    Have you tried bitter melon before? It's something I've grown to love over the years. What kind of food didn't you enjoy as much growing up but love to eat now? 🥦🍛🍜🍝🍠🥗🥒

    My mum used to cook stir fried bitter melon with pork in black sauce it definitely is an acquired taste, over the years I got used to it, now I appreciate the health benefits. Your dish looks really good and so tasty. Thank you Thun for sharing 🙏🏻😄❤️👍

      I'll have to try stir frying it. This soup doesn't have a bitter taste at all, though the bitter melon has a slight bitterness. It's not very noticeable. Thank you for sharing and for watching 😊

    Looks delicious. My mum sometimes makes this soup and I’ve grown to like it more over time too. Bitter melon can definitely be an acquired taste

    Looks like noodles in the ground meat, when and how much do you put in the meat for stuffing?

    Love this! Is there an alternative to the cilantro stem and root?

      You can use cilantro leaves instead. The flavor of cilantro is not noticeable but blends in with the flavors to add a nice fragrance. You can also leave it out.

    I have access to frozen bitter melon in a local Asian store, would this work for this recipe & do I treat it differently to fresh? I’m not sure the defrosted melon would hold up to soaking process or if that would even be necessary? I do think the frozen pieces (which are a lot smaller & may not work for stuffing) still have the white pith.

      I’ve never used frozen bitter melon before and curious if it will become mushy when defrosted. I’m sure it will still taste good. You can treat it the same way to a fresh one. If it doesn’t hold up, you can add the chunks to the soup and make meatballs with the filling to drop in. That would work too

    I bought bitter melon, I'm going to make the recipe, but I have a question: why does the bitter melon have to be cooked for so long?

    • @ThunThunChannel
      @ThunThunChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I boil it for a while to make it soft and so that it can absorb the flavor of the soup too. I hope you enjoy it
