    I loved my BRZ, but for anyone looking to buy a used one avoid the 2013 models of the BRZ/FR-S. They have a pretty bad recall out on them. They left the factory with the wrong valve springs.

    • @Arestas25
      @Arestas25 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      True, all models after 2014 had that problem solved but being a boxer you will always have to keep an eye on the valves. I've seen some customers in the FT86Club complaining about the recall on the 2013 FRS models causing more problems than solving. I guess Toyota doesn't have the experience and knowledge of a boxer engine like Subaru mechanics do. Besides that, the car is great and in my opinion it will be a future classic. Take good care of it 😉👍

      @danielleduc5278 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@danteeightsix9069 idk but I honestly just think it was hit or miss on the way they rolled off the assembly line. Some FA20s were built poorly, some not. I know alot of people who beat the piss out of em, myself included and are fine. I drive very spiritedly so I know the car can take it. Maintenance is a huge factor as well.

    I’d say the 2015-2017 mustangs. $16k for a one owner EB to $24k for a 5.0. The less options the better. Means you have more of a blank canvas to work with. Plus they easily fit 20x12 rims and 305s on all four corners. Lots of air suspension options too.

    These are all great car options! Great job, Gels! I owned a regular mk4 Golf 2.0L and that was the best fun I ever had even with it's low HP. The BMW E30's are also quite popular for "Bang for your buck" older performance cars here in Australia.
    I'd like to see some of the cars with the broadest options in aftermarket parts on a future episode of The Build Sheet!

    The Japanese cars like BRZ/86, 370z, old Hondas are something special to look at 👌🤤!!! They have a personality of its own and the interior driver focused that lacks most of the cars today.

    Absolutely best bang for buck cars would be rx8, Crx, rsx type s, Integra gsr civic hatchbacks, bmw 3 series, miata
    The next tier would be these cars and s2000, z06, e36 m3, etc
    Driven most all, I like a rx8 with bad engine $1500, reman engine, $3k, bushing and misc stuff, $2k

    A surprising entry would be a 2017-current Hyundai elantra sport. Its not the craziest you can get but 201 horses at the crank with a 6 speed or 7 speed dct is nice, the dct is abit weird. I own one and I'd go manual if I could. But anyway, it has a good amount of aftermarket support. Many people I know who have one are currently at 260-280 horses to the wheels. However the lack of a lsd from factory does suck but there are aftermarket ones available

    In my opinion the current best car for straight up preference. On the “cheap” is the c5 and c5 zo6. The c5 coupe is 3,250ish lbs with 350hp 360 torque with its good old ls1. 0-60 is in about 4.5 sec and top speed is about 180mph. I bought mine for $12,700 with 56,000 miles at 19. Now at 61,000 with no issues. The Zo6 is 400hp and 400 torque weighing in about 3,100 lbs with its ls6. They go around $18,000. Also if you want to track them it helps they both have 51/49 Weight distribution. If you want the best straight up performance car in my opinion this is your best choice by miles. BTW in comparison my dad’s 2019 mustang GT 6 speed goes 0-60 in about 4.3sec with 460hp and top speed around 175mph. It also weighs about 3700 lbs. His car was about 40k. The only 2 things I see he is getting for that money is a warranty and more Technology. It’s not worth it to me because I work on my car myself and can add some of the Technology myself.

    Another car that flies under the radar is the MK7 Golf 1.8T tsi. You can find them cheaper than GTIs and they can be modded just like GTIs since their engines are almost identical. The downsides to this car would be a 5 speed manual transmission vs a 6 speed and i dont believe they come with LSDs like some GTIs do.

    You guys should have thrown in the ‘13-16 Cadillac ATS/ATS4 with a turbocharged 2.0L I4 @ 272hp & 260-295ft-lbs tq (depending on year), available 6sp manual or 8sp tiptronic, paddle shifters, available magnetic suspension, Brembo brakes standard, dual exit exhaust, a 5.4 0-60mph, 14.1 sec quarter mile and benchmarked on the BMW E46 3-series. This car is a serious contender, has a good aftermarket performance mod selection and can be had for $15-20k w/ under 50k miles.

    Good cars yes, and I like the frs and gti a lot. But parts for frs are a bit expensive, especially when it comes to body kits and tunes and turbos or superchargers and even wheels. A turbo alone is 6k a widebody goes for 3-4K and everything else just adds up. I legit bought an 05 is300 for 3k and all suspension components and interior will be a total of 10k and that’s including buying the car

    I feel like you guys left out one of the most iconic band for buck car. The mustang GT. I can buy a 2012 GT for around 13k for less than 100k miles. That car is cheaper than half this list, has no bro tax, and puts out 400+ hp. I got a 2006 gt for 6k and fix her up, never had so much fun drag racing and drifting, and it sounds nice, looks great, and has no issues taking power. Also, for the gti and amg, good luck with repairs. If you're not lucky you'll be constantly fixing the gti and some are illegal to have in the us, and the amg needs no explanation. It's a cheap, fast lux car.

I think that s quite a good bang for your buck, especially the 987 (second genration. I mean what other car can give you the same driving thrills of a mid engined car for right around 20k. It is also very unique as not many people own these and they re certainly not something that you see everyday. Cool video guys! Keep up the good work, waiting for part 2 of this one. CheeRS!
