Google ain't everything... I use microsoft outlook email(Gmail) & Microsoft One Drive(Google Drive) . All the other apps such as TH-cam Advanced (TH-cam) are in Huawei App Gallery or petal petal search even Google Maps & Chrome are available for download nd to use. So it's not a problem without Google play services . You Still get updates from App Gallery as usual.. #huaweiP40 Pro #5G

One question, have you had any problems with notifications? I assumed that since some apps rely on Google APIs for sending notifications, that might cause problems.
@@amiralavi6599 Hi mate, most apps don't show notifications as they rely on Firebase Cloud Messaging Service. This is where people will watch reviews on TH-cam and think app cloning or the App gallery or APK Pure will solve all their problems, unfortunately it won't as many apps won't work as they rely on GMS on core app functionality i.e notifications, location, widevine etc. Chris won't mention this though as Huawei are paying him (nothing wrong with that btw!).

Good video. I bought the P40 lite to actually see how it is without Google services. Tbh it's not too bad an experience. Biggest problem I had is Google calendar synchronisation so my work around is to use Microsoft Outlook email as it has the calendar feature. Watching TH-cam on the mobile browser version is a little limited but not a deal breaker Mainly it's a case of using mobile browser versions of some of the Google apps.

I would like to know how are you going to make an update latest version for those apps that you can't get at huawei app. Such like Facebook, Instagram and Whatapps and others. And also how are we going to backup our chat on whatapps since there is no Google Drive. Above this issue is what I am still curious before I make my move to purchase Huawei P40 Pro.. Hope to get your reply or video to guide us soon...

The lack of Google Services will put most people off though
You'll be surprised at how easy it is to get by without them. The biggest loss for me would be the TH-cam app, however there are ways to sideload GPS which is an option to everyone. Some GApps, like Maps, work without GPS.
@@epicgrapefruit7563 I suppose it comes down to if you want great hardware vs GPS. In my case, I'd choose the former, but I understand what you mean by most people not wanting / knowing how to sideload. I'd be interested to see how I'd hold up against no GPS. I think it won't be that bad, but I also understand some people are heavily reliant upon GPS.
@@epicgrapefruit7563 Not remotely anything I said claims that only Huawei make good hardware. You cannot, however, disagree and say that they aren't at least heaps and bounds ahead of the competition in some departments, rivalling top manufactures. This is why they stood out, and the P40 Pro, Mate 30 Pro and even the P30 Pro are great examples of that. This is what I meant by 'great hardware vs GPS'. Watch any review on TH-cam on their recent devices and they all mention hardware being exceptional.

How are you finding it without the Google messaging services and apps? I am due an upgrade but I need access to banking apps (Pingit is a must) but none of them will work without GMS? I am tempted with the P30 pro, but may need to move onto a new brand altogether which is a shame as it looks a beast.

You can install Aptoide and download Netflix and other apps from it (like Call of Duty Mobile).
If you've already done the bypass to get Google Mobile Services and then after you've got it they patch it, will you still be able to use it or will it be patched.

Hello. Thank you for this video :) How is the haptic feedback on the Huawei P40 pro? I own a P20 pro and I am not fully satisfied with the haptic feedback. Compared to those of the Iphone and the Pixel Phone, it feels very...cheap and simple. I hope Huawei fixed that. Can't wait to try this phone at the store!

Is this and AD for Huawei .... Stating that it's display is awesome etc etc , sure it's 90hz , but it's nothing short of normally as for it's resolution . And the screen gets blocked by the camera cutout . And Apple or Samsung with qhd would look much better .

Just like Apple users being locked in by Apple Cloud, I think many Android users, myself included, are just as locked in by GMS. We've become overly dependent on it.
Competition is always good. It keeps Google from being complacent and too puffed up in their own ego.
And to be honest that statement is probably true, however Google are relied upon by users across the globe. Also Huawei software updates are not quick either. I will be sticking with my op7 pro Andy maybe at some stage the op8.

@@JKOOLjam1234 i think they do actually offer a good product, yes occasionally they have bugs,but they give what the customer wants generally. I had the Huawei p20 pro, loved the phone BUT the updates on the phone were not rolled out evenly. Waiting months for an update which the home base got quickly.

Thing is, Google updates are so much behind the rest of Android world that most people don't miss them. They add features that everybody already has. Security updates are another thing, most companies usually send one out every other month.

The 30 pro is an ok phone , I wouldn't buy another though ,
Seeing design elements on the 40 that are almost identical to the the 30 ,
That would be enough for me to steer clear of it too.
Add too that emui👎 , and huawei apps 👎, (and no google apps to make it even worse), and was I seeing things or did the dreaded mali strike again with huge frame drop at one minute 30 ...... see the car racing clip .
Personally i would look elsewhere ,
There's a stack of other very good phones already out or about to be released in a matter of days.

@@amrmohamed2719 Doesn't suck. I've had the Mate 20 for a year and a half now and the phone is still incredibly snappy. Battery life is also still the same: simply awesome.
