    Thanks for the video! I noticed I needed to zip tie mine because my cable was muuuch loser than yours, so it wouldve possibly drooped down over my print. One additional thing I had to do for mine was calibrate the Esteps. Mine was pretty significantly underextruding from the factory, I think I ended up changing my estep value by 10% or so. I didnt know we could change the side the spool is on! Thats super helpful, though honestly the aggressive rocking bothers me too so that holder might change later.

    Thanks, just got my Vyper couple of weeks ago, i was impressed with my i3 mega and mega zero 1 so thought i'd stay with anycubic, and the features of this are great for the price. I also had to zip tie the main cable out of the way. A fair few people are saying their strain gauge fails after a short while, perhaps they level the bed with every print or the pressure while printing causes it to fail but mine hasn't yet after about 80 hours printing.

    I got my Vyper a few weeks ago and I've had a lot of issues with it. The OWL print came out well but nothing else I tried would print properly even with uploading the OWL's parameters into the program. The machine would layer shift SEVERELY. I tried contacting the company and even they had no clue what was happening, but instead of repairing the machine themselves or offering to send me a new one, they simply sent me 3 replacement parts and told me to repair it myself. Of those 3 parts, 2 of them didn't match what came on the printer so I don't know if they were newer models or if the printer didn't come properly built in the first place. I also found that I didn't receive half of the tools that should have come with it, such as the clippers. I only got the wrenches, 2 nozzles, and the nozzle cleaner. This is my first 3D printer and I was ecstatic to get it, but it's been a lot of headaches currently and I am hoping this video will help solve at least some of them.

      I have had a lot of luck with this Vyper and am enjoying it. The Ender 3 has a large communtiy of people to assis with questions, that is the main strength. Auto bed levelling and the upgraded stepper drivers for me were the biggest selling points on the Vyper. Some good Black Friday sales happening too at anycubic.com.

      I have the ender 3 v2. It's a great printer but you really have to spend a ton of time tuning it in. Leveling it and the extruder is plastic. I put about 100 bucks in upgrades. Just installed a Bltouch and a new PEI bed and now it prints amazing. I just bought the vyper and waiting for it. Hopefully I will do some videos on both. Which one did you end up going with?

    I just got a Vyper, the first couple test prints were great, the line quality at .08mm is amazing. But I'm getting extremely bad stringing now, tried changing temp and retraction, has no effect, The feed tube also seems well connected, so I'm kind of stuck at the moment.

    • @onionface5835
      @onionface5835 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justinbuczek3941 I managed to fix my issues after many attempts. I removed and reinstalled Cura, selected the Vyper profile and kept all settings as standard, and made sure to use the same standard print profile for everything, The only thing I change between prints is thickness and speed. I think at some point something setting I adjusted, or something I printed affected the print profile and caused the stringing. I also lowered the nozzel temp to 185-190 which seemed to help, that will depend on your specific filament.

      Slowing down seems to help if you are going for quality. As I was telling another person, when I get strange behaviors I try going back to basics; be sure things are clean and try the default profile, then go forward from there.

    I just got one. I have a question about how to clean a clog- how do you do it? I can't seem to get a ticket started on their site and I don't want to break anything with my ignorance.

    • @renaissancelaboratories5645
      @renaissancelaboratories5645  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess it depends on how bad the clog is. I can try to go Prepare, Filament, then Filament In. This will heat the nozzle to 230 and you can press the button to feed filament and maybe press it. OR you can hand push a piece of filament, but either way this is not for severe clogs.
      For a more stubborn clog, you can repeat the step, or manually bring the temp to 230. Then, carefully use the long needle that came with the Vyper in the tool drawer, this you can push into the nozzle. Keep in mind the nozzle will be hot and don't push the needle too far in. Then I'd try step one above to see if you can push filament through.
      If all that fails, you'll have to take the hot end apart for a more thorough clean (one it's cooled, of course.

    Have you tried replacing the Y belt? I feel lost on how to do this

    • @renaissancelaboratories5645
      @renaissancelaboratories5645  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't needed to replace the Y belt yet. This machine is similar to other machines like an Ender 3 or Creality CR6 so if you find a belt replacement video for those it should be very close. In any case, I'll hazard a guess at the steps:
      First power off and unplug the machine.
      Next, loosen the belt tension using the front tensioner until there's enough slack to slide the belt off of the rear motor gear.
      Next, remove the cover that holds the belt tensioner on the front, the plastic piece.
      Now you'll need a short allen wrench to loosen the four horizontal wheels beneath the build plate. I used a hack saw and just shortened the wrench that comes with the Vyper.
      Once you remove all 4 wheels on the Y axis, your whole build surface should be free enough where you can disconnect the belt.
      Reverse the steps above. Belt to build surface, hotbed wheels, belt tensioner at the front, slide the belt over the rear motor gear, and tighten the belt.
      Then power up and auto level.
      I might be missing a step or two, but this should be the meat of it. Best of luck and thanks for watching!

      Hi Danny,
      I've heard that a number of users are having issues with a failed auto-bed level, it might be worth reaching out to support official@anycubic.com. I purchased directly from Anycubic and haven't had any issues. I've only auto leveled after firmware update or after a disastrous print where the hot end collides with the model. Best of luck and thanks for watching.

      Hi Daniel,
      Something similar happened to me when I started getting brave with my choice in models as well as having may parts on the build surface. I have a video coming up that I think will be very interesting to you as far as some of the printing issues I've had, my suspected root cause, and what the fixes were. I also have some Cura config info in the vid as well.
      For bed adhesion, a raft is often helpful, especially if the pieces have small contact points to the bed. Temperature that matches your material is important. PLA will need different bed temp than PETG, not just nozzle temp. Thanks for watching!

    cables...
    What I did was reposition the bed cable UNDER the extruder cable where it comes out of the control box instead of over it, It takes a wee bit of fiddling to get them to change position but its easy done. Then I removed the tiewraps from the bed strain relief and twisted the cable and angled it to the right (looking from back) away from the Y axis stepper motor, while holding the cable like this I re-tied it to the strain relief with some better quality tiewraps than came with the machine (they are like elastic bands!)
    This has completely prevented the cable going anywhere near the stepper, it goes straight back from the bed parallel to the frame and has been that way for weeks of printing.
    The Extruder cable, I put a tie wrap around it at extruder height, then made like a little cable tie chain to the runout sensor mount to hold it upright. The cable to the carriage now goes over the top of the extruder, and does not snag on anything at all, the bed cable runs square to the frame sides back and fore, again not snagging anywhere..
    I mat make some kind of fixing for the carriage cable instead of the mash up with cable tie chain, but it works perfectly well even if it looks a bit heath robinson.

  • @stefanbraun4030
    @stefanbraun4030 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think it is much better to run the cable from the extruder over the tube so it fits better with the tube and has more leeway. If the printer head is moving to the extruder motor its also better to let it wrap over it.
