not able to hear tones of sounds and where they are coming from and it is just sounds in my Hearing Aids that they pick up somewhere so it is not easy to identify sounds for me.
I am wearing oticon minirite receive in canal I’ve had it for 4 years and it’s continually shutting down I was told by audiologist it has to be replaced I’m upset because they are expensive. I can only wear one hearing aid because of multiple surgeries on my other ear. I also have a really tiny opening in canal of the ear I need the hearing aid it’s very difficult to get the aid in there
I listen to classical music and over the years have had the top CIC models from Starkey and now Phonak. Sadly I feel the calibre of sound is not up to the standards I would hope for and I generally take them out when playing my piano or listening to music in my car. My phonak titanium is especially irritating because it keep automatically changing programs so now the car noise is louder than the music for example, even when I put them in 'music mode". I thought of getting the Lyric but have heard they lack in bass and then I'm stuck with that deficiency. Do you recommend any brand specifically for music?
To stop it changing programs, set up the program you want and then turn off bluetooth in phone. Stops hearing aids from hunting the bluetooth all the time.
Currently researching for my mom! She had an aneurysm and ear surgery about 12 years ago and her hearing has been declining since. Bursted ear drum. In her left ear. Doc said hearing aids would make her hearing decline faster but it’s been affecting her conversations. She’s a hairdresser so listening is critical. Anyway, thanks for these videos! Not sure which pair would be good for her yet. Hopefully with some more research I can find a suitable option for her. Right now I’m looking at the new Sonys and the Lexie b2 plus ones
As a recent stroke (TIA) patient, I now suffer from severe tinnitus in my right ear consisting of a 24/7 high pitch frequency affecting my balance and, as my otolaryngology doctor explained, my brain's ability to divert from the constant high pitch frequency as well as moderate hearing loss, which he described as unable to hear the right side of a piano key board since this is all completely foreign to me, which that analogy helped met to understand. Since all hearing aid costs will be out of pocket because in the US most insurance companies don't cover hearing aids, I would appreciate any expert advice you could provide as to which hearing aid would help with the tinnitus as this is what is affecting my quality of life at a detrimental level, as I consider the hearing loss secondary at this point. I have been reviewing your videos and have not come across any yet specific to treating tinnitus. Thank you kindly for any additional information you can provide.
My wife has had severe hearing loss in just one ear all her life. She is only now willing to wear a hearing aid. She needs only one and has been looking at the Oticon Intent 1, but we have chosen to see another Audiologist due to pricing and wanting to see other options as well. The previous Audiologist only dealt with Oticon. That being said, my wife loved the Intent 1. She tested and was told 105 power level was what she needed, but 100 was good enough and didn't require the unsightly custom mold. What is the best option for 1 ear hearing aid needs with her extent of loss? How do they compare in price to the Intent 1?
Had a pair of behind the ear hearing aids, 5 years ago, and found them uncomfortable due to the fact that I now have to wear glasses all the time. They were in the $4000 range. What are my best choices for inside the ear devices. High range sounds are gone and background noise makes it impossible to hear a conversation, for example in a restaurant.
I realize everyone's hearing loss is very unique to individuals but Is there one hearing aid that you would recommend for a person with very significant hearing loss that may be attributed to some kind of nerve damage and/or stroke (85 years old)?
I have Phonak & they work perfectly, however just diagnosed with Endolymphatic Hydrops. The tinnitus is one of my top 3 issues. Is there a hearing aid that will help? Also, I am extremely sound sensitive during an episode & would love a volume control button. Thanks :)
Hey there, I’m sorry to hear that! However, your wish is my command: Comparing The Best Hearing Aids For Tinnitus 2024 th-cam.com/video/n9pWZZyBPrc/w-d-xo.html Matthew
You are pretty intune with what is coming down the road for new hearing aids. I mentioned earlier that I prefer Phonak and am waiting for their Lumity custom coming out. Have you heard any news on when they might come out?
It's all very well telling us to find an independent audiologist with a wide range of products. That may be possible in London but in our town all we have is Boots, Specsavers and one independent who has a very limited choice. Nearest larger towns have one or two independents but they also have very limited ranges. What are we supposed to do when there is no choice?
Since you kindly asked what your video channel followers wear - I wear but not as regularly as should be - Resound Omnia 9 with M&RIE receivers in the ear. So far missing technologically only Bluetooth LE w/ associated Auracast. Do you think Matthew that I need to upgrade or use Omnia 9 for a few more years before go for even more technology w/ my HA. Just so you know, I have a typical for my age of 76-yr a mild hearing lost at low frequencies, moderate at mid-range frequencies and severe at high frequencies. Looking forward to hearing from you, much appreciate your input. Like many others who shared their experience - the inability to understand rather a need of amplification of hearing sounds is my hearing problem as well. And not only due to the fact that English is not my mother tongue.
Hi Kenvik, your ReSound Omnia 9 hearing aids are at the same level as the other products that are just came out. ReSound is not as wide spread as other manufacturer and therefore has a smaller market share but is also a decent hearing aid manufacturer. The most important is to use the hearing aids for more than 10 hours a day (on a daily base) and then it comes the technology that does the rest. In 3-4 years it might be a good time to upgrade your hearing aids to the latest technology.
Not sure what Bluetooth my Rexton’s use but it’s not compatible with the streaming devices to connect to aircraft video streaming yet it works with my iPhone/ipad .
What would really enhance hearing is a directional microphone, companion to the hearing aids, allowing to point to a speaker. The problem with hearing aids remains overall surrounding noise. In a family or group discussion, the aid user typically gets isolated as he just hears indiscriminate noise and gives up the conversation. Please do a video demonstrating such directional microphone and it’s benefits.
My last Hearing Aids were Siemens Ultrapower and now my Audiologist had Oticon Exceeds behind the ears because they have the most Amplification possible now and are supposed to be better to hear Speech with background sounds around me.I only get one kind of Hearing Aids but he showed me with his fingers that my recievers would be a lot bigger than his Sample because I have so much Amplification. Newer Hearing Aids have more Power and Amplification possible than other Hearing Aids I had and other ones I had did not have Bluetooth to connect my phone and tv and iPad pro to my Hearing Aids so I can hear it better with just the sounds i need to hear sent to my Hearing Aids and I can Amplify it more that way.
Interesting and informative video. Thank you. My current Phonak Ric aids require the wearing of a separate device to connect aids to cell phone. There was also A Phonak app that could be used to adjust them. All well and good. However, my newer phone is not compatible with the app, and the newer app isn't compatible with the aids.
@@HearingTracker currently, a Oneplus 8 Pro. The current Phonak app lists the aids it is compatible with but mine do not appear. Tried it anyway, but it didn't work and then the phone locked-up. The old HTC 10 ran the older Phonak app that was compatible. But it got so slow and was incompatible with later apps in general. So now I have to carry two phones, one as a glorified remote control and the other as a phone.
I have a behind the ear hearing aid but find it difficult to make it subtle as I am bald so cannot match my hair. I am therefore intrigued by the thin models
Hey Jurigos, thanks for reaching out. I can confirm that there were no sponsors for this vid. Each manufacturer was compared for their individual tech, for you guys watching to come to your own conclusions as to which is the best tech for you. I hope this helps. Matthew
I have yet to find a hearing aid center that operates on a text only basis. I have had more than one appointment cancelled because I can't hear on the phone.
Signia pure charge and go IX 5. Tried the Resound Nexia but didn't like the tinny streaming sound (didn't even sound better with custom molds and activated "bass boost"), the M&Rie-receiver sounded bad and i found the app a bit too laborious.
These videos are great. I'm a current wearer of Oticon Real 3 RIC with replaceable battery. In general I like them. They have been an enormous improvement over my past Anthem XT RIC (Starkey). I hear so much better in restaurants and noisy environments. I also love how they have returned my hearing of the sounds of nature so well. They do this with almost no wind noise on windy days. I tried Jabra Enhance Pros and they failed with wind noise and didn't work as well in restaurants. They were also terrible for phone calls, actually unusable for both myself and the caller. With the Reals I am also now able to hear television programs without assistance for the first time in years. The place where they are not so great is the sound quality for music. It's a bit tinny and tends to distort with louder high frequencies like from violins. OTOH, I have no issues with feedback like I did in the past. I also like that I am never accidentally changing volume settings when adjusting my eyeglasses. That used to happen all the time.
I was wearing phonak and then I lost them when I took a trip to NYC last year. I took them out on the airplane and put them in my bag, when I got to the hotel, my bag was open, my hearing aids were gone. I went to the VA today for an audiology appointment, they’re replacing them with the resound nexus rie micro
I do as well! Love being able to connect to my computer, tablet or phone. I have tried Starkey Genesis, big disappointment in regards to BT on Android. I am evaluating the Signia, love the battery life but BT is not near as capable. Waiting to see what Phonak does for Auracast.
@@waynekosters1814 I don't connect mine to the TV, I use an Avantree Orbit Pro with Aftershotz Open Comme headset. Much better than TV connect. My aids are connected only to my Zfold5 cell.
I'm a new user of hearing aids.. I have moderate hearing loss, and had Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss five months ago, so in one ear I have a reverse slope AND a "normal" "ski slope" loss of both high and low frequencies; in the other ear I have typical hearing loss of high frequencies that primarily comes with age. I am wearing Widex Moment because I'm a classical musician, and this has a much more natural sound than the Phonak Audéo that I tried for a couple of months. I also needed a hearing aid that would allow me to balance the volume of my own singing voice with the singing voices around me. It was a huge investment, but essential to my profession. However, neither was very helpful for hearing conversation in a noisy environment. I hope I made the right decision for the long term.
Hey Sophlet thank you so much for sharing. I think that this will be invaluable for anyone watching today's video and looking into the right tech for them. Matthew
I have a pair of the Kirkland 10.0 made by Phonak my favorite and I pair of Oticon Real 1s my next pair will be Phonak I believe they make the best ones.
@@bolafsonI absolutely love them, no issues at all. My AuD did a great job programming them. Only issue is that I once messed up the programming because I used the app AI Assistant and that changed the programming. My AuD had to reprogram them and fine tune them once. Battery life is about 34+ hrs with heavy streaming and answering calls for my work day. They are not the greatest in windy environments or in the car while driving with windows open. Is any hearing aid good with wind?
I am looking at replacing my 4yo ReSound RIC hearing aids which have served me well. Up until watching this channel I was fairly certain on the new Oticon Intent. However, as usual the hearing aid market is an absolute minefield when it comes to getting reassuring advice. Depending on where you source your information can continually sway you from one brand to another. Matthew seems to be unbiased and informative, but he hasn’t convinced me that the Oticon won’t be an expensive mistake. Totally confused!!
@ I ended up buying the Jabra Enhance Pro from Costco. Half the price, great service from Costco and two months in I’m very pleased with them. Their app works well and I also purchased the TV streamer which is a godsend for me.
I also just found this video, very informative well presented but too much info to digest in one video. Did become clear that I have to hunt to see what top brand best suits my hearing loss as this seems to be the determining factor of what may work best.
I currently use Rexton RX . I chose the rechargeable which is slightly larger and is sometimes uncomfortable behind one of my ears. I use closed domes and I find them near trouble free and don’t get wax into the wax guards. One thing I find important is how invisible the wire is and my previous aids wires would cut across and not follow my ear shape. The RX do a great job of that. Wind noise while driving a convertible car is a problem. I also would like to be able to adjust them from my Apple Watch . I would chose a slimmer style for comfort. I also have one program that mutes the aids which I love when using power tools or on an airplane as the streaming still works when muted . I was quite happy with a 312 battery aid as it was just once a week event.
Right now I'm wearing Phonak hearing aids. I have tried Resound, but want' not impressed. I wear custom hearing aids because I can't wear behind the ear hearing aids. I'm waiting for the next release of Phonak custom hearing aids. My current Phonak hearing aids are over 6 years old. Nothing but bad experiences with Oticon. So, waiting for Phonak to update their custom hearing aids. To be clear, my ears are not made for wearing behind the ear hearing aids. There is not enough room for the hearing aids, and my glasses. I also wear hats and that is an issue also. Thanks for your videos. I'm not getting alerted when you upload a new video.
Hey Garrison, I've just seen this so don't worry about my reply on the other video. Phonak aren't quite due an update yet for the in the ears if history is anything to go by, but we can keep our fingers crossed that something comes out in their future RIC launch. Matthew
I might be looking for replacement HAs, but my criteria has advanced to a) hearing my wife speak from tje other room and b) hear my own voice when I sing in a group.
A) is not a realistic expectation, you should always be in the same room, looking at each other faces, and having each others attention for ideal communication If you want to talk to each other from different rooms it would work better with a phone call /walkie or talkie / text etc B) depending on your hearing loss perhaps custom molds would help for greater occlusion or if not, using your finger to plug one ear is a technique I see a lot of singers do. Or custom in-ear monitors.
I hated disposable batteries! If you sweat (I live in Texas and play golf year round) hearing aids stop working when moisture gets near battery so you have to open battery compartment to dry out battery. Love rechargeable!!!
Phonak lumity life w/custom titanium ear molds. Through the VA. An high frequency hearing loss. Might try ITC next time I need new ones. Maybe half shell. Glasses an masks with Ric aids are a pain. Bluetooth is not a deal breaker. But I figure in 3-4 years. It'll be common in all styles I believe. Took forever for any audiologist to get me custom ear molds. Personally like them so much better. Would also like a choice of crazy load colors.
I ended up getting phonak through the VA. I ended up losing them a year ago. Went to an audiology appointment today and he told me that all I had to do was let them know and the warranty would’ve covered replacements. He went ahead and replaced them the resound nexia micro. It’s going to take a few months to get them though.
I have phonak marvel, but im soon to replace these. Its interesting what you mention about battery, when i got these almost 6 years ago they'd last around 21 hours. How they're down to just 8 hours. I have sevear hearing loss and worn aids since 2009 when i was 25 due to octocelorosis. Phonak have researched that the average wear time is only 13 hours and their new sphere only last 16 which they feel is fine as it's higher than the average wear time. For me i need aids which last all day, i cant have a convo or go anywhere without them. The sphere seem amazing in background in noise but phonak are blind in thinking 16 hours is fine as whose who have mild hearing loss are less likely to benefit from them vs sevear losses. I would love to see a review into the intent vs the infino (non sphere) along with conparisons to signa and widex. These are what im considering.
I would love to see a direct comparison of the Rexton -Reach R-Li-T vs Jambra Enhanced Pro 20 now that the Reach is out for several months. I did go with the Rexton Reach. (I'm still in my Costco return window and I getting really close to ditching this brand) Sound quality is good. Has some interesting features. However, The Bluetooth connectivity is spotty and I still have to hold my phone to speak to my phone customers....This is a true drawback! I like the idea of hands free but I also want the ability to turn that off when I leave the work site and still have the hearing aids function when connected to Bluetooth . Currently, with the Reach I have to use 2 devices to accomplish this, The Reach and a bone conduction headset( after shokz). That way I can speak to my guests on phone calls. But the hearing aid drops connectivity. Next issue with the Reach is it doesn't like it when the Bluetooth is connected to another device, such as the car. The car Bluetooth and the Reach fight for connectivity. I have to remove the Reach as it drops every call and then the car Bluetooth fails to connect. So it appears that the Reach must be the ONLY Bluetooth connected device to answer the phone and if I forget my headset I have to hold the phone while driving which is illegal. I understand the Jambra enhanced pro 20 is hands free. Does it have the ability to turn off from the phone and still work with the bluetooth app? Does it have the telecoil? In our area Aruracast is not available yet.
SO disappointing that ActiveVent and Motion Sensors are not included in disposable battery aids. Also WHY would a company release only 312 battery aids and not 13 battery aids?? You get double the life without much change in size from the 13 size. edited for typos
Hi, you are very good and the video is beautiful and comprehensive. But I would like to advise you to be more unbiased. Knowing Starkey, Phonak, and Oticon well, I can assure you that on several occasions you said some things that were not completely right, or you omitted to say some things.
What you could do Matthew--if you could--is to recommend the manufacturers to give us the ability to exchange (with a % credit) our current model for the newest and latest. That way, we would love to upgrade to the latest models available. Costco would be the first one I could think of to try this approach to selling new models. Apple is already doing it with their phones-- a great idea to be more in tune with our needs and our dear earth's needs too!
Which hearing aid are you wearing? Matthew
You didn’t show the hearing level graph for the Signia’s 😞

You state: "Resound boasts that by having this extra microphone in your ear canal ......They claim that this improves sound localization by around 15% when compared to omnidirectional BT mic microphones, and about 10% when compared to the hearing aids that provide pinner compensation."
Would you please explain what "pinner compensation" is?
Denise
Thanks Denise, I'm glad you found it helpful! Good luck with your appointment! Matthew
I'm trying to decide what to get! My issue is the inability to understand an d less about 😮hearing
Hey Sherry, hopefully this will arm you with more infor to speak with your audiologist. Matthew
I wear Jabra Enhance Pro 20 hearing aids. Very pleased with sound quality & improved hearing in noise program. Been wearing hearing aids since 2008.
Thanks again Stuart you must really like them. Matthew
Do try them on until you know which one to buy?
At just shy of 26 min, you mention, "I do, however, have individual reviews for each hearing aid
that I'm discussing today, which I'll link in the description of today's video, and I would without question recommend you watch as I go into a lot more detail than I'm going to now." I do not see any of these reviews, but especially the two I will compare. How can I access the fuller reviews? Thanks! Steve Colburn
How can I get access to your fact sheets you provide around 21:00 m?
Hey V, I’ve put them together so will look to try and upload them somewhere. Leave it with me. Matthew
Hey RicJona, the question is, why limit yourself to Costco, because there is a lot of other advanced tech out there. Matthew
Researching my first set of hearing aids. Your videos are very helpful. Thank you so much.
I love hearing this 😊 thanks for taking the time to share. Matthew
I don’t wear hearing aids but my brother wears behind the ear. I am a product designer at university and starting to do research into hearing aids for my final year project. This hopefully will give me a good start!
Hey Sidney, that's great thank you. I am delighted that this can help! Matthew
I will send them back and try the Phonak Sphere Infinio I 90
Thanks for this video, I found it very helpful.
I’m delighted to hear this! Thanks for taking the time to comment. Matthew

Philips HearLink 9010 miniRITE TR, waiting for the review of the 9050 to make my decision on my new hearing aids this September
Hey Shadow, watch this space. I'll have it as soon as they're officially out. Matthew
@@HearingTracker I most definitely will. I’ve narrowed it down too the Philips 9050 or the Jabra Pro 20, just need to see a comparison between the 2.
Thanks
Where can I find the comparisons chart you showed in the video? Can I have the link please? I wear the Widex Evoke 440.
What hearing aid is the best fit for cookie bite hearing loss?
I am curious to know where does Jabra Enhance Pro 20 fall into this category. Thank You
Hey there, they're lacking certain features to make it into my best hearing aids for 2024. However they are a solid option. Check out my full review if youre keen on them. Matthew
Teşekkür ederim. Tek kulakla duyabilenler için marka model kıyaslaması yapar mısınız. Malum seslerin yönünü anlayamıyorum cihaz olsa bile.
Hey Blokes, where are you based? Drop me an email 😊
out of the lot what is the best for a musician wanting to hear their acoustic guitar that sounds the most natural
Hey Don, great question. Have you checked out my video on hearing aids for musicians? Matthew
I just got the Widex Smart RIC, I have long term hearing loss and recently found out I also have speech recognition loss. Was wearing Resound before.
How do you like them? I just switched from Oticon Intent to the Widex and while not as "hi-tech" sound is more natural for me
@@lindaburnsherman9420 I’m still getting used to them. I have an appointment with my Dr. to do some adjustments. Speech is muffled so I’m really hoping it can be corrected.
Hey Anne, thanks for starting this conversation! Matthew

What would be some recommendations for law enforcement (active wear) and cookie bite loss?
This having been put on TH-cam on or about June 15, 2024, I presume that it does not address the Philips HearLink 50 (9050) release upgrade to the HearLink 9040.

Have you tried Oticon yet? They handle hearing in noise in a different way compared to other manufacturers.
Hey Pagzplay, what have you been wearing? Matthew
Great video as always, I am wearing a behind the ear device with a custom ear mould. I’m loving it. It is a Resound Danalogic AM777-DWT.
That is awesome! Thanks for sharing Kulvinder! Matthew
I am wearing oticon minirite receive in canal I’ve had it for 4 years and it’s continually shutting down I was told by audiologist it has to be replaced I’m upset because they are expensive. I can only wear one hearing aid because of multiple surgeries on my other ear. I also have a really tiny opening in canal of the ear I need the hearing aid it’s very difficult to get the aid in there
Thanks i need one of those, how can i found?
Currently wearing Eargo 7. In-the-ear. Strongly considering Phonak Audeo Infinio Sphere
just got an Oticon Real 1 to try out for my 3 week trial period. Unsure as of now if ill get a h.a. or not
I listen to classical music and over the years have had the top CIC models from Starkey and now Phonak.
Might need to switch to a Receiver in the Ear style hearing aids so you can lock them into music mode when you are playing music.
Hey Kbrod, it all depends on the loss and I disagree on the bass of Lyric. Find somewhere that you can do a trial! Matthew.
For temporary relief you can play a number of 3 hour videos on TH-cam (ocean sounds etc)
I’ve been wearing RIC hearing aids, w/ silicone domes (different sizes), husband wears a RIC with a custom ear mold.
How important is it to have an ear mold taken?
Very! but it all depends on your hearing loss. I try to fit moulds to as many as possible. Matthew
I have Phonak & they work perfectly, however just diagnosed with Endolymphatic Hydrops. The tinnitus is one of my top 3 issues. Is there a hearing aid that will help?
Also, I am extremely sound sensitive during an episode & would love a volume control button.
Thanks :)

Where can I download the feature tables shown in the video?
Hey Bolafson, I've built a few of them for the videos. Can I suggest Screenshotting them? Matthew
You are pretty intune with what is coming down the road for new hearing aids. I mentioned earlier that I prefer Phonak and am waiting for their Lumity custom coming out. Have you heard any news on when they might come out?
Yes but I'm sworn to secrecy! Matthew
@@HearingTracker I can understand that. with out giving a date, will I have to wait long?
It would be helpful if you stated whether your comments for each brand apply only to mild, or moderate or severe.
Hi Harvey, the fitting ranges are shown in the vid and all of the features apply to the aid rather than the receiver power. I hope that helps. Matthew
I use Receiver in Canal Hearing Aids (currently Oticon Opn S 1 miniRITE).
Why is there no Miracle-Ear reviews?
Hey Marvin, which ones are? Matthew
I use receiver in canal. Phonak Paradise. About 4 years old.
Thanks for sharing! Matthew
Just received the Oticon Intent 1. Couldn't be more pleased.
Have you tried any of those covered in today's vid? Matthew
Hey jake, I'm delighted that it was useful. thank you for taking the time to comment. Which phone do you have? Matthew
Thanks for sharing CPG! Hopefully your audiologist will be able to run through the details of Widex, Signia and Phonak with you. Matthew

Thanks for sharing Rumiduuuuuuude. Matthew
How do you like them?
I watched the video and in my opinion it was very biased towards the Phonak brand. Was there any sponsorship from this brand?
Thanks for sharing (as always)! Matthew
What great feedback! I’m delighted that you’re getting valuable info from them.
Thank you for sharing your experiences with the world! Matthew
@@HearingTracker I really appreciate these reviews. They are informatative and comprehensive. I may try Phonaks for a comparison to the Oticons.
Nebroo doesn't make the list?
Currently wearing Oticon which cost $1600 each when purchased some years ago and now need to be replaced as one is not working at all any more.
How do they compare?
@ I think I like the phonaks better.
How do you begin finding the best hearing aid for yourself? I'm sure I need one and don't know where to start.
Don’t start with finding the best hearing aid. Start by finding the best audiologist. They’ll do the rest. Matthew
I've got Phonak Audeo Lunity p90 Life.
Thanks Tom! Matthew
Matthew
Currently not using but considering hearing aids. Probably Costco because of price.

And he hasn't come back to comment.. 🤔

I ended up buying the Jabra Enhance Pro from Costco.
I am not wearing any... looking at Oticon or Starkey... RIC type
I now have BTE Phonak Naida Lumity's
Thanks! Matthew
Great share! Thanks, Matthew
Thanks for sharing well done
Well I am in Australia 🇦🇺 so the most important thing is to be able to hear people in a pub 😂

A) is not a realistic expectation, you should always be in the same room, looking at each other faces, and having each others attention for ideal communication
If you want to talk to each other from different rooms it would work better with a phone call /walkie or talkie / text etc
B) depending on your hearing loss perhaps custom molds would help for greater occlusion or if not, using your finger to plug one ear is a technique I see a lot of singers do. Or custom in-ear monitors.
Steve's right! You'll not get 100% perfection with hearing aids, but at the same point there's no harm in trying to get there. Matthew
I hated disposable batteries! If you sweat (I live in Texas and play golf year round) hearing aids stop working when moisture gets near battery so you have to open battery compartment to dry out battery. Love rechargeable!!!
I completely agree, rechargeable hearing aids are the way to go! Matthew
Helpful! Way up here in Michigan, but seriously damp. Ty
THANK YOU 🙏🏼🙏🏼
You're so welcome! Matthew
I wear an RIC style, the Oticon Intent.
Thanks for sharing Andrea! Brand new aid! I hope you’re doing well. Matthew
Awesome Bob! Thanks for sharing. Matthew
Check out next weeks video!!! Matthew

Thanks for sharing 😊
SO disappointing that ActiveVent and Motion Sensors are not included in disposable battery aids.
Also WHY would a company release only 312 battery aids and not 13 battery aids?? You get double the life without much change in size from the 13 size.

Hi,
you are very good and the video is beautiful and comprehensive. But I would like to advise you to be more unbiased. Knowing Starkey, Phonak, and Oticon well, I can assure you that on several occasions you said some things that were not completely right, or you omitted to say some things.
Hey Marco, thanks for the feedback. I’d love for you to expand. Matthew

it's very helpful video to share us,thanks. There are some cheap Earsmate hearing aids to try..
I wish I knew how to strike through text like that...
... to make comments harder to read? Matthew
Not at all for your channel my young friend. Just to know how to do it...
