    GNSS gets you accuracy in the meters, not inches. And the RTK module gives you centimeter level precision, not millimeters. Also as good as RTK is, your drone has to be not too far away from the base that sends corrections to keep its precision (for example an Emlid RS2+ receiver the max distance from the base for RTK is 60km).

    • @SeekerDroneServices
      @SeekerDroneServices 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The base station can be 60Km away from the drone and still provide RTK to it? Does it need line of sight? I have a base station near me that's about 25Km away, but my M3E wasn't able to get connected to it.

    • @BassAnywhere
      @BassAnywhere 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SeekerDroneServices Yes it can but you'll lose so much accuracy that it would not be worth it. No line of sight needed, you should be able to connect to it using internet with you phone as a hotspot for the drone remote controller (assuming that the base is casting its data via NTRIP).

    • @andrewmcdermott5415
      @andrewmcdermott5415 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Can you explain why the max is 60km? (not saying you are wrong. Genuinely curious why that is true)

    • @BassAnywhere
      @BassAnywhere หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@andrewmcdermott5415 it depends on the receiver, from the Emlid RS2+ product page: “Centimeter accuracy can be achieved on distances up to 60 km in RTK, and 100 km in PPK mode.”

    Soooo much bad and wrong information!
    For starters he says millimeter... not true... its Centre Meter..
    Also RTK to Go doesn't work anywhere in the world, it works within a suitable and acceptable range of the NTRIP casting bases.
    This what happens when drone people start mapping... please study RTK and GPS theory as this video has so much commercial risk if someone assumes its true.

    Thanks. At 5:20 mark, are you saying simply enter the station name as listed on the map as the "Mountpoint"? For example, the nearest one West of Chicago is YORKVIL; so that is the Mountpoint?

  • @SeekerDroneServices
    @SeekerDroneServices 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I got it all set up and programmed into the controller, but the module doesn't seem to be able to connect to the station near me. It's pretty close - only about 25Km away - but it doesn't seem to connect to it. Does it take time? Line of sight? What is the best distance to be from the base station? Thanks. Edit: tried it again with better weather and it did connect after a while.

    Hello great video and very techishly done. mine says RTK data not in use and my lvl of deviation is 10in plus. So I doubled checked eveything to see if correct yes it is, i am going to try a different hub and see if that brings the deviation back down to mm.. Lmk if you have any suggestions. thx

    @FlybyGuys
    Stephen, hope you are well?
    Would you be so kind to inform me a bit more about this system?
    Does that module run off some kind of power source?
    What is all the costs involved? The module cost, subscription fees
    If i buy one can i charge end users to use my station?
    I see it needs cellular reception. Can i for instance place it where the signal exist and move down to an area with no signal where the job needs to be done but still be connected to the module?
    Is the idea behind the module to be stationed or mobile? If i use it where i go, other users on said module will lose their signal/accuracy?
    Do i still need to buy an alone standing unit for DJI T40 AGRAS to receive the signal? The drone is rtk ready.
    There are none such basis/modules in South Africa, so it makes me wonder is there any reason for this? Maybe url blocked or some kind of regulation from our communications entities or government?
    Registering and setting it up also seems challenging seeing i’m not very tech savvy, i can figure it out but its honestly not my field of expertise. Just want to do my homework before investing money and time into it.
    Thanks in advance!

    So how are you connecting to the NTRIP service? 4G,5G, WiFi (or a mobile hotspot?) and what if the survey is in an area with no connectivity? Perhaps you need to cover off PPK too...??
