This game was so awesome. I was addicted to it. I wish they would come out with the modern version of this game based on today’s technology. But then again the way I was addicted to. It is probably better when they don’t.

Nice video Thriftweeds. Do you know if difficulty setting have any impact on missions - like adding more (hidden) objectives on harder difficulties? Or does it only changes AI being more adept and increasing score you may obtain?
Yes. Like on this mission #1 The transport Glich (bonus) and Escort Shuttle group Tough 1,2,3 wont show up on Easy and also Medium i never encountered Glich or Tough group (but i dont know it's random on medium). and yes Ai is more adept , on harder levels it adds more A,B,X-Wings in groups and better maneuvering especially for A-wing for me it gets almost impossible to hit in highspeed pursuit and being small. and yes you get higher point's (scoring)
I seem to remember also that difficulty affected wingman AI. My bro told me when we were kids that setting it to hard meant that your wingmen got better as well as the enemy. Not sure if he was trolling, now that I think about it...
They need to remake this game for console!!! Plz!!! The most fun part was doing the secret missions for the Emperor. Getting a new piece of the tattoo every time you could do the extra missions. I played one mission so many times. And could never figure how to accomplish.
I have noticed that in DOSBox while adjusting cpu speed, joystick starts to have sensitivity problems getting to aim it right , causes over-targeting (oversteering) so it messes the aiming then another problem could be the worn potentiometers in joystick also. This all makes targeting very hard.

this seems to have so much more substance than flashy new games like Squadrons. Nowadays everything is effects and "cinematic experience"

Our pc did not have sound of any kind, just the pc speaker. I think it added something, no audio in a quiet house.

Thanks for clarification. I think I remebered that first mission differently when I played in on easy mode the first time.

there are way too many keys for console. or they'd need to make special menus and that may be an issue
