The husqvarna logo is a set of gun sights. They originally made rifles

Many comments already, but I was aware that the symbol was what we now call a 'dove tail' sight from a rifle. Ironically, got my first moose with a Huskvarna rifle! Thanks for all the great info, Donny!

    I have a 91 262xp and a 92 40. Borh have cut a lot of wood. The 262 rebuilt only 1 time. Excellent saws.

The husky symbol is the sight-picture of a gun.
Husqvarna used to design and manufacture firearms that were considered some of the most accurate for the time, being renowned for the quality of (semi) adjustable sights.

@Matt-416 Very Cool info! Wonder if they also made the "square" bullets/barrels which were started being used in 1700s? Would make their symbol look even more like the bore of a rifle... hmm.

      I'm not sure.
Unfortunately, there aren't too many Husqvarna rifled muskets left. Most were destroyed by the Swedish govt during a large-scale demilitarization prior to WW1.

Way back in the early 70's I bought a Husqvarna 300 Win Mag. That rifle was very light and totally kicked my ass. Kicked so hard the scope would smack me in the face.

Indeed. Showing machines to motorcycles to deer rifles.
My one complaint about husky is that they have zero true ingenuity.
They buy small companies, exploit the good designs and implement them into their own designs, then ALWAYS dissolve the original company.
They're the Amazon of small engine companies.
Just look at chainsaw designs. Peek at the "original Husqvarna" features and all you'll see is what they exploited; "modern" design layout... Electronic controlled carburetor....
      Air injection...
It's ridiculous. From quad-port cylinders to their bolts. All taken from a different company, most of which they purposely bought, defunded, and disposed of.

Hello Donny! Husqvarna used to be a weapons manufacturer. The Husqvarna symbol represents a rifle barrel from the front with rear sight and front sight.

    Hi Donny
    Thanks for an enjoyable clip!
I thought i was an extreme Husky fan when it comes to saws!!,
But i think You're at a much higher level than me!!
My first Husqvarna was a little 36 with a grey top cover back in mid 90's i think?
I too have been to the museum & factory in jonkoping,Sweden -very interesting!
Im a UK cutter & my favorite mostly used saw is my 550mk2
    An awsome piece!
    Thanks again

Donny I had a Margay Speedway cart that I raced at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Washington for three years. I was in my forties then. It was an offset chassis made for circle dirt track racing. That was the most fun I ever had racing anything. I raced dirt bikes too but they couldn't hold a candle to the fun of racing a cart in the dirt. I trophied 17 times in those three years and never finished less than second place except a third in one race. Won the high points championship two of those three years. I had a buddy who was a mechanic at an industrial engine rebuild place in Portland, Oregon where we lived. We put a "Jackshaft" onit right away when I got the cart. I would race on Firday night and on Saturday the cart went to my buddies shop and we would put new bearings in the engine, new headgasket, plug, chain. clutch discs etc., etc. I sold the cart when I added up all the receipts I had spent maintaining that engine. Man was that expensive!! But it was the most fun I ever had racing anything! It is fun seeing all the cart stuff on the walls of your shop. Good video too.
    Jim

In late 1950's both Husqvarna and Monark-Crescent had production of bicycles and chain saws. In 1962 the companies made a swap so that Husqvarna took over the Crescent chain saw production and Crescent took over the Husqvarna bicycle production.

WOOHOOO! I'm really excited to see what you did with it donny!(Ben here). That'd be an awesome video. If ya find the tear down video that'd be awesome too. I've always wondered what all goes into the porting process. I'm excited to run it. That thing is like my right arm I'm lost without it. I'm getting some WCS 3 point dogs with it from you guys too (should be on the work form) and it'll be my favourite saw for a long time I bet.
I also agree with these other guys I believe the husky logo was originally their rifle sights.
