  • Mechanical adjustments for the Anycubic Vyper. All of the bolt holes have enough clearance that parts can be moved some while they are loose, Tightening them to have the printer square is very Important. Plus having the v-rollers adjusted correctly.
    hese videos are not sponsored, I am just doing them to help out everyone just getting started out 3D Printing in the Vyper community. The videos and editing are all on my time, and not as easy as it looks with the editing. I am still learning also. Please be kind, suggestions and criticism is always welcomed. hello Bob, good video, but I would heat up the bed before adjusting the X axis. Everything should be right when it is heated up. Every metal warps a little when heated. Best regards ... Torsten

    • @B3DPrinting
      @B3DPrinting  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey bud, there definitely isn't any reason to NOT heat the bed. Since it is just the bed being measured to the x gantry, and not having nozzle expansion to deal with also, and no actual z height being measured, and pre auto level, I think it gets close enough with a cold bed. That being said, you possibly could get it slightly more accurate with the bed heated.

    My Vyper does not have the little plastic Z adjustment tabs with grub screw. There are two metal fingers (not adjustable), one on each end. My calipers show a difference of 0.18mm difference from left to right on the z-axis. Is this acceptable?

    Hi Bob - I know you're a Vyper expert, so I wanted to see if you could help with changing colors on the Vyper. The screen is stuck!
    I've followed directions and looked all over the place, which all seem to go through the same steps.
    However, after putting the new filament in, pushing it through so it's the right color, and clearing out the "ooze"it's stuck on "Paused. Waiting on cache commend to complete." It doesn't return to the main screen where I can tell it to "resume." (This was after/is during a 15+ hour print, with 2% left, so I don't want to just turn off the machine.)
    Any ideas? Thanks!!

    Hey bob. Im drawing a blank with my vyper. Any clue why my Z axis is printing about .5-.75 above the bed? Ive auto leveled the printer over and over. It hits the limit switch and wont go any lower. any advise would be wonderful.

    So this may be a stupid question: But if I loosen the screws on the x-gantry... do I tighten them again? And how much should I loosen them if not?

  • @Tester13032

    If you had a 123 block or parallel block would that make levelling the gantry easier? Appreciate the videos on this machine.

    • @B3DPrinting
      @B3DPrinting  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is a different world, I come from a background of plc and automation, 37+ axis machines. I'm totally for using a 123 or parallel block, but most beginners are going to say 1 2 what? If it was a multi head machine with a cnc, I would say definitely, but with printers, especially with auto leveling, being within a couple hundredths is an extreme. Typical first layers are .2mm, if you have the bed or gantry variance to that before auto leveling, the mesh will be able to compensate adequately. Great question!!!

    The motors should not moved when they are enabled as the user risks damaging the board. Belt tightening is to be done with the power off or motors disabled only.

    Any chance you'll be making a video on how-to convert the Vyper to Klipper on a RaspberryPI?
    Thank you SO MUCH for the videos that it have done, by the way. Super helpful!

      There is a possibility in the future, but I am keeping this Vyper stock right now so that I can keep making videos on the stock model. Anycubic is supposed to be sending me a new Vyper. If that happens, I can start making videos on modifications.

    having a hard time trying to adjust the set of two rollers on the outside on the spool side of the gantry. Anyone have suggestions on how adjust it so it's tension with the vertical part of the gantry is 'tighter'?

    Any feedback back on this unit vs the Ender 3 v2 would be much appreciated. We are looking to purchase our first 3d printer and it's so hard to determine what to buy. Blessings and respect from Canada. Thank you .

      Get the ender. Better third party support.

    • @littlecube141
      @littlecube141 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have both. Too be honest it depends on you. I like the vyper. It was so easy to set up and go. Small adjustments. The ender v2. Man I spent a ton of time trying to get the right settings and adjustments. If you have the time, than the ender is fun to tinker but if you want something in a all in one package than the vyper. I upgraded my ender with PEI Bltouch silicone washers new fans. And it pretty much the same price after everything. So it might be worth getting the vyper.

    • @mmusgrove
      @mmusgrove ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Ender is non-stop tinkering and adjusting. The Vyper is awesome right out of the box and needs little/no adjustments. I have 2 Anycubics and the service is awesome. They're based in China, and not Louisville, KY, so you have to consider the language and distance (and cultural) aspects. Especially now. Before 2020, I got the parts fast, but the shipping from China now will try your patience. But it's worth it to me, not being my only printer.
      Anycubic has sent me countless free parts to try and fix faults of mine, for free. Enough to build a new printer I'm sure. So I don't know what the Ender fan above's talking about, but I can vouch that the Vyper, (and Kobra now), are great. I also have a Prusa Mini+ which is a great machine. I find I don't need the print bed space 99% of the time, and if I do, I just move it over to the Vyper. I have othe printers but these 2 are my "go-tos."
      EDIT: I see the guy above's talking about "3rd party support." Not Anycubic's. Explanation: There's not a TON of mods for the Vyper because it simply doesn't need any. Yes, yuo can get the usual Capricorn tubing, nozzles, etc... but it prints great out of the box. After tinkering with 3D machines for years, I got to where I was largely sick of modding and tinkering and now just want to print as cleanly as I can, as fast and easily as I can. When I do want to mess around I have an Anycubic Mega S for that.

    So how do you adjust the Z if you don’t have adjustable stops? Mine is off.

    • @B3DPrinting
      @B3DPrinting  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anycubic was supposed to send me one of the newer printers so I would be able to help with them, but I still only have the first that I had bought. Can you check to see if maybe the holes that hold the triggers on the uprights are slotted, or maybe move slightly when loosened? How far off is it? If it is too far off for the auto bed level to correct, you may have to see if anycubic will send you a set of the adjustable ones. Let me know what you find, maybe I can make up something to help and put it on thingiverse.

      @@B3DPrinting I guess mine are adjustable!
      I just watched your other video (th-cam.com/video/eZLl9FnAOVk/w-d-xo.html), mine have that little set screw. I would have never known those were adjustable.
      I ended up having to adjust one all the way in and the other all the way out, which is ridiculous.. But, the gantry is now level to the bed.
