What’s the weight of the 4 boneless chicken thighs ? I need to know as the size of the boneless chicken thighs in my supermarket looks way bigger than yours . Thank you for this lovely recipe with all the food hacks included .
Hi, they're around 1- 1.2 lbs, I think. If you use the bigger than mine, the marinade is still enough for them, although you should cook them for 1-2 mins depending on the size.
Yes, definitely! I recommend baking it at 400F for 17-20 mins, flip half-way through. Also, brush the glaze and broil for another 1-2 mins (it's easy to burn at this time, be careful) Let me know how it turns :)
Hi what kind of cooking oil is being used in the marinade and the glaze? Just made it w/ avocado oil in marinade and EVOO in glaze. lol. Should I be using neutral like veg oil? Also anyone know how many calories are in 1 serving estimated?
I totally agree that fresh lemongrass, especially the upper part is the best. However fresh lemongrass is sometimes unavailable in my area. That's why I use store-bought frozen lemongrass, and that's what I got :(
Typical youtube clickbait titles…. But I haven’t run into any recipes, on any platform, or in cook books that isn’t complete BS on cooking times… NONE of them consider the time it takes to pull out utensils/bowls/supplies, clean/prep/chop/organize ingredients, cook, plate, THEN clean up afterwards! If I weren’t so lazy I’d write a “reality” cook book that included all that. 😁
Awesome, looks so delicious and tempting, thank you for sharing, big like ❤👍 new friend here, i have a cooking channel too, i've subscribed to your channel 💕🤗🌷
I need to save this, as I don't have my air-fry pan yet (1 week) 168 hours later, One eternity later, (2000 hours I guess) plus the marinated time, and cooking time. Somehow this video from 30 minutes became endless time consuming. Misleading title.
I apologize for any confusion! If you're short on time, you can try marinating for at least 15 minutes, but for the fullest flavor, I recommend 2-hour marinating. Thanks for pointing that out!

The dish is not too sweet to me, you can adjust the sugar as you like. Honey helps the meat moisture, so I don’t recommend you skipping it. Of course, you can taste and add chili or any spices to your liking ☺️
Two batches were made. Maybe one batch was recorded from one side and then when almost completed with the second batch the sides were flipped different.
I hate sugar, honey, molasses, etc on my meat!!! Every time I see a shiny piece of cooked meat, I just ignore it because I know it has something sweet and that's what happened with this recipe also. That's why we have an obesity problem in the world and so many diabetics. Stop the sick abuse of sugar!!!
I hear you-everyone has different tastes, and not everyone enjoys sweetness in their meat dishes. It's totally okay to skip the sugar or sweeteners in recipes like this if it’s not your thing. Omg that’s a great idea to freeze shallot and lemongrass. Thank you for the life hack!
You can also freeze garlic too :)
I agree with you ❤🎉😊

Frozen is a good pre prep method to have in stock when cooking and saves time

Love Vietnamese food. Perfect fusion of French, and Chinese elements.
There are no French nor Chinese "elements" there. Vietnamese are Austroasiatic therefore Austroasiatic cuisine
The fact 80% vietnamese originated from china

Hi friend 😊 yummy chicken 🍗 hope you get more success 🎈
We always marinate the meat ( chicken, pork) at least 8hrs to overnight to get the flavor right into the meat.
Wau so delicious my friend

I would use all avocado oil. Olive oil has a flavor.
@@ConstantlyRepeatingMyself Cold-pressed virgin olive oil has a strong flavour - regular olive oil is pretty neutral tasting and good for cooking.

Any Asian grocery store. It's available fresh and in the frozen section already blended up.

Why frozen ingredients?
They chopped up and froze a bunch so they don't have to chop every time they're going to make a meal. It is frozen fresh and thawed out as needed.
@kevkeisha Thanks for your kind explanation. It is much appreciated 👏
It lasts longer when it’s frozen and less prep time.

Fahrenheit? Real Vietnamese cooking uses Celsius! This is a travesty! Anyways, this is among my favorite chicken dishes now.
