    DeWalt DCM848P2: homedepot.sjv.io/QqdoP
    Powered by the DeWalt 20V platform, this Brushless polisher doesn't lack on power. In fact, in our 23-polisher shootout recently, it took 3rd-place in the Cordless division, finishing just behind two very stout Flex machines.

    Nice video. Been using this tool for 3 months. I keep 6 battiers 5 Amps. I do a lots of paint corrections, polish and sealers. Works well for me. Just bought Ryobi cordless DA. Planning to use only for quick polish, wax and sealers.

    As a current prestige Euro car detailer who’s beginnings were restricted to the safety of a DA, I got this machine after being enticed by the cordless factor but have since found its only use is finishing & waxing - I tend to use if for the latter - is supremely quick & easy to apply wax but it’s basically about as effective as baby wipes when it comes to anything more. Round the same time as buying the Dewalt I also got a corded Makita DA with forced rotation but pretty much use that exclusively for a brush attachment tool to clean carpets n floor mats. That’s because after going through the hard yards of learning how to use a rotary in a paint n panel business (change of work thanks to COVID), I kind of feel from my experiences that you can’t go past the efficiency of a solid rotary. Others might feel differently but I hope my 2 cents can save others a few hundred bucks, unlike me (though I got it all refunded back as taxable expenses anyway).
    Since departing paint n panel & returning back as a prestige Euro detailer, I pretty much use a rotary for cutting with a wool pad, rotary + soft pad for finishing with the relative compound/s, small pistol Milwaukee polisher for scuffed window trims/etc & use the Dewalt cordless as a sealant wax applicator.

    Is it better than Ryobi dual action cordless polisher?

    Is it heavy to do vertical panels? Will it work for paint correction? Is it ergonomic or tires your hand in 10 minutes?

    I have the DCM 848 20v and i agree with the review From living with the unit doing semi pro work, ie part time hustle, it does requires some break in but after that dialing in the speeds works better. Dewalt triggers/dials are all kinda like that though. Its is also variable speed with a lock feature very handy. The backing pad is not a standard pad and can not be changed out with another company, a beef i have with the unit but not much of one seeing how strong it is. I"ve done a Single stage paint correction using One 6 AH battery on a 2019 mustang with 2 bars left. No reason to be going ludicrous speed all the time. I do have a pair one charging and one in use. AH and two 2 AH that were with my cordless tool kit that i rotate in and out to keep the 6ah charged up it also makes the unit easier to handle in tighter spots and lighter. As for vibrations and noise its not really bad at all i've used it for hours and i don't have that numb arm feeling in my arms after a long session. If you have 5 inch hook loop sanding pads it should work as a sander never tried it though.

      Thanks so much for sharing your experience with this polisher. It's really not a bad polisher at all, and it will definitely get the work done. Compared to a FLEX, the DeWalt needs some refinement, but that's also reflective in the price. Glad it's working for you. Thanks again for watching and commenting.

      @@Plin321 till the charger light is solid. It depends on the compound of the polish as well. i use griots fast correcting cream. I was also polishing a mustang not and suv. Some require a lot of pressure. which will wear the battery out faster. If you having cutting issues try a more aggressive pad or different polish. I own this polisher and enjoy it. I noticed that you guys didn't talk about its trigger lock and that also everyone that was using the trigger lock either. With a cordless polisher, one of the biggest things to me after getting the trigger locked is to find a way that to hold the polisher in a more comfortable position.
    I've AIO polish on a sedan with one battery just barely. It depends on what battery you use. M18 5.0 can take more amp load those can last while awhile.

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Sorry about that. You are right, and we've covered this in other reviews. Once the trigger is locked, you can grab the back of the tool, near the battery and guide it where you want it. Wow, if you can polish the whole car with just one battery, that's really good. Thanks for watching.

      That's not a bad idea for occasional use, but we definitely don't recommend this for regular use. OPM not RPM this is why I despise all this channels, they spit out all this BS without knowing a damn thing. It's not a grinder! DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT 5500 ACTUAL RPM WILL DO TO A CAR?!

    This tool is absolutely junk. I have 2 5ah powerstack batteries a 15ah battery and went through all 3 buffing a 2023 Nissan frontier. Here's what happens and DeWalt engineering department can't figure it out. Start with fully charged batteries 15mins and drops from 3bars to 2bars when it does it cuts speed in half so have to put on full speed to compensate. This tool is absolutely freaking junk literally have to have 4 or 5 batteries available to do a small car or truck. I think DeWalt should recall all of them
