Idk, I got a 2004 Mustang GT for $5500 and my brother got a 2002 Subaru WRX for $6000. If you want a good and cheap car, you just need to look for a while
Cop cars are awesome. Yes they were probably beat to hell but they got maintained very well. Plus automakers drop special engines and features in them that civilian versions don’t come with. I saw a retired 2016 Ford Explorer for 10k and it had high mileage which is ok with me. Never buy retired state trooper cars. Buy town/city cop cars. Unlike state trooper cop cars they don’t get constantly redlined in pursuits and they don’t idle all abandoned for hours or days with there lights on by a construction zone to scare people to slow down.
Well in India , Civics(only 8th and 10th gen are available) sell for 1000$ No chance of getting a subie. W124 E 220 sell for 2000$ to 10000$. BMW E36 sell for 12000$ BMW E90 sells for 5000$ to 10000$ The cheapest land cruisers are like 18k. Octavia vrs sells for 2k.
Even the supercharged cobalts are a good pick up. The motor holds power and its easy to swap to a turbo setup. I've had both of them, both were fun. They're also cheap to build vs other cars
ViciousWayz forreal. I originally didn’t want one after I sold my civic but I was forced to get one and I actually like it a lot now after a year and a half ownership. Luxury cars are the ultimate sleeper daily’s. Not extremely fast but you get more value for what they’re worth, especially Japanese and not the euros in my opinion.
I completely agree. I was just in the market for a 07-08 type s but the pickings were slim. The ones I test drove didnt feel right on the highway. Had to make a different choice.
13 More awesome cars under 10k picked by this random stranger: Toyota celica! (Good ol’ Toyota reliability) Mazdaspeed Protege! (If you can find one) Mazda RX8! (Watch for reliability issues) Mazda 3! (GT, or if you find one, a Speed 3) Volkswagen Jetta! (1.8t or if you can find one, a VR6) Volkswagen Corrado! Pontiac Trans Am! (V6 and V8 can be found, but they will be older with high km) Pontiac G8! Also if you get a 7th gen celica make sure its a gts or if its a gt, make sure its at least an 03 model. Otherwise youll end up burning a quart of oil a week.
I bought a 2001 2dr 5spd Civic last week with 212K for $3200. It was owned by an old couple its whole life and drove back and forth to work for years but its still strong. Very well maintained. And honestly its a blast to drive. Light cars always feel quick. Its just a lil project. Always wanted a ricer Honda. #goals
yea I found some that are 88k miles but they are around 15k-20k and that s from a dealership, they are not that hard to find, but I don't have that kind of money.
Eh Golf mk2 or a mk3 gti? Seem to be around €1000-€2000 euro's here. But it would cost you about the same per year in tax and insurance as the purchase.
Nolan has really grown on me. Great job on this video dude. And for the record, both the G35 and the 350Z still look great, especially when the headlights aren’t fogged up.
This video made me so happy. I've owned 6 of the cars mentioned here! 2011 GTI, 1992 Civic hatchback, 1992 Ford Taurus SHO, 2014 Fiat 500 Abarth, and still have a 1992 Jeep Wrangler Yj and a 2002 Honda S2000 (that one definitely is a keeper!)
How bad was that Abarth honestly? I take the train to work only drive 1 day a week to the grocery store so I could deal with an unreliable car probably.
@@Jessecwebb It wasnt! I only sold it because I no longer wanted the car payment. I believe I had about 15,000 trouble free miles on it. Nissan 370z - Tokyo drift intensifies. Subaru - basic car if you get it new, but its a 6/10 AMG - pls. S2000 - don't over rev it pls (Yes, I know it's a fun car list)
I bought my '08 Honda Fit (non-Sport unfortunately) for $8000 three years ago so I'm sure you can find great examples around 5 - 6k now and while it isn't the fastest, it is a super reliable, fun car to drive.
I just dont think they're as valid as these though. Maybe the first ones but at that point what the hell are you going to get for 1-2k bucks american muscle wise?
@@AssyrianKing4ever Not really. Most are Japanese, and as such, will last over 200k or even 300k with regular maintenance only. The American and German cars in the list are definitely ticking time-bombs though.
@@brianstraining6474 I'm with you with the German and American built. As far as Japanese and Korean go, I'm not gonna have a Miata as my daily. I'm sure you can find a clean Miata with low miles under 10k that will last you a decade. A G37 under 10k will most likely have around 130k miles on -- NO THANKS. S2000 under 10k has a lot of mileage and also not a daily and I wouldn't use that as a daily. I would say the best car for the buck is a 06-08 IS250 or an IS300. It has class and could a very reliable daily. JUST MY OPINION :D
@@AssyrianKing4ever Again, any Japanese car can easily be kept reliable even if over 120k miles. If you don't keep up on the maintenance, you'll have issues with any car you buy. I have a 170k mile G35X with no issues whatsoever.
From a mini cooper owner- If you buy one make sure its from a legitimate dealer that will stand behind the sale. It has been in the shop many many times in the less than six months ive driven it. I might just have bad luck , ive been rear ended by a lifted truck and its been broken into, but be super careful with buying one. Definitely a very fun car to drive when its not broken.
you forgot you can buy the underrated mk3 supra from 6 to 12k, at least in europe, and for that you have a car with pop up headlights and a 7m or 1jz engine that are beasts!
You want a volvo 740. I've bought two clean cars for under $500. Both needed a fuel pump. Very simple. Very dependable. Tank Safe. Great mpg. RWD! Tunable. Becoming trendy. Wagon or sedan. Turbo if you want. There is no better cheaper car.
I got a 05 Celica GT for 3500 and it was the best car I’ve driven so far. I loved the handling, the sporty feel, and the gas mileage. God it was unbreakable until someone pulled a left turn in my face and broke my baby😢
Bruhh I have a 03 Matrix XRS (with the 6200-8300rpm ecu 😎) and its soo much fun! Tons of power for the street and the 6 speed gearbox, Supra-like steeringwheel. Shes bone stock just with a k&n drop in filter and some homemade “intake mods” (aka a hole in the bumper for COLD air intake!! And so you know, that hole in the bumper made a WORLD of difference in power!! 4000-5500 rpm isnt a big dead spot anymore!)

I’m your typical mustang fan. Drove a friends Honda S2000 for a day. So much fun to drive! Banging 8,000 rpm burning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Anyway, 2000 mustang gt for sale.
My ideal cars under $10k would be: 2007-08 G35. The HR motor is awesome, has a 6MT and looks beautiful. Pontiac G8: looks sexy, has a V8 and is rare. 8G Civic SI: high revving motor, light, fun, 6MT with LSD and huge aftermarket support. 335i: a sexy sedan with a twin turbo i6 with a lot of potential is hard to beat. Galant VR4: 4G63 in a sedan and AWD. Very rare car. 2010 Acura TL with a 6MT, SHAWD and 3.7 V6 engine. It’s a sleeper, the AWD system is superb and handles amazingly. Quality is good, refined yet visceral experience and i love how it looks. It’s my ultimate daily.
Yes I’m gonna monitor those turbo seals closely and be very careful to warm up my oil before revving and to let it idle before shutting down. It helps that I have a turbo timer! I was actually looking for a WRX or a Speed 3, WRX being my first choice. But I am soooo glad I chose the Speed 3! No regret whatsoever! Here are the reasons : 1 - The Subie tax up here in Canada is no joke. I would basically have spent double on a similar year WRX. 2 - I love the Bose sound system in the Speed 3. In the WRX nobody listens to music since the audio is dog shit. You can change it but it is more money and a hassle. 3 - Six-speed transmission. 4 - Stiffer suspension, less body roll than a WRX. 5 - Less maintenance, lower costs The only tradeoff is the AWD, but I drove all my life in snowstorms in fwd cars and never had problems. Now I have an lsd so still an upgrade!
You made a good choice. I’ve got a 2004 Subaru WRX and the problems these things have are definitely real. I’ve had problems more often than not ever since I bought it. The engine only has 42k miles on it too and it’s stock. The AWD is awesome though. I never had a problem with my fwd Civic in the snow, but the AWD is awesome. It just claws into the ground for traction, but can still be thrown sideways if you want. I Also like all the waves I get from fellow subie owners. But all in all they’re just too problematic and unnecessarily expensive. I had to buy a new idle air control valve and it cost me like $400 (USD) for the tiny part. The engine also ticks on a cold start and goes away once it’s warm.
Up here in MN, RSX Type-s are pretty rare. Especially thee 05-06 models. They usually go 5-7k around the twin cities. Got mine for $6300 and 109k miles.
So which of these cars are you thinking about picking up? I can't choose! Let me know.

I was actually looking for a WRX or a Speed 3, WRX being my first choice. But I am soooo glad I chose the Speed 3! No regret whatsoever! Here are the reasons :
1 - The Subie tax up here in Canada is no joke.
5 - Less maintenance, lower costs
The only tradeoff is the AWD, but I drove all my life in snowstorms in fwd cars and never had problems. Now I have an lsd so still an upgrade!
@@vaselinos5597 MS3 is a sleeper. The WRX has a lot of issues with the engine and transmission.
