It was just a silly joke. Also, when you are in India, you won't have peanut butter for breakfast unless you go out of your way to get some and can't live without it. I hate it when people dissect jokes in the hope of looking smart. Good comment. Half of the times Vir Das is not even funny, but he compensates that by making some "oH tHiS iS hOw bAd iNdiA iS" commentary. And the viewers immediately get their attentions shifted from his so called comedy to the "sOciAl cOmmEntAry" & then their overall reaction to his bit becomes less critical, which otherwise would have been more critical coz of how unfunny he is.
He reminds me of those teacher simping students of every classroom in school, who compensate for their lack of abilities/skills/intelligence by engaging in simping of teachers & saying big filler words to get good marks.

Personally, I prefer desi mungfali chatani to it. However one can make peanut butter at home. It is not that special .
      2 cups raw, shelled peanuts,
      salt, 1 to 2 tablespoons,
peanut oil or other oil (optional, for creamier peanut butter) 1 to 2 tablespoons
honey or other sweetener (optional, for sweeter peanut butter)
Optional add-ins: 1 to 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon or other spice, handful of chocolate chips . Whatever.
Roast the peanuts, mix ingredient. Grind it crunchy or smooth as you like.
We often put more effort in coconut chatani is we include grating part.

Conan is one of my favourite comedians and Vir is not but Conan is also very entrenched in this NYT-CNN-Hollywood woke ecosystem where every story about India is a negative story and that's how they form a perception of our country and then top it up with cherrypicking and confirmation bias. Not to say his wife has a podcast(not a comedy podcast) where she had her freind (some NRI lady) just spreading misinformation about India claiming there is a godse portrait right next to Gandhi' in the Indian Parliament so that tells a lot.

Is this the freedom of speech u both always talk about. This is not freedom of speech. This abusing heritage and culture of india. Everybody has the right to express their views but under certain limitations and they cannot abuse their motherland in a foreign country. The western media is hypocrite. In india there every journalist has freedom of press. In india many journalist and TH-camrs like dhruv rathee, arfa khanum, rana ayub ,akash bannerjee and ravish kumar always spread propaganda and fake news against india

Just pray it never happens to you, India recorded 51,677 r@pe cases in 2022 out of which 3829 minor girls, you only be a statistics then.
