@@bigd9848 If you just got the Ryobi 18 volt cordless polisher, return it unless you're just going to use it to wax car. It's not good at all. I have lots of Ryobi tools and was so disappointed with the polisher. It came to market way to soon. It was NOT ready to do real detail work. Handle is slopped because the battery sets the wrong way and the polisher must run at full speed. At least the one I had.

Just behind the front and rear wheels on vehicles that don't have mud guards. Or. The bottom of rear wheel flares that get hit with spray from the front wheels. The areas that road spray beats on and "fades the surface". What's the best way to bring those spots back to life? Or is it too late?

I've been waiting on your review on this. I love mine. Again, I wait until Xmas to buy my cordless tool batteries. It cost me less money to buy, on holiday special, a DeWalt tool set that came with 1 - 5AMP battery and 1 - 8Amp battery, then it was to just purchase a 8AMP battery by itself. Now I've got my eyes on the Milwaukee Tool M18 FUEL 15mm Random Orbital Polisher and their 21mm Random Orbital Polisher because the FLEX polishers/batteries are made in China, so why not, and the (just what I need... more batteries) cost is around the same price range as the DeWalt and sound/look like they might be more powerful and added battery life. My DeWalt polisher and batteries did come with 3-year warranties, so that was great plus. Thank you for this long awaited review, and the battery is turned the right way. The DeWalt being longer will help with those long hoods and tops of vehicles for detailers that have to really reach out. Did you also get the Cordless Rotary Polisher from DeWalt too?

Have you been inside of it at all, B? Do you think it’s a durable build internally? Did you swap the grease out? I always enjoy the teardown and build quality breakdown you’ve done in many of your polisher reviews.
The weight is the only reason I never picked one of these up. Really hoping the new Milwaukee cordless will keep the power but lose some of the size and weight. Plus I’m already in their battery platform so I’m really hoping they deliver. I bet I’ve sent them over 100 emails the past couple years requesting they make a cordless DA. Their M18 rotary is awesome, tons of power. 👍✌️

Where the heck do you get a good strong backing pad for this da? I have it I don't love it I like it but the stupid backing pad I can't find any because of the stupid 4 t20 screw setup. On my buffers I only use 5in and all my center screw ones I got 3m backing pads on and would never lose a pad with those the DeWalt seems not as strong Velcro. Also they really missed the mark on the battery issues. I did a one step on a 07 Camry and went through 2 5ah DeWalt battery and had to take the one off the charger to finish. I was going to buy a 12ah battery till I seen it's 300 for the battery. Seriously thinking about selling this and finding something decent. I do like 20 cars a summer and no way will this do. It's a shame these companies don't consult with us detailers when making product and not a construction worker lol

Okay, great review of the product, it apparently does the job well with power to spare. But how does this compare to other similar polishers in the same price range? Will you be using this every day? Will you keep it as a backup or is this going on Ebay and using the $ to get another one to review and not changing your daily work? Is this "fine" if you are already deep into the Dewalt tool line, but not a buy otherwise? Which polisher is on top and where does this rank against the others?
