Thanks for the video, I just replaced this on my 2012 JKU, had some intermittent stalling issues at very low speeds; a Jeep Wrangler Forum also said to replace the positioning sensor...so far so good.
After about a month of herking and jerking on the highway my Jeep finally threw codes same ones as yours. I originally thought it might be an 02 sensor because I pulled a code just once for one. So probably replace both just to be safe I gotta 2012 107k Awesome video! Definitely made me a subscriber glad I found you!
I just replaced my camshaft position sensor bank one after getting the dreaded lights and the engine going into limp mode, now going to replace the crankshaft position sensor with an OEM Mopar part, then reprogram things with my Jscan app. My engine was also cutting out at very low speeds, hope this works.
@thebrucechannel8061 did it work? My 16 jku does same thing. It's also RHD because I deliver mail... it's so annoyingly frustrating. it was doing the limp mode before the code for Crankshaft sensor came on my snapon scanner. Camshaft sensors have been replaced dozens of times. The wires have been done and I can't figure it out. Odd thing is I bought a second 2016 RHD as a back up and does the same thing 😅🤯
@@courtneystout8190I saw someone with these issues and the guy claims it was his ECU. He opened it up and notice the pins were barely soldered so all he did was add solder to them and fixed his stalling issues.
Just replaced my CPS on my 2013 Wrangler Sahara. Last Friday morning it stalled out on me at a bad spot, but started up again after sitting for 5 minutes in the middle of a highway. Ran great all weekend plus Monday, but then conked out at the same spot on Tuesday morning. Hopefully this sorts out the issue. This video was instrumental in making this an easy job, even at 10pm in the dark. :D

Straight to the point. Just for me though I don't think you need to struggle with one hand to demonstrate whole removal. Just start it and show it removed is plenty imo. Appreciate the video!!
My 2014 JKU had the idle just drop to zero while driving on the highway. Still had power but nothing even when downshifting (6 speed manual). I was able to just turn it off and back on and had normal idle again. I’ve had CEL on for wheel sensor and crankshaft position (PO018) that comes on randomly. I’ll see how it drives tonight when I get out of work. Hoping the fix suggested in this video might solve it if it happens again.
Sadly, that was not the only issue our Driveway Mechanic Frank had. He just replaced his motor this past week. You can check out the video here: th-cam.com/video/ukFev-1W0ug/w-d-xo.html . If you haven't already make sure to hit that like and subscribe button.
camshaft sensors are different than the crank shaft sensors. Cam shaft sensors are in motor behind intake. i just found this out at autozone when they double checked wat i asked for lol
So one of our Co-Hosts had this and actually go get it checked out at a dealer because this can mean your timing is off in the motor and could be causing harm to the motor.
I'm fixing to change mine. It has misfiring at around 3500 rpms ar wide open throttle and I can herea it on deceleration. It's really quite random. I already change my spark plugs and that didn't help. Hopefully this is it. If not I'll move on to injectors or coils.
I wish people would actually show the 2007 models on these videos. The 07 is totally different. Smae position, but above and behind the exhaust, and you have to go in thru the inner fender. And, a wrench won't go on You HAVE to use a ratchet.
I’m a girl that’s about to do this herself. Wish me luck! Do I need to reset the computer? Disconnect the battery or will the sensor just reset it self after I change it?
I know this is a late response, normally you can disconnect the battery after any part swap and the computer will run a scan on its own. You could also have the codes cleared, computer is constantly monitoring
If I changed this sensor will it increase my gas mileage . Also I never got a code for this anyway I just read that this could be a reason to having low gas mileage . Just curious for your opinion or anyone else
I got about 169K on my 2013, i’ve never replaced this, but when I’m accelerating, sometimes I feel a little bit of a power drain, but then it kicks back up the further i press the pedal, not all the time though. could this be causing my problem as well?

Is there a way to test which sensor needs replacing? I ordered the part only to find out that there are 2. I don't live in the US and the auto parts stores where I am do not keep them in stock.
Hi Frank, thanks for the video, I'm about to change my sensor as well. Question please, how do you get the connector off the sensor? I've watched a couple of other videos as well, and everyone say "just pop it off", but my connector is on pretty tight, I can't just pop it off by hand. Any thoughts? Thank you!
@@PassaicRiverFishing THANK YOU! That is the detail we needed, seriously. I didn't know if it needed to be squeezed or lifted or what. There are so many different kinds of latches on weatherpack connections.
I'm having the same issue...sort of. I have a 2017 JKU. I've lost power a few times, but the Jeep doesn't stall and fires right back up. The last time that it happened, I was rolling along at 60mph and just shifted to neutral, turned the key and just kept going. Am I having the same issue? I should also mention that the check engine light has not come on.
i have a 2014 jk it only has 66 thousand k's on it (not miles) but now it will drive and run without missing a beat for about an hour or so but then the motor will shut down and will kind of start but not fully. and some times it will start fully and can smell fuel badly but it will cut out after like 5secs but it i leave it for around 30mins it'll start and run like nothing was wrong with it
I have never had luck with aftermarket electronic sensors on any of my mopars ----- in my opinion never buy anything but dealership electronics for your jeep or mopar vehicle unless you want to replace that part again faster then you should need to replace it
"All Hell was breaking loose" in otherwords a Tuesday for a jeep. Lol thanks for the video.

Did you also have a p0300 code too? Mine just came on today and had both P0339/p0300 I replaced the sensor and reset the codes so far so good

Is the bank 2 sensor in the same place in wrangler JL? Bank 1 sensor was easy to find and replace.
my 2014 start doing it stalling at 245km when it want thanks for the info time to change it 👍🏻🔥
So, did you have to lift the lock tab on the connector or squeeze it? This is a great video! Thanks for getting in there with the camera.
Wondering if that would be the cause of a P0340 or the p0018 that just happened
Did you have to do a relearn because mine was doing the same thing and I bought a new sensor and it keeps coming up on the codes
Jeep Liberty 2004 and mine is welded in apparently with rust? Won't come out for anything. The screw unscrews but can do nothing from there :(
Gonna change mine now . Thanks for video 📹
Glad it helped
I appreciated the video. I'm trying to do the same thing on my 2018 1.4 liter jeep renegade latitude. Any suggestions on where it would be? Thanks!
Did you have to relearn it, sync it with the cam sensor?
No, you should not need to sync or relearn the sensor.

Through a Vehicle diagnostic reader/code reader you would be able to see which sensor needs to be replaced.

Make sure that the Locking feature on the connector is open.
It should be a red tab push the red tab up. It’ll pop up about a eighth of an inch do not take the red tab all the way out just unplug sensor
Ya, my clip broke while trying to get it out. I am replacing the sensor and will zip tie it to make sure it stays in place.
