@@ScottHD Someone has to actually test products under real world conditions, exploring all aspects of usage, while stripping away the marketing BS. Consumer Reports had that rep, now Project Farm, Gamers Nexus (for PC hardware) and others carry the banner. People crave that truth, before they spend hard earned money. I think you're doing that effort justice! Testing is truth. Btw I know several other detailers in Los Angeles that watch your product testing. It's really useful.

Thank you for all the work you put into this. I purchased the dreaded Ryobi because I've got 7 batteries and a charger that charges 6 batteries in series (one after the other). I haven't used a buffer/polisher in a Long time, I have one of those super heavy duty ones. I do worry about the heat on the Ryobi, but I haven't used it yet. Since I'm not used to a small polisher, I'm thinking that maybe I can use the D Handle. I can always return it, but with the low vibration, I'm going to give it a try.

And a spreadsheet with great collection of data, this is product comparison at it’s best! ….I especially appreciate the vibration data; as an older guy with a lifetime of chainsawing, weed whacking, edging etc. I have learned too late that Reynaud’s syndrome (lumberjack disease) is all too real and irreversible. And the constant ringing in my ears has taught me too late to protect my hearing, so you are really doing a great service to the younger detailers with a lifetime of tool use ahead of them. Thanks for the great reviews. I have been using.cycle polish ers for about 20 years. Very heavy but I have had good luck with them for my use. I don't run a detail shop anymore but will buy one of these cord less for.my personal use.

Thank you. Cyclo are great polishers but yes like you said very heavy! These will feel light compared to that one!

Wow wow wow. A big THANKS to you Scott and your whole crew for all the time, work, money and effort you put into making this video.
I was personally hoping The Ryobi would’ve turned out much better, because I have a number of Ridgid tools and I can get an adapter to use my existing batteries. I believe if Ryobi would’ve used a brushless motor it would’ve solved runtime and heat issues but they didn’t.
I have 11 buffers now, all plug-in so I want to add a cordless product to my arsenal.
I’m thinking of the Dewalt but whatever I end up purchasing I’ll buy it through your affiliate link.
Thanks again for all your fine work

    A tremendous video. Thanks.
As a weekend warrior, I needed a machine about a year ago, and I got the DeWalt since I already had a couple of batteries and because of the long warranty. My assessment of that machine coincides with yours.
My only complaint is the noise. I finally decided to use some foam ear plugs, which improved the experience immeasurably.

I have tons of detail equipment and high end cordless tools and bought the popoman off Amazon a year ago with an extra 4ah battery and 1/2” impact for stupid cheap and it’s been amazing . Good pads and some ultimate compound will blow your mind …. It’s great and having an extra 4ah battery always on the charger eliminates any downtime …. It’s by far the best smoothest bang for the buck cordless unit you can get and has held up perfectly

Well I wait for version 2 of all these machines since none of them are refined enough. Scott thanks for the humongous amount of time and energy you put this polisher show down. Maybe on 3 inch polisher battle a cordless will make more sense. Love you test Rupes Nano vs SPTA 1 inch polisher in a showdown.

Sooo much info that I never even thought of until watching this video! Very good & thoughtful process put together 🙌. So for a weekend warrior like me who also runs a small detailing business on the weekend which one would be a good one for me to look into for starting out that’s dual action? It’s been about a year since I’ve last used a buffer too, but still got the concept of it. I like the idea of having one that’s not crazy loud (no ear protection), has good run time, decent charge time, not a lot of vibration to wear it’s uncomfortable to hold, not really heavy because that also makes it uncomfortable to hold honestly. I’ve been looking into a cordless one mainly because I hate the idea of having a cord accidentally rub/hit a vehicle during the enhancement/correction process. Good work! Would love to hear back from you on what your thoughts are & what ones would work best me!

Thank you for this great informative video. I almost picked up the Adam's. 20% off at Adams site.
The drawback for me before I watched your video was that they don't sell extra batteries. Supposedly the SPTA battery works with the Adam's. It was mentioned on Amazon for the extra battery from SPTA. Looks like I'm gonna go with the DeWalt, which was my third choice, but may look into the Popoman. (just have to get past all the colors though 😁). Again, thank you for this 👍

Been detailing for 25 year’s and owned my own detail business for 13 years. I use a dewalt corded rotary for heavy cut or deep scratches. I use my Bigfoot 15 for paint correction/Polishing. And I use my dewalt cordless from the video for finish work. I have two batteries with a fast charger. I can do any size car with two batteries. By the time one battery runs out… the next is charged. Takes about 30 minutes for a full charge on fast charger. Forgot the size battery. I didn’t want a heavy one. I think it’s the middle size one. Good weight distribution. I can even do some mild polishing with the dewalt. I find myself using it a lot! Just love the no cord. Nice to not have a cord over my shoulder dirtying my shirt! Hope this helps some people. Guys want the best all in one polish and wax? Rupes 1 step.

Great in depth video Scott. Been polishing for 34 years and switched to cordless about 2 years ago. Retired 28 corded polishers. Using 9 cordless polishers now. Not just polishers, all led lighting, vacuums, water sprayers, fans, blowers for drying are cordless. Not having a cord over the shoulder and having to always adjust it, is huge. Also for things like lighting, vacuums, fans, etc, no worries about tripping over the cord, especially when clients drop by to see their vehicles. I find it makes work flow smoother. I find using the manufacturer’s fast chargers are best. And having at least 2 of every charger is the way to go. Plus several of each battery. The DeWalt yellow fast charger, charges their 5Ah battery in about 50 minutes. Was just wondering why no cordless rotary polishers were tested?

    • @ScottHD
      @ScottHD  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Thank you. Definitely looking into the rotary ones for a future test but the reason I hadn't tested those yet is because there are SO many of them...I would have to limit it to about 10 or so. Knowing how this TH-cam thing works, the 10 I would get would end up with comments like "why didn't you test xxx brand" no matter what I did. With the cordless orbital ones I literally bought all of the available options so that comment couldn't happen

Love the vids. I ordered the Dewalt 2 days ago, not knowing anything about it other then the name. Normally I spend a ton of time researching before I throw down $500, but this one was a spur-of-the-moment thing. Glad to see it preforms well, tool vibration is a big determining factor for me. I love my Flex 3401's but they do rattle your brain.
