I got a Diablo set of t shank jigsaw blades that worked almost flawless. Had to take up to a 1/4" off the length of each to make them sit inside the Surge

I use one or two layers of silicone tape on the t shank based on the thickness required. I cut out the t shape with an exacto knife. The tape has not worn out and each blade gets the perfect thickness.

Assuming you still have the files for the thumb openers and the insert to take the slop out of the thinner blades. Wold you be interested in selling them? I'd definitely be interested in buying them from you. Thanks.

When I was on the Leatherman site looking at accessories I saw a screwdriver bit that had a carbide tip, they said it was for the Skeletool and wouldnt guarantee that it would work, but that's an easy addition. Also, by microbits, if you mean the 4mm ones Wiha makes a 1/4" to 4mm adapter, as do others.
I'd like to see a way to mount a scalpel blade, even if it's on the T-Shank. Sometimes you need a crazy sharp small knife for precision work.
Because I've been watching you, my used Surge Gen 1 came in today, love it. Got it based on your reviews, would like to have the Gen 2 pliers but can do that later.

The glass breaking bit is fitting all leatherman that have an exchangeable bit driver.
The reason they say will not work with others is because of the damage that bit can do to your tool if used in the intended purpose. The skeletool have a frame and the bit holder designed for that instance and others no. So if you use it with other models is a possibility do damage your tool from the impact. This is my opinion. Is not a fact I know. I do have those type of bits with me and I am ready to use them accepting the risk but Leatherman as a company cannot advise that. T-shank to scalpel already exist somewhere but do not ask me were. I don't like the scalpels. They cut well only the soft material as they are done for tissues. I hope the new tool will e useful for you and you will enjoy it.

I found a craft knife blade that fitted in the tshank, tape it to the blade holder in the back of the pouch, works nicely. my scalpel blades didnt fit, but i might grind them in to shape glue on a filler piece of metal

First, from what country are you from, and second question, do you have a small play at the blade holder ? not in the lateral but front and back even if it isn't any blade in there. Thank you, great vids

Hi, Thank you for the useful info. I understand you work in plastics but I would like to know what blades you recommend for camping for cutting green and dead wood. Looking for an agressive fast cut that is a long blade. The supplied blade is very good for wood but it is a bit short. Hope you can advise
There used to be a japanese t shank called sk11 which was perfect, 21cm and very aggressive fast cut but cannot get them now

For camping I use victorinox rangergrip or woodgrip

Great vid thanks. I'm a new Surge owner. I like your hidden blade, can you make the 3d print file available for that little holder for the spare blade? Also where did you get those little thumb grips (plastic or rubber??) for deploying the knife blades? Thanks again good work.
