She comes to you in the epilogue and states of her own volition that what she really wants is to be with Alex, which I think is an extension of what she says on the roof about Alex always putting other people's feelings first and that it's time she was able to do something for herself. At that point what's right for Alex is really is down to player agency- it's not like picking one or the other is 'bad'- so if what you wanted to do was travel then totally fair enough
I ("straight" guy) usually go for the gay option in games . This time I decided to not do that, so I went with Ryan instead. Ended up crushing on Ryan and now I'm bi.
Personally, as a diehard lgbtq+ activist myself, if you get a choice like that in games like this, I never felt that you should go with the gay option. Not that you go with the straight option though. If you’re attracted to girls, go with the girl. If you’re attracted to boys go with the boy. If you’re bisexual, nice. That’s kind of what those choices are made for (I think at least)

Steph is easily growing as my favorite character in the LIS franchise. I'm currently reading the "Steph's Story" novel now. I was definitely planning on replaying the Wavelengths DLC when I'm done with the book, but now I'm contemplating replaying all of True Colors.

The game includes a feature for people streaming gameplay to be able to mute licenced music; useful for avoiding copyright strikes but it kinda ruins some scenes like the end where it's just left totally silent as they didn't seem to think of including something alternative to play instead
