Sadly WB blocked some parts of my video and they'll be impossible to post it later, been trying for days, same for tomorrow's video. Hope you enjoy them nonetheless!
Devoe is one of my favorite examples on the cost of idealism, which if you don't know is the goal to achieve something that is almost impossible to reach, except he had the power to make it happen, and yes, the goal was very evil, but cost was as he gained more power, he became more villainous and cruel, even to the point of making his own wife watch him kill. He thought he was smarter than everyone, and he was, but eventually it was his own hubris that brought him down. (Yes I know this was extra and wasn't needed but I wanted to put it anyways)
great analysis! he's very distinct from the previous seasons' villains, in that respect. Thawne, Savitar, the premise of their conflict was one that revolved around Barry's destruction. even Zolomon, who was primarily motivated by his own addiction to speed, saw Barry as something of a rival that he needed to prove himself against. Devoe was the first main villain to be motivated by an ideology broader than just a vendetta. on top of being the first non-speedster and having one of the best identity reveals, there's just so much to love about the guy.
God, I forgot how fucking terrifying and powerful he was. Honestly the best and last fun villain in the series. It seemed like nothing could stop him, he was like an immovable wall.
It would have been interesting to see a Flash with the artificial speed force versus the Thinker. I like that the first artificial speed force increases the user's intelligence or process speed.
Honestly if Barry had gotten superspeed thinking from the speed Force instead of the artificial Speed Force he would've outsmarted Devoe and be lots of steps ahead of every Big Bad he comes across ?
He was one of the best villain to date.He became a god. They were very lucky to defeat him because he was unstoppable.Even basic thinker was when the season started,i loved how he played Barr from the beginning👌 I dare to say he could be a good superman villain too👌
Yeah I didn't appreciate him when season 4 came out. But after the the overuse of Tom's Thawne and the villains of newer seasons *looks at insect man and the power rangers' escapee*, I feel like he is pretty alright.

I mean, they were entirely different characters. Devoe was the villain of the season and had had basicaly godlike powers, Gunn's version is just a side villain who's pretty smart. He serves his purpose in the story. I don't see what's ironic here.
Though I wouldn't rank DeVoe as high as Reverse-Flash, Zoom, Savitar and Godspeed are, I admit he had incredible powers. The way he used them with such versatility...especially in the ARGUS' intrusion scene. Also that : 2:01. That was just 👌👌
He outranks all of then As long as they don't travel back in time For one he will be able to deduce their next action, he is indestructible, can control their minds, and can manipulate their luck He could also totaly reduce their Gravity, making their speed useless, or he could increase the gravity to the point they can breathe as their ribs get pulverised and they fall to the ground
@Cameron Matlock Except that he can't do that anymore since speedsters think as fast as their speed... And, normally, speedsters are immune to ANY psychic attacks like DeVoe had. In other words, yes, DeVoe can beat a speedster but only if he catch them by surprise. Otherwise, he can't see them (Barry stood so fast that DeVoe thought he escaped while he was actually too fast for his eye to proceed with his speed) and can't use any mental attacks.
He foresaw her arrival, but didn't account Barry would hesitate when he was reminded of Ralph's loss. He said Flash was supposed to look behind his back and stop Banshee before attacking. That's ironically how he also loses in the end, he can't calculate other people's emotions.

technically it did. perhaps it was why he never planned to take over Barry. @Cameron Matlock I wouldn't say that. one time devoted trapped the flash in a box with no way to get out. Barry phased his molecules to turn invisible. devote released the prison and Barry escaped explaining his speed would trick his senses.

@Cameron Matlock arrogance is a big part of the villains the flash has to deal with from professor zoom, Zoom, Savitar, cicada, The thinker, Bloodwork, etc
