    The MOST DELICIOUS dish i've ever had in my 49 years on this earth, My grandmother cooked it, stuffed with ground meat, some people do shrimp, cooked in coconut milk.

    That sauce is everything with bittermelon 🤩 Also love that you mince the pork by hand! So good for the texture 👍

      Aww, thank you!! The sauce really makes the dish! It’s flavorful and savory and works so well with lessening the bitter flavors. That part is such a labor of love, laborious but rewarding!

    This is total Grandeure more so than just humble after the can of soup I just had. The other night we had sweet n sour meatballs with pineapple and bell pepper on rice! This looks similar! Good for You!

      What?!! Bitter melons are the best part!

    • @sammarithinang_pannarith
      @sammarithinang_pannarith ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sdlock83 The meatballs are the best part. The soup is the best part. Anything else is the best part. Not the bitter melon. Even the name of the melon says it’s not the best part 😅

      @@sammarithinang_pannarith Lol you have to eat it with the right mindset. Just imagine the meatballs are the "main entree" the juice are the side dish, and the butter melon portions are the garnishments.

      @@sammarithinang_pannarith It does taste good. You don't add sugar and complain that sugar is too sweet. You don't add salt and complain about the salt being too salty. You don't eat stuffed butter melon and complain about the bitter melons being too bitter.

    • @feibabacooks9202
      @feibabacooks9202  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but not quite! The filling in the bittermelon is basically a meatball, but the flavors are not sweet or sour in this dish.

    Why I never thought of cutting the mellon up first before stuffing the meat in? I've always tried to stuff the meat into whole mellons which is much harder to do...

      You can use dry sherry or omit it! and for fermented / preserved black beans, you can usually find them in asian grocery stores or here on amazon - amzn.to/3vnqHah

    The pork should be fully cooked before stuffing in bittermellon or else your pork is half cooked and eating half cooked pork is dangerous to your health.

    • @feibabacooks9202
      @feibabacooks9202  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely fully cook your pork!!

    • @racingsquirrel238
      @racingsquirrel238 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The frying locks in moisture and provides the seal, while the steaming process will cook up the inside. There is no limitation on how long you steam, the pork fat will render and keep the inside moist. He says stop at 80 percent on the initial fry to give room for this process.
