Admittedly my experience is very limited. Although personally I think they're both hardy fish with the biggest difference in survivability is how good the particular batch is.
Neons are famous for their poor health due to overbreeding and poor breeding practices. They are notorious fin nippers. Their lookalike cousins, the cardinals are healthier and don’t nip fins.
This was a really helpful video, thanks Shaun. I’ve been considering these two species for a while now and this video helped me settle on Cardinals.
Cheers mate, yea I think Cardinals are the better option :)
Cool video
Cheers mate :)
Great info and beautiful aquarium!
Cheers mate :)

I think green neons will be the next species I get but dont have the space for a tank right now.
Wanted green neons but it seems a 12 gallon is too small?
Do you also have a cruise channel? You sound identical to someone else
No mate, if its Cruise With Ben and David they are from my home city though :)
Those albino Cory are full of eggs !
Yea at least one has been laying eggs all over the tank the last couple of days, I think two are just fat though as they never stop eating >.

Totally agree mate, the specific breeding line will play a big role.
Your corys are a very different shape, not seem them like that much
Yea two just constantly eat and one is spawning :)

Agreed mate, I was really lucky with my bunch of neons but some of my friends have lost all of theirs within weeks.
