Things you loathe: consider embracing them. You may become happier and more interesting. 😊 (Just a random thought, not at all calling you or anybody not interesting.)
Those people were in denial that his previous relationship was toxic. Just based on his comedy alone, its clear his previous wife was very controlling and demanding, while oliva munn seems to love john for who he is. John used to say jokes like "I love my overbearing mean wife because shes confrontational enough for both of us!" but that was clearly as a cope. In reality, having someone whose always angry/on edge/looking for things to be upset about is a horrific way to live. 2:53 is why we need the whole podcast in video form
Even though he brings me enormous joy, I don't know John and this is very parasocial of me (a posture which I loathe) but it really makes me happy for him that seemingly, his son has truly changed his life and helped him get rid of his demons. When he announced his relationship with Olivia Munn and the imminent birth of his first child, many said the writing was on the wall and this was a textbook case of a guy that will relapse but this conversation truly gives me hope that he has turned the corner and those assumptions are just a bull load of cynicism.
Here's to you, John!
Not that you would care. 😂
Things you loathe: consider embracing them. You may become happier and more interesting. 😊
(Just a random thought, not at all calling you or anybody not interesting.)
Yeah...the hell with his amazing ex wife he abandoned.
F#&$ this guy.
You always feel like youre walking on egg shells because you never know what will set someone like that off. Hes thriving now that hes with someone who likes him as he is and can go with the flow as opposed to fighting all the time.
@@nullakjg767 I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS THE ENTIRE TIME. If you listen to his comedy attentively and many times over, you'd know they were not good together.
@@nullakjg767 Comedy is about amplification of truths, and sometimes not about the truth at all. Comedians always make critiques and caricatures of their partners on stage (often with their full consent). She seems perfectly lovely (read her beautiful essay about losing their formerly shared dog for a sense), and he was an addict with a self-confessed desire to be liked, which is always really tough. We don't know. By the way, she was hilarious in Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, she just didn't want Jerry Seinfeld to choose her carpet.
I have a hard time listening to podcasts but if i can watch them like this? I mean I'd watch all day, especially if John Mulaney is on.
these two could do a show the way Steve Martin and Martin Short have done. prob not the insults, but they have good flowing chemistry
Congrats to John on upgrading his hair from LEGO PERSON to POMPOUS DOUR.
Not a bad interview. I’ve watched it twice ❤
I was shocked that they didn't talk about the intervention and Conan being insulted that he wasn't invited.
Thanks, Conan. What a treat. l love you both.
Ditto everything that Conan said about John! And Conan, you are greater than people know (yet).
Truth.
My grandson being born changed my world.
It took me this long to appreciate the world on that beautiful of a level, our children's point of view.
Why isn’t the full video released anywhere?
I would think as a performer, you would want criticism. But only listen to criticism that makes you better in some way and is constructive.
As an old man, I think that's how I've always received it and it's how I dispense it when I use a critical eye on something.
As for boring interview, no interview is boring to me, especially from a famous person, when they talk about what really makes them , them.
John's boy brings out a side of him we normally would not see unless he shares it in an interview with a friend. I don't think anyone wouldn't find that interesting, unless they are a narcissist.
Thanks John for that beautiful picture that you put into our heads about some of your interactions with your boy. Made me smile.
✌️😊
hes talking about pathetic female fans who were invested in his previous relationship because they saw themselves in his ex wife who was apparently highly controlling, over bearing, confrontational, and argumentative. They are furious with him because he divorced her and then got married and had a child with olive munn who had always been nice to him and loved him for he who he was instead of trying to change him into someone else.
0:56 did not expect Jeff Ross to be name dropped I’ll tell you that much
Imagine the garbage workers that see this kid and his dad just follow them around every morning thinking they're being sneaky. That's gotta be entertaining
“Is that…John…Mullaney?” -one garbage worker to the other
please upload the Dartmouth conversation between Conan and John !
Good lord that baseball story is so sweet
Yo! I just realize Conan podcast is almost as BIG as Joe Rogan when he was on TH-cam and its Awesome.
Plz do a show with these two every week
Love these two ♥️💪♥️
9:37 felt like the spirit of Pete Davidson occupied John for this brief moment
