- Sailor Moon has it's fair share of Monsters of the Week with almost every single episode involving one. While most are forgettable as they were designed to be thrown away by the episodes end some of them are just interesting enough to have a conversation about. So in typical fashion for the channel I have taken every single Youma and analyzed them for your viewing pleasure.
As always a big shout out to MissDream for supplying me with the scans of the series. They are an invaluable resource to this community. While they are always my go to asset for all things Sailor Moon the Data Files for all the Youma are from their scans of the Anime Album so without them it wouldn't have been possible to get every single Youma.

The long awaited follow up is finally out as well if you haven't seen it already please check out the video on the Cardians. Eventually every minion group will be gotten to so a playlist will be made once Droids get finished.
I’m so glad you made this video. I love the Youma and it makes me miss when the monsters used to be apart of the story within the episode. Later on they start to just appear when it’s time to fight. Even though a good bit of them are misses, I do like their inclusion.
Every time I rewatch the series I remember not being particularly fond of the Youma. Mostly due to how blatantly filler they feel to the overall narrative and how they get in the way of focusing on the more interesting antagonists; the Shitennou; but after doing this video I've grown a bit more appreciation of them for what they are.
They aren't boring like the Droids are, they aren't tacked on weirdos like the Lemures, they did their own thing.
The Daimons in the first part of season 3, with the black stars on their erogenous zones, were all works of art
I have a rather soft spot for all the Daimons myself. Probably my favorite of the "monster" archetypes.
binah's design is so elite she really stood out even against the other devil youma
It's a good design. I don't think I did her dirty in B she's in good company.
I love the concept of monsters of the week. You never know what wierd and wacky creatures the heroes will fight each week. It's really exciting to get that feeling.
Some of them have just fantastic designs as well.

Castor & Pollux and DD Girls are like evil versions of the Sailor Scouts. my favorite monster was Hypnotica that was used by the evil sisters

I honestly planned this one for Halloween but I think it turned out rather well with a bit more time in the proverbial oven.
One of the rainbow crystal monsters was a woman with wings.
What a unique video! I can't believe I've been a Sailor Moon fan all my life never thought to look into the lore behind those silly, skippable monsters-of-the-week! Bravo!
They only get weirder and more forgettable as the show continues.
Sailor Moon has a lot of the weirdest monsters. The later seasons got a lot weirder monsters
Yeah some of the monster designs during the Dead Moon Circus Arc were just very very strange.

Great vid, I know it must be annoying when these don’t come out on the time you want but I still enjoy them.
I think this one turned out better with the extra time and research. The original was just me talking over a Youma tier list I made.
now that you mentioned PGSM at the end, i'd love to see a video on those Youma as well
Only issue with covering the Youma from PGSM is that they completely lack names to analyze so I'd have to go purely off design. It's something I'd be interested in.

Around the time the whole Rainbow Crystal plot gets added is usually when I mentally check out on rewatches of season 1.

Do you live in my head? Because I've had the idea of analyzing Youma for quite a while now, so I'm glad someone's finally done it for me. As an aside I always thought nobody mentioned how Widow is also a pun off widowhood.
And for another aside, I really enjoyed the video and I would love it if you talked about the other monsters of the series ♡

It's a rather uncommon fear but I think it's a bit of a stretch to assume anyone is afraid of that particular Youma. I'm sure someone somewhere is but you know.

The monsters of the first season were the best - they were truly terrifying. After that they just kept on getting goofier.

theory:
as Chaos tends to create/recruit mostly female generals who are the counterpart to the inner sailors (color palette and powers), such as the Witches 5 and the Sisters of the Hunt.
The DD girls could be creature/general counterparts to the senshi who were created to fulfill this role, but since the heavenly guardians of the earth were corrupted, the role of the generals was filled.
In universe I could see this being a possibility it's not too out there for a theory. Out of universe I don't think they planned it out at all haha

What a interesting🤔 video about the monsters from the first season. Maybe you can do the same with every monsters😈 from each season(R, S, SuperS and Stars)of sailor moon.

Yeah I do have plans on covering all the other monster types. I got a script for the Cardians and Droids in the works but research has been taking time.

I loved having new monsters and stuff but later seasons there was a lot of stuff going on so it felt a bit much but I still love the characters and designs
Definitely around the time of the Dead Moon Circus you see some of the worst designs and the Lemures appear for like two minutes sometimes.
Will you this for the Youma in PGSM?
There's tow slight problems with covering the Youma in PGSM. First and foremost I haven't watched the series in it's entirety; I do plan on it just need to make time. Secondly they lack names so it would have to be a purely aesthetic and power based affair so not as much substance. I'll get around to it eventually though!
