I like your vlogs very much. I am from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. And still own my old Rainbow recumbent. 2 20 inch wheels and steering under your seat. Used to organised day trips for recumbents, we once a month drove a nice day with a couple of recumbents. I have seen the velomobiles driving, wow, very fast. But I would not like to drive in busy cities with it, even with a normal recumbent city driving I did not like that much. Climbing hills my knees did not like, I drove in the Ardennes, Belgium. A weak point in my body, I think. But driving downhill, I never forget that. Looking back is still much easier on a normal bicycle. But day trips or from home to work was great. Holidays as well, I drove from Basel, Switzerland back home, 120 kilometers a day easy. With camping gear and all. I drove along The Rhine, so it was flat. Thank you for your nice vlogs!
That 24 min video went by in what seemed like just a few mins for me so interesting was the content! Fascinating to see a bit into the world of development of the velomobiles and what beautiful velomobiles to look at as well. Thank you!
I was born in Romania and been living in London for many years. Is interesting to see the Alpha 7, is beautiful. When i go back to visit, i must go and see the factory they've got there. Thank you John for the video, looking forward to see how it compares to the WAW and DF.
Great video John... It was very informative... The technicians and the shop were very impressive. Overall... it really made me appreciate my aramid WAW with Rohloff drivetrain.
Have you heard anything on the Iris E-Trike yet? I understand it’s likely going to be readily available in the UK first before heading to the states and the most recent update I’ve heard about it was some 80 year old guy from Porsche trying it out, and that’s it. You might of heard of the Sinclair mark 5 and the nephew is creating this commercially available velomobile at 2 to 3 k with features you don’t even get on most Velo’s.
Hi John. I love all your velomobiel videos. You are my main source of information on them. I was interested in the Alpha 7, but after seeing this, it looks like it would be too small for me at 1.90 meters. What do you think is the best fitting velomobiel for taller riders? Thank you.
Hope your audio quality has improved since then. There's a lot of background noise here as well as some undisciplined talking. All together it's quite challenging to follow sometimes for non English speakers.
John, what did you think about the number of bikes while you were on your various trips in the Netherlands. And the reaction when riding along. Certainly it must have been a night and day difference. Where I live I've only a seen a few of them, and most were commuters. Guess even in a reasonably bike friendly country there are differences between regions.
It's funny when over there, as you can be just outside Dronten in your Velomobile at a cafe and the guy serving will ask what it is. And when you tell him that it's made just around the corner, he can't believe it. I've toured across the Netherlands before and it's amazing, so many cyclists, even been in the middle of the school run for four mornings in a row when I packed my tent up and headed off early in the morning.

Just curious John, how tall are you and what is your shoe size? I wonder if I would fit in an Alpha 7. I’m 1.8m and wear a size 47 shoe. I don’t really fit in a standard DF. What do you think? Thanks!
I'm 1.80 tall and a size 44 shoe, well I think my road shoe is a 47.aa it is now I would say that you would struggle to fit. Let's see after the alterations,if I fit then you will definitely have a chance.
I tried to watch several of your videos. They show interesting vehicles but the jerky camera movements made them difficult to watch. The only time the camera is stable is when you are showing your face. May I suggest a gimbal and video editing?

You can stiffen up carbon composites by using a layer of stainless mesh in them. That is how we do it at Boeing!

One great question to figure out for potential buyers of the Alpha7 will the “dealers” be able to fit people like nl worked with you to get fitted?
