Just an amazing feat to keep DontNod:s perfect vision alive and evolving. And as you said (as with all previous entries) you never want them to end, so you keep replaying them. Great review, even after I just finished the game =)

I'm already surprised some people are saying 9-10hrs, Him saying 5-6 is crazy. My run was about 14-15hrs. Really smelling the flowers, talking to everyone, doing everything the game offered. If you already play the other games with the same style, this sequel will be the same length at 3hrs per episode.
My games to look forward to are: Life is Strange (on sale) Deathloop (after performance patch) FC6 (on sale) BF2042 (day 1) CoD Vanguard (after 2 patches) House of Ashes (sale) FH5 (day 1) New Splinter Cell day 1 for sure and R6 Extracrion idk
Tbh I don't mind it if it were just a scene with LARP role playing in this game, but it was more than a scene. It was almost completely the entire third episode of this game and a lot less story elements. I do like role playing but when you're playing a game like this you want the actual story. I can role play in real life, to spend almost the entire episode role playing seemed like a waste of time where story could have been added and I felt like it would have been cool if another episode supplemented it where it missed that time if they really wanted to go that route.
The second one was definitely my favorite. This one was good definitely smaller scale compared to previous stories but more focused and intimate w characters. Can’t wait for the next one
See this is what I love about this series. For me, LIS2 was definitely the weakest, but the different stories speak to different people! I never see a ranking list where everyone agrees.
@@ShadowGhostHD Same. I think LiS1&2 to me were trying too hard to relate but since they were written by middle aged French men it came across as pretentious. True Colors felt a lot more natural, the character chemistry and overall writing is a lot better so it felt so much more immersive.
@@BigBoiTurboslav I enjoyed True Colors, but I didnt like the "just in an area" - thing. In LIS 1, LIS BTS, LIS 2 there were more areas to be. It felt like an adventure, a trip to different places. The diversity was on a larger scale. The relationships formed very slow and didn't progress, because the game just ends there. Or some relationships just don't get more complex. I enjoyed True Colors, but it was kinda a disappointment for me.
@@ShadowGhostHD Yeah, you do have a good point. The weird thing I realized with True Colors was that I was REALLY enjoying the game but I didn't care about the main story all that much. I was so much more into the LARP, festival and just hanging out in the town rather than solving the mystery. I think that's probably also why it's such a hit/miss for people since in the previous games the mystery/adventure aspect is more focused. To be honest it's probably also out of all the games the most personally relatable for me so that probably hits the hardest.
As someone that worked on motion-capture/facial animation in UE4. I'd say the one here are I-N-S-A-N-E. If they do that work on the 1st game like they said in the trailers/news, DAMN I'm hyped !
If you like the Life Is Strange games, than you won't regret picking this one up. Even if you were not a big fan of them I'd still at least try it when it goes on sale one day. This title surprised me, I wasn't expecting to like it as much as the the first but there are some aspects to it I've may have enjoyed more. The way the characters are written, how the story fleshes itself out , the setting, I really enjoyed my time with the game.
what i liked about life is strange 2 is that it had alot of action from start to end and it made me feel alot, though really enjoyed the 1st.. this too i guess though it felt a bit short.. like before the storm
I just got into the second episode, but i can say that this game and its story is so beautiful that it woke up my emotions in just one episode while it took longer in LiS 1. Masterpiece for me rn. I really fkin love it!

@@ChristianBelman Hey, thanks for replying, Mr. Belman! I appreciate the advise. I think the game ACG reviewed looks like an intriguing story, but I didn't know if jumping into a series this late would allow me a proper contextual understanding and, thus, game appreciation. It makes sense to start at the beginning. I just Googled it to find out more about it, and it seemed the Remastered edition, originally due to be released on the 30th of this month, has been pushed back to early 2022. 🖖😐
@@gameslikezone2046 Thank you for replying to this post, Mr. Games Like Zone! Still, you folks rock. Have a wonderful day! 🖖
I loved the first game so much, the dlc for it didn't interest me at all and life is strange 2 didn't interest me in the slightest either. I'm curious about this instalment though. I hope it doesn't disappoint.
nice to know they toned it down from the second one. I had fun with the first installment. I will give this a try but not for $60 now ... hella was cringy before the first game but I still hear it unironically in 2021and I think: "Is that someone's uncle trying to get along with the cool kids?"
I loved the first and the prequel but on trying the second, just couldn't get into it. This looks much better than the first one visually. I just hope they do a good job with characters, setting, music, tone, and of course decision-making.
Did you play it? I've just finished it. I also struggled to get into the second game, a little. This, for me, was shaping up to be the best but it really was let down by its short length. First one is probably still my favourite but True Colours definitely was the best of the series in a number of areas.
This is less of a game and more of an interactive story. I didn't really enjoy it and found bits of it quite tedious. The save system is annoying also, often requiring you to re-run large sections if you quit at the wrong time. Biggest issue was the price, 80 bucks is waaaay too much to pay for this type of software in my opinion.
Really looking forward to your Deathloop review, geez I hope its good or at least a ton of fun 🤞🏼 maybe not a full ACG Certified review but I would like a shorthand version of your thoughts on Aragami 2 when that drops, I think that would be nice!
This was without a joke my game of the year... sure there where better "games"(in the classic *boom boom, bang bang* way) out there but non of them had any real heart and feeling to them(at least for me). This one really made my grizzled heart feel joy of playing games again. I finished it 3 days ago and I can't stop thinking about it! I absolutely adore this game now!
I love the LiS series. Just finished the gut-wrenching BTS chapter. Am a bit disappointed in the price, none of the previous games have been $60 so I don't get the increase (especially the deluxe and ultimate versions 🙄🙄). Idk if the length justifies the price. I will probably wait for a $40 price point.
Thanks for doing what you do so well. Im up for this game, games can deliver a narritive more memorable and moving than any other medium and i cant help wanting to enjoy a game that celebrates human empathy and compassion, the world needs more imo.
I had heard it was a 12-14 hour thing, kind a surprised ACG said so different. In the other games it took about 2 hours for me to go through each episode, and I look for every tidbit
@@bengejuknowit3048 Yeah man. I felt like the previous games were longer. And if they were to move along with just making the full game right of the bat instead of episodic, they can add more to the game.
Very good review. BUt the fact that I had about five to six hours per episode, so a total of about 30 hours according to Steam at least and even if I had compulsively tried to ignore as many optional things as possible it would probably still have been 20 hours for me. I personally feel like this is the best lis game because I dont really feel for max and chloe’s dynamic which is a big part of the game(before the storm was great tho 2nd best lis for me) and for Lis2 it was just mediocre for me. Lis3 has a great way of handling characters and even if I think the character is annoying I will probably get intrigued by reading the emotions
Just a heads up, it is locked to 30 fps on all consoles... even the next gen ones. So if you're gonna get it, and you have even a remotely decent PC, don't make my mistake lol go the PC route 100% edit: doesn't even hold that locked 30 on PS5 by the way, stutters and its rather choppy. Definitely grab on PC or wait and see if there's going to be a patch, there's no way Demon's Souls can run 60 but this game can't even run 30. edit 2: Don't pay 80 for this.
I did it in 10 hours
Not for no $60
Yeah, I'm waiting on a price drop before jumping into this one.
@Riven326 I agree, especially for this type of game
Look forward to giving this a try when it goes on sale sometime
Nice to see a fair review rather than other channels "this sucks because I didn't like it " type of "review"
My games to look forward to are:
Life is Strange (on sale)
Deathloop (after performance patch)
FC6 (on sale)
BF2042 (day 1)
CoD Vanguard (after 2 patches)
House of Ashes (sale)
FH5 (day 1)
New Splinter Cell day 1 for sure and R6 Extracrion idk
I tried to love this game because I love life is strange. But I thought it was lacking a lot ngl.
lol i'm the opposite. I hated the first one and loved this one.
I think LIS 1 and 2 are just unreachable, compared to the newer games by Dontnod
Enjoying this and the Remaster
As someone that worked on motion-capture/facial animation in UE4. I'd say the one here are I-N-S-A-N-E.
If they do that work on the 1st game like they said in the trailers/news, DAMN I'm hyped !
One of the really pissed me off so the game didn't explain how to sprint I figured it out nearly 6 hours in the game
Life is Strange is one of those games that really changes the way you see gaming. And man, the music was so fucking amazing!
Always appreciate your detailed reviews man! Can't wait to check this one out
I watched a couple other reviews, but waited for yours before making a purchase decision...thank you and I will go buy it now!
Hey, the Longest Journey/Dreamfall! That’s a series that you barely ever hear get brought up.
Omg yes. I loved the original Longest Journey. So underrated!
Really looking forward to kena, you're always my number one review channel to go to, so getting a review for that game would be great.
Not my type of game but the review was on point as always. Thanks for the video ACG.
These type of games are more fun to watch than play.
My expectations were too high for this game.
Even when I'm not interested in a game I find myself listening to Jeremy's reviews to see how insane he goes everytime.
It must be so hard as a dev when you start off with such a banger like LiS1 that expectations are always through the roof
Ehh.. I'll wait for a sale. The second game really let me down, and by seemingly all accounts this doesn't look to measure up to the first one either.
I'd prefer unnecessary surgery than play this one, great review tho sir.
Why did they make this game $59.99 when it’s only 14 hours long and really not worth that much with being $29.99 like it always have been.
what i liked about life is strange 2 is that it had alot of action from start to end and it made me feel alot, though really enjoyed the 1st.. this too i guess though it felt a bit short.. like before the storm
I just got into the second episode, but i can say that this game and its story is so beautiful that it woke up my emotions in just one episode while it took longer in LiS 1. Masterpiece for me rn. I really fkin love it!
Excellent review as always. Can’t wait to play this. Highly anticipating your Lost Judgment review I assume you’re doing
I loved chapters 1-4. Chapter 5 was more a movie than a game and it made me kinda frustrated... If I want to watch a movie, I watch a movie.
Until most recently, I was unaware of this series. I wanted to know more, in particular about this game (as it is the one being promoted now) and especially to be apprised by Karak. A great thing! 🖖
If you're going to play any game of this series, play the first one, Life is strange. Better, wait for the remastered edition of the first one coming out this month. The first game is the best one of the series by FAR.
Play it! You won't regret it :)
@@gameslikezone2046 Thank you for replying to this post, Mr. Games Like Zone! I most definitely will purchase and play this series, especially since you and the other commenter suggested it. 2 favorable suggestions versus none? Sounds like a good bet I should get the games.
I will have to play it later, though, as I will take the other person's advice and start with the first game, one of which I will buy when it is presented in remastered edition at the outset of next year. Still, you folks rock. Have a wonderful day! 🖖
graphics and animation are a big step up from the original life is strange imo
Life is Cring: True Hipsters
I loved the first game so much, the dlc for it didn't interest me at all and life is strange 2 didn't interest me in the slightest either.
I'm curious about this instalment though. I hope it doesn't disappoint.
What DLC did Life is Strange 1 have? Cause I don't remember seeing any... Life is Strange Before the Storm wasn't DLC, it was a stand alone game.
LiS: Before the Storm and Life is Strange 1 are amazing video games. Narratively good.
@@danbooke2001 Before the storm is stand alone DLC, still Life is strange dlc.
if you liked the first game then playing Before the storm is a no brainer... How could it not interest you?
@@Cr00klynD0dger it’s not DLC
Cardio on and ACG here to keep me company, eyyyy💜
nice to know they toned it down from the second one. I had fun with the first installment. I will give this a try but not for $60
now ... hella was cringy before the first game but I still hear it unironically in 2021and I think: "Is that someone's uncle trying to get along with the cool kids?"
In life is strange though every time Max used her power it was affecting the environment in a negative way, does that happen in true colours ?
This is less of a game and more of an interactive story. I didn't really enjoy it and found bits of it quite tedious. The save system is annoying also, often requiring you to re-run large sections if you quit at the wrong time. Biggest issue was the price, 80 bucks is waaaay too much to pay for this type of software in my opinion.
I play about 5% of the games you review whether you score them well or not but I enjoy 100% of your reviews so keep up the great work!
thanks for this, I enjoied LiS 1 and BtS but put 2 down right after EP1. This lets me know it is closer to the games i liked vs the ones i didnt
just finished this one and after the first one is my favorite
Really looking forward to your Deathloop review, geez I hope its good or at least a ton of fun 🤞🏼 maybe not a full ACG Certified review but I would like a shorthand version of your thoughts on Aragami 2 when that drops, I think that would be nice!
If Cyndi Lauper's True Colors isn't played/referenced/ or something, I'm not buying this game
I believe G2A has keys for around $30usd
Trudging 'round Tumblr Town 3.
Thanks for doing what you do so well. Im up for this game, games can deliver a narritive more memorable and moving than any other medium and i cant help wanting to enjoy a game that celebrates human empathy and compassion, the world needs more imo.
Maybe a good deal of horniness depending on the situation...??? Lol
Graphics amazing but gameplay and storyline needed some work.
First game in a long time I bought at full price and did not regret it
No way I’d ever pay $60 for a 5-6 hour game.
I had heard it was a 12-14 hour thing, kind a surprised ACG said so different. In the other games it took about 2 hours for me to go through each episode, and I look for every tidbit
_No way I’d ever pay $60 for a_ --5 to 6 hour-- _game._
No way I’d ever pay $60 for anything really! _Not in_ *_this economy!_*
Ayyy! (shoot me, pls)
It’s more like 10 or so hours unless you rush
I wouldn't either. Just wait until it's in deep sale.
Saying you don't see the value in something that is overpriced, apparently means you don't spend money.
Deathloop (likely already on your list), Lost in Random, Aragami 2, and Sable are amongst the games I am most curious to see reviews for in September.
I'm surprised that the feedback was overall positive, I hated this story so much for many reasons but people seems to like it
Finally I'll get to play this and LIS 2 with ps extra. Love the series and this will be another easy platinum addition to my collection.
I actually liked LiS2
Appreciate no spoilers bra playing this rn on GP
Crazy I only trust this guy's reviews now.
My only gripe is the game felt really short. I do like this game overall though
Definitely too short!
How did you manage to play that in 5-6 hours
Stop the cap
@@jluck1399 yea, I don't know, it seems to be possible to play through that fast, I just meant that this is not the average playing time but rather the rush playing time that he stated
These reviewers typically rush their experience to pump out content. Regular people like us appreciate the pacing of the game and play it bit by bit day by day
New World? I would love to hear your thoughts! :)
Great review as always. Adored the setting and feel of the first game. Much less the second one. Excited to try this one out.
Looking forward to your review of: Deathloop and Kena
I've been avoiding this one after the dumpster fire that was 2, but you convinced me. Thanks acg
lets see. i am kinda excited for the final score cause LiS was never a game that had good writing. would be nice to have dontnod to have a good title after some time :)
You're trolling, right? The Life is strange games had amazing writing. That's what everyone enjoyed about them.
Huh? The LiS series is one of the greatest story franchises ever made.
@@arsenelupin9697 nah, I've played Tales of the borderlands. Its not on the level of the life is strange franchise. It leans more into comedy
@@arsenelupin9697 Tales if Borderlands is overrated IMO
That’s like saying halo 2 has bad combat… what????
Im just gonna say... I did not think i would like this game... I was surprised.. I went in blind and liked the story.
Thanks for the great review!
This game honestly was a huge step over life is strange 2. Definitely one of my favorites.
I'd like to see how the franchise would handle a main character with superhuman strength.
I can't even dig the main characters look, so I can already tell this isn't for me. Great vid though
So if you're gonna get it, and you have even a remotely decent PC, don't make my mistake lol go the PC route 100%
edit: doesn't even hold that locked 30 on PS5 by the way, stutters and its rather choppy. Definitely grab on PC or wait and see if there's going to be a patch, there's no way Demon's Souls can run 60 but this game can't even run 30.
edit 2: Don't pay 80 for this. Amazing game, but not much longer than the original. Wait a year or 2 for deep sale, no way Square Enix gets to charge that much for such little content.
Hated the first game but I've been unable to put this one down.
I will play it in 3 months time when it comes to Game Pass
I played it and I'll say It's definitely a buy. LIS series will alsays have a special place in my heart
Thanks for the review but if the game's not as good as the first one then I'll wait for a sale
I'm a huge fan of the OG and Before The Storm. But $60? Damn...
