    45 years of suffering and thousands of dollars seeking relief...didn't work at all or very little. Your videos, Dr. Fields, have given me freedom from pain, vertigo, brain fog, extreme fatigue, anxiety, and depression. I am so grateful to you.

      @@Mathaveld I've been doing breathing exercises for about a year from "The Oxygen Advantage". Doing Dr. Fields videos on top of that seems to have really helped. I do them in the AM, so it's less of a relaxing thing, and more of a breathing easier thing. My CO2 tolerance has also gone up.

    Man I love you lol, your words are so gentle and true. I can tell you my chiropractor stuck his fingers in the tmj joint and had me open my mouth wide(without holding my tongue on the roof) and it causesd clicking and pain in my right TMJ, which i never had before he did it. Now I have slight tinnitus in that ear as well. I think the issue was I opened up too wide and didn't hold my tongue against the roof. Really stinks that that happened though.

I’ve been religiously doing your videos and lately I’ve been skipping, overconfident and I ate popcorn yesterday which tremendously triggered my TMJ. ☹️ I feel like I’m back to square one but thankfully doing exercises a couple of times a day makes helps relax my jaw for a few moments. Hopefully I get back to being better soon and it’s a lesson for me. No more popcorn! And chips too! Prevention is better than cure. 😞

Personally, I wish every town had a Dr. Field's. I love #3,#4 and now #6! Amazing how the popping and pain descipates. It really hit home when he says "it can mimic a toothache" i went gor an emergency dentist appt and was surprised when my dentist said my masseter muscle was incredibly inflamed/swollen. One question: when I do the mouth opening exercise with my tongue pushing against my lower teeth the pressure against the teeth feels pretty powerful. Should I be concerned about my lower teeth being pushed out?

    Hi Dr Adam, greetings from Australia (or maybe that should be G'day). I had a sudden episode of not being able to open my jaw about 6 months ago, I tried to eat a toasted sandwich and I just couldn't open my mouth without excruciating pain on the right side right at the TMJ. I had to break the sandwich into pieces and stuff it into my mouth. This seemed to fluctuate in how much I could open it from then on, but pretty much always with pain. I think my jaw also started to make crunching/clicking/grinding sounds shortly after. I have worn a plate at night to protect my teeth from grinding/clenching for years now and on my latest visit to the dentist, she decided to alter it to lessen the pressure on the back teeth where I was doing the majority of the clenching (this is a temporary measure as she is having new ones made, both top and bottom). I am hoping the small adjustment she ha made to one of my teeth might help, but I feel that there is a slight deviation to the right when I open my mouth that never used to be there and the muscles on that side seem really tight. I only discovered your videos a week ago, and they are definitely helping. I intend to keep at it for a while to see if they can loosen things up and set things back to normal. Thanks.

      Hi and thanks for reaching out. I cannot make a diagnosis on TH-cam. However, I can tell you that the PRP will cause some inflammation in the joint and could throw off your balance. Check in with the doctor who did the procedure and see what they recommend. If you can, try some focused ESWT next time or, right now, get some laser therapy on the joint to help the PRP and push the inflammation resolution through faster.

    I'm hoping these will help the horrific pain I get in the face from bending the head forwards. I was charged $6850 for one 3 hour ER visit which resolved nothing to get one shot plus a needless MRI scan. My forehead becomes very painful - especially the eye sockets and TMJ regions. Also the back of the neck. Mys shoulders are shot and have been that way since 1996 when obstructive sleep apnea from reflux hit - for unknown reasons my arms badly atrophied by 90 days after the first apnea spell.

    • @dradamfields
      @dradamfields  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, That is possible but not common. As the pain was delayed, it will be difficult to find which of the exercises flared it up. I would try the TMJ #3 and TMJ #5 videos for more subtle exercises and then branch out from there making sure that you can handle the videos. Go light and find out what works for you. Hang in there. You will be able to get through this.

    Hi Adam. Weird question perhaps, but you seem to read the comments. One of my masseter muscles feels way larger and more active than the other. Do you have any advice on how to fix such asymmetry? I don't know if it is causing my issues, but it seems logical that one muscle being stronger would pull harder, and thus unevenly move my jaw.

    Hi Dr. Fields!
    Thank you for your great and joyful videos! Do you have any recommendations for exercises specifically targeting a misalignment in the jaw, causing the teeth not to fit properly, probably due to tension? Sometimes when I wake up my bite feels normal, but shortly after it gets misaligned again.
    For over a year ago, I was really stressed and chewed gum like a crazy person. Suddenly my bite didn’t fit anymore, and it feels like the jaw goes slightly forward an to the left. I tried a splint from the dentist which doesn’t work, and now she have referred me to a specialized dentist in bite function. But I really doubt that having them sand my teeth or giving me braces to make things fit again, is the right way to go about this :/. Also, it’s crazy expensive for a uni student.
    Your videos are the only thing giving me some relief and sense of slight improvement, so I hope you have some advice. It seems that the primary jaw issues/solutions out there is targeting locked, painful and clicking jaw-problems, but I can’t really figure out what to do about the misalignment. It is also causing me to push on the teeth sometimes during the day, and I get pressure marks on my tongue. I never had issues with my teeth or jaw before this happened overnight.. I'm hoping that some high quality self-care can fix this :-))
    Thankful greetings from Denmark.

    • @dradamfields
      @dradamfields  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi
      If the splint doesn't feel right, leave it out. They can help around 25% of the time.
      Try the Open Mouth Exercise for 45 seconds with a 15 second rest doing 3 sets 3x/day. It can be good a "resetting" alignment after too much chewing. Add the lateral pterygoid work I talk about in TMJ 3 when you do the Open Mouth Exercise.
      You may want to find a cranial chiropractor also.
      Try this for 6 weeks and, if you need further help, go to www.fieldsfamilychiro.com and let's get on a telehealth.

    • @rumbabc
      @rumbabc ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dradamfields Thank you so much for answering me! I will definitely follow your advice closely. I skipped the splint after about 4 month, since sleeping with it never gave me the same 'resetting' feeling in the morning, as leaving it out does. This gives me hope :-)). Thank you again and have a great day!
