I love how many games are coming out this year and next that I actually want to buy. Years past I just didn't care. Nothing seemed interesting. But this year, so many cool games!
Pretty much most games released are coming from Western market, there are other big hit but they’re mostly region exclusive so it feels like you don’t see much attention outside of big budget games.
You can thank COVID for that lmao but i agree, halo, cod, battlefield, forza, Pokémon from switch, god of war, elden ring, horizon forbidden west…. Just insane dude
I was on the fence with this one after the Avengers game, and the stilted reveal trailer. But if Karak says its good, and even compares it to ALPHA PROTOCOL - one of the most critically underrated RPGs of the decade imo - then I've got to at least give it a shot. Much appreciated, mate.
I spent so many hours playing that game. It was far, far from perfect but I thought the same thing, massively underrated. I feel like it would probably do better today when AA titles are given a bit more love by reviewers.
I was hoping for a good review for this game, as your reviews are the most consistent and trusted. I'm glad this game got a good review and look forward to playing it tomorrow.
As always, this was an amazing review. It was very informative. I was disappointed by the Avengers game so I wasn’t even going to try this game, thinking it would be more of the same thing. After watching your review, I’m actually excited to play it.
Wow, genuinely happy to see this is a far better offering than Avengers. I hope it sells well and they start to produce games more like this and less than the last turkey. Great review 👍
Amazing review. Been watching for years, you nail it everytime. I just compared your review with a gaming magazine here in Germany (my main source before I found your channel), won't name them. Something I haven't done in a long time, since I didn't watch other reviewers besides you anymore. It's astonishing how differently you approach this matter and what you are presenting. Way more informative, while also catering me as a gamer. Those facial expressions man. The others didn't even care. But those are the things that I am looking for. That's really special what you are doing here. Thanks alot and all the best for you!
Yo, Karak - you’ll never been everyone’s cup of tea and that makes you special, genuinely. You’re a hell of a writer man; i appreciate your no nonsense approach to things and your turn of phrase. Keep doing your thing :) cheers!
Still can't change the bell setting in the tablet/phone app, either getting an "invalid argument" error or a "this option isn't available for content made for kids". Great review 👍
People who think audio and sound design don't matter will and have always been idiots. Love the amount of care and attention to audio this game puts forth. The fact there is a setting to help balance out ambient noise with audio to better hear player dialogue deserves a medal. I'm looking at you GTA

Fantastic review, I love when little surprises like this come along, especially when there’s even the slightest ties to a movie universe I’ve wanted to explore more. Grabbing a copy of this on my way home.
My opinion on voice and music, it only matters when it does. Most of the time in games it is standard or subpar at best (functional). But when done right, you know it. That’s why mass effect was so great, the voice acting was stellar.
Been playing a bit since it's just hit midnight in New Zealand and on PS4 it plays well! The banter is fun between all the main cast fun so far! Better than avengers at the moment!
@@sonygod5418 I'd like to know as well. It does say 30fps in this video ( last gen systems ) but it also mentions two instances of frame drops later in the game on the new Xbox consoles. Also slight problems with quality and performance modes ( but obviously does not apply to base PS4 )
I've been following you since last year, and I really don't think I've seen you give such a resounding buy rating before. Sounds like this is definitly a game I want to pick up.
I've had no expectations about this, but it looks cool. Not really my thing at the moment but I might play at some point. Thanks for putting it on the radar.
I really love this game. It has a great story, and nails the characters. It's a great single player game. It did not re invent the wheel but is a fun game regardless.
I super appreciate this being put up on podcasting apps. I typically don’t have the time to watch TH-cam, but I am able to throw that review in my podcast que and listen to it
It's still a damn shame the others guardians aren't really playable cept Starlord himself. It could have give the game's combat some extra flavor and variety just like how you choose between batman, catwoman and robin in the Arkham Knight all in real time. But nonetheless,It's nice that this game turns out to be actually good overall.
That's the reason I'm giving it a pass. A rich, diverse cast & I'm stuck playing the most generic out of the bunch. Rocket's right there for crying out loud!
@@ACGreviews Far more in depth than IGN ( 7min review ). Please don't forget about owners of the older systems. You mentioned 30fps on PS4 and Xbox One. It would be good to hear if performance was acceptable throughout even on base systems?
Ever since the “I Need a Hero” trailer, I’ve been eagerly awaiting reviews. I wanted this game to be good and it seems it actually is. I had been holding on for a hero. Hallelujah.
I'm about 3 hours in and so far it hasn't disappointed me. The graphics look amazing and it runs really well in performance mode on my series x. I love the movies and this should hold me until the 3rd entry is out. While it's not a very deep game and some may think that the combat is a bit simplistic but I mostly play shooters so button mashing different combos is not something I love to do therefore it's perfect for me. Hope they make a sequel. Enjoy!
i love this game the one thing i hated was not being able to control where to go next like once u jumped in that driver seat story mode takes over and i dont get to choose where i want to fly off next what if i want to go back to the nowhere or the quarantine zone to explore more and pick up more items i dont get that freedom to choose

something to keep in mind for black friday sales. so much coming out that I want to play so soon, there is not going to be enough time to play this for awhile.
I'm only on chapter 8 but my god am I enjoying it. Its a straightforward singleplayer game like we used to get back on the PS2 and that's what I've been longing for for a while now. None of those modern day complex in depth RPG mechanics just a basic good looking linear and just plain fun game. I love it so much.
The combat looks really lackluster to me, I think adding co-op or at the very least allowing me to switch to a different character instead of only being Starlord would have been better. Reviews have been good, but I think this is still a wait for sale for me.
Looking forward to picking this up on my Xbox series s as soon as it arrives. Edit: actually even after I have my Xbox series s, I'm probably gonna wait a year or two before picking any new games up just to play it safe.
This is great! I love Guardians but was very hesitant to get this. I actually loved playing Alpha Protocol (flaws and all) and Mass Effect is possibly my favorite IP. Nice to hear that it wasn't half assed
I’ve preordered the game few days after seeing ACG Preview video regarding this game and liked everything I saw and heard about it. I must admit though that I really like Guardians of The Galaxy, pretty much the only Marvel superhero movies I really like (I watched Avengers End Game because they were in it), so that played huge part in my decision as I’m not a fun of preordering games and also have a huge backlog of games to play. With that said I’m really glad I did and that it turned out to be even more impressive game than preview video described. Hope it sells well. Thanks for yet another great review! P.S. Lite Mass Effect (original trilogy related) and Alpha Protocol mentions was enough for me to be glad about my purchase.
Just started the game, and so far I thinks it’s a blast. The banter back and forth the music really help making fun to play. The music is even better when you grew up in the 80s.

If I had the time, I might've given this a go, I was never going to give Avengers a go.
Glad this turned out good, the Deus Ex devs are wonderful, hope they get another shot at Dues Ex series after this
now everyone gonna act like they always had faith in this game lol. good review as always
I’m more excited about Lego Star Wars than the next cod or battlefield at this point
I’m glad this turned out to be good, I had extremely low expectations.
Hey ACG, liking these new video graphics. They really improve your already good flow
Thanks!
I knew the studio that gave us the modern Deus Ex games wouldn't disappoint.
They did disappoint, they didnt release a third Deus Ex.
@@SagaciousNihilist blame Square Einx for not letting them.
Last Tombraider was rather unpolished until a couple of patches later it just seems to be the way CD rolls.
This isn’t CD though. This is Eidos Montreal
Every game company is like this nowadays, though.
@@ArmonV Eidos-Montréal did develop Shadow of the Tomb Raider which is currently the latest TR, so I think there might've been a mix up with dev names
Thanks so much man!
The soundtrack works well with the combat. Haha. And the humour is great. Going to enjoy this Haha. A sequel I hope is on the way.
Just wanted to point out ACG bro your reviews are always so thoughtful and detailed. Love what you're doing bro 🤘
I need friends
wow, some of those world settings actually look very good.
Continues to trip me out how similar to XC2 it's combat looks.
They definitely took inspiration from XC2 with that battle and HUD setup...
Nice to see that this turned out well; I'll pick it up eventually, maybe once I finally get my hands on one of the newer consoles.
It's also on PC.
@@SimmoSups not everyone has a PC suitable for gaming
@@SimmoSups I don’t believe you.
It's on current gen and comes with a free upgrade to the newer consoles
This guy could talk over 20 minutes on a game so eloquently, genuinely, and without spoilers that it is quite frankly an art.
Bro you mentioning alpha protocol brought me back that’s a deep cut right there I wish they would have made a sequel loved that game
Wish they would relist it so I can buy it.
I honestly thought no one remembered that game but me lol
That was a damn fun game despite its many flaws. Would love to play a espionage RPG like that again
That moment when a game looks more sexy after an ACG review.
Still holding a eye out for "after release microtransaction nonsense" but it's one that I'm going to pick up eventually.
It's a single player adventure game. Why would there be MTX?
@@sammalone7881 Tell that to Ubisoft and Warner Bros.
@@aedof nah those games are designed for people to never stop playing(as long as they’re somehow not bored doing the same thing over and over again) single player games like this are designed and expected for a single play through and maybe a second for trophy hunters…it’d be a waste of resources to make a bunch of Mtx
@@douglasdickinson1877 Who is playing Assassins Creed more than one or two times? And Shadow of War? Sure, they have a lot of checklist things that can keep you playing for a while, but eventually you complete them and that's that. They really aren't designed to be played "forever" like multiplayer games supposedly are.
@@aedof no no they don’t play it more than one or two times but they have a system where you can keep going for a long time in the end game(believe me I don’t because I’m bored by then but skme do)
loving this game!!! lately i’ve been on and off games, they just havent been catching my attention and making me want to go back for more. for example far cry 6.. another good far cry game but after roughly 8-10 hours i dont see a reason to keep playing. but man this guardians game is great. i cant wait to get back on and see where the story takes me, along with laughs throughout the entire experience.
Fantastic review, I love when little surprises like this come along, especially when there’s even the slightest ties to a movie universe I’ve wanted to explore more. Grabbing a copy of this on my way home.
Glad my first impressions were wrong. Definitely picking this up now. Awesome review as always!
Wait it's already there :O
How is the proformance on the reguler PS4?
@@sonygod5418 I'd like to know as well. It does say 30fps in this video ( last gen systems ) but it also mentions two instances of frame drops later in the game on the new Xbox consoles. Also slight problems with quality and performance modes ( but obviously does not apply to base PS4 )
Better than avengers isn't exactly a high bar
@@sonygod5418 performance wise think star wars Jedi fallen order
I've been following you since last year, and I really don't think I've seen you give such a resounding buy rating before. Sounds like this is definitly a game I want to pick up.
Was waiting for your review ! Happy i got the notifications
I've had no expectations about this, but it looks cool. Not really my thing at the moment but I might play at some point. Thanks for putting it on the radar.
Dog Report Item: Great review as always, enjoying the game so far!
Ok, I laughed at the MDC armor class ref. Great review!
I really love this game. It has a great story, and nails the characters. It's a great single player game. It did not re invent the wheel but is a fun game regardless.
I super appreciate this being put up on podcasting apps. I typically don’t have the time to watch TH-cam, but I am able to throw that review in my podcast que and listen to it
“Apathetic flaccidness” is an incredible phrase. Absolutely adding that to the lexicon, thanks.
Looks good! I’ll probably pick this up in 3-6 months when they have the performance ironed out
Reminds me of Mass Effect, great review as always Karak
Great review as always. Definitely gonna pick this up soon. The music alone is one of the big pulls for me here!
If I can rickroll aliens I’m in.
The exploration looks so good but I’m not so sure about the combat..?
You have been pumping out so many reviews lately. I'm all about it man.
What the, this has actually surprised me. Thanks for the great review as always, I love the audio settings menu on display there
Love the content as always ACG :)
Thanks!
@@ACGreviews Far more in depth than IGN ( 7min review ). Please don't forget about owners of the older systems. You mentioned 30fps on PS4 and Xbox One. It would be good to hear if performance was acceptable throughout even on base systems?
Just got this game on sale last night (due in part to this review). Super chuffed with what I've played so far
I had zero expectations for this game and I purposely steered clear of watching upcoming videos of it because I didn't want to get hyped up over nothing.
Now I can't wait to play this game!
I absolutely love your reviews bro!
Thanks for the hard work you put into them
Nope dont get excited now steer clear like you were already planning you dont deserve this game tbh I avoided avengers because of the beta but was excited for this one
@@romellpoellinetz7435 Bruh.
The way he runs and shoots reminds me of Syphon Filter
Today's gen don't know a thing about this most likely.
Tabernac! Good to see Eidos-Montreal putting in the work for this type of franchise.
I haven't seen any of the movies and i think that actually enhanced my experience with the game
ACG my brother! ❤️ your content dude. Deffo will be picking this up now. Thanks. 👊🏾
Fist bump for use of the word deffo 👊🏻
I was very sceptical when they announced this after the Avengers screw up. It's nice to see it turned out well in the end!
I woke up this morning and checked into TH-cam for this review, thanks man.
Never saw the movie and I don't know who these characters are but I'll buy it because its single player and has good performance.
These games must we support
I'll get it on deep deep sale. Avengers turned me off on marvel titles by square
Where's all this soul and affection for the source material coming from? What a pleasant surprise.
I'm so glad this game turned out to be good. I was hoping it would be good cause I love the graudians of the galaxy. Can't wait to start playing this tonight on steam
something to keep in mind for black friday sales. so much coming out that I want to play so soon, there is not going to be enough time to play this for awhile.
I've been waiting for this review, specifically from this channel.
Thank you for always being thorough ✊🏽✊🏽
The combat looks really lackluster to me, I think adding co-op or at the very least allowing me to switch to a different character instead of only being Starlord would have been better. Reviews have been good, but I think this is still a wait for sale for me.
Fair enough. But your loss! xD
I'm really glad this is getting good reviews. It looks like a lot of fun.
You should give Spider-Man PS4/PS5 a chance then. You'll probably love it.
Ngl when he said mass effect lite it made me really interested in this game.
Been waiting on your review to make up my mind. Good look, thanks.
It's a Squinix single player game, no matter how well it does it's gonna fall short of their financial "expectations".
Just started the game, and so far I thinks it’s a blast. The banter back and forth the music really help making fun to play. The music is even better when you grew up in the 80s.
A other good vidoe dude keep it up you rock love your vidoes
Thanks! Will do!
I wasn't even considering this game till I watched your review. Hell of a convincing review good sir.
i’m one of the 10 people that really enjoys avengers so i’m thinking that i’ll probably love this game
I love Avengers the Spiderman and the Arkham series this game is gonna be a blast for me can't wait to play at the midnight release (digital Pre-Order)
Definitely not how I expected this review to go. I was 100% sure this would have been a wait for sale. Glad to hear it’s a good game worth a buy! As always amazing review!
And here, we, go….!
This is a pretty shocking result! Glad this exceeded expectations. Thanks for the great review man!
The lower right text is a bit odd for this video. The larger text in white box above the smaller plain text below implies Headline-Sub Text but they are mostly full sentences that should be equal in importance.
Ya I like messing with them
