Velo-ads. I have a question regarding somone who wants to do a full tour of the planet. What is in your opinion the best velomobile to do it all as I would need a roof in the wet periods That i can put away for the summer time so I Don’t steam up , Would you recommend Quartovelo+Flevoroof or Alpha 7 With racing Hood that you can put behind you when not needed. And how much space would you have for luggage behind you when it’s in there ? Thanks
It would depends on what you want to carry. I would more go with a quattrovelo because you need to pack spare parts too. I would rather have too much space than not enought. Like John says, for touring, the QV is better.
One point to consider is wheels and sizes. Most trikes have a 26" drive wheel, so extra spare tires and tubes. The QV is all 20" so "one size fits all" for spares.
Basically no. It's cumbersome around town and require some strength. Sure it's fast on flat/rolling/open terrain but beside some specific commute it's no replacement. A derestricted E Bike with some kind of carriage is probably more what you're looking for (there are legal 45km/h ebike).
@@TheAntoine191 those require a license I'm looking for pedal assisted up to 25kmh or just a Velomobile without pedal assist I need one as replacement for a car since I can never get a driver's license due to medical reasons a Velomobile is nice and dry in the winter and any weather there isn't a lot of snow around here in the winter it freezes a lot tho but a Velomobile might be the perfect vehicle for me
No one ever mentions the vibrating sound inside velos. You will need to wear ear plugs. It’s like riding in a drum. I love em but you need to know this.
Nice review John, and yes the SL is really Low, the Daily scratching with the Gliding pads on my commuting will be 5000 km for Replacement. The Alpha7 and Quattrovelo are also Cool Velo's. Each has it own benefits and use. I love the Milan because the big entry cool design and fastness.
@@canobenitez No, it's about the engine. over 25 kmh you need a driver's license, so the pedelacs have to stop help you over 25 kmh. Even these e-scooters are only allowed up to 20 km / h, with insurance and a license plate.
@@Bergwacht But this is a pure human powered Velomobile, that means that you can go as fast as you want (or it is legal in the part of the street you are driving).
Lots of well wisher here and good intentions. Seems you are a likable fellow. I wonder why no one has mentioned the blatantly obvious. IF YOU THINK THIS MACHINE IS A GOOD IDEA, YOU MUST BE NUTS.
The drivers do, I ride all over Europe, ie I rode to lyon and back to London in July. Even rode over the south downs with all my camping gear to catch the Newhaven ferry to dieppe en route. No issues at all.
Would it? Where do you live and is it allowed to go fast there with an E-Bike? Here in NL, E-Bikes (without license) are restricted to about 16 mph. In my velomobile I go over that speed pedaling with one foot. Peak speed today was about 42 mph, and that's with a velomobile that's slower than the Milan...
@@4nz-nl and that's why the law is an ass . If you can pedal at those speeds but an Ebike can't go that speed (bare in mind it weighs less than a 50cc scooter) because of the law you know it's about money . Licence doesn't mean safety . People still kill with a licence . FYI people in the UK ride bigger Ebikes and the Police let it slide .
@@SKBKER Actually I don't agree. In the EU, there are a lot of regulations to comply to if you want to make an electric vehicle go 45 kph. And there should be - I can achieve the same speed if I have some space, but a licensed E-bike (speed pedelec) is allowed to have 4 kilowatts of power. I'm a strong sprinter, but nowhere in hell will I ever be capable of pumping out >2 kilowatts continuous from 0 to 45 kph. The accelleration potential is so much bigger that these vehicles should be regulated better. And trust me, if we get to 20.000 velomobiles on the cycle path daily in NL, we will also get laws and maximum speeds for our beloved VM's.
@@4nz-nl 500W like in Canada and 750W like in America seems more reasonable to me . 250W is stupid . I live in a hilly area in the UK and 250W doesn't cut it . The motor gets hot easily, the bike loses power and on windy days although having electric assist is better it really doesn't do much . I took the restrictor off just to see what 500W does and it is more in line with a road cyclist/hybrid rider .
Nine grand? for a posh bike - nine grand?! I could get a 2nd hand Merc for that! wow! Congrats on the dealership though. I can't believe or understand how the prices are arrived at. Sorry but I came from a history of getting bikes second hand and rebuilding them for a few quid to make what you want so it's all weird to me.
Economies of scale and small volume that is manufactured by hand, not by a robot. If velomobiles were manufactured like vehicles then yes, the cost would drop a fair amount. However even high spec 2 wheel e bikes are £5k with no fairing at all. The main reason velomobiles moved to Romania was due to lack of profit margin due to higher wage and rental costs in Netherlands and Germany. The other reason is that the site is larger and can prepare moulds or adapt moulds and start producing more quickly or react faster to design changes.

Cheers Jeff, the indicators are factory fitted as standard. I sure they have a relay.
For me i would probably go for the Qv especially if you are not in a rush,do you really need the QV+?
with the race cap,i rode in extreme heat for days on the way to and from the worlds and it coped very well.
velo-ads what Do you mean the QV+?
Listen can u build a milan with 2 places 1in the front and the other in the back i mean build a really long one is that possible ?!!!
Raderwerks already have, it's called the Milan 4 2
Is this a good replacement for people who can't get a driver's license?
Basically no. It's cumbersome around town and require some strength. Sure it's fast on flat/rolling/open terrain but beside some specific commute it's no replacement. A derestricted E Bike with some kind of carriage is probably more what you're looking for (there are legal 45km/h ebike).
Look for the Pobike for example, electric assist and enough storage space.
@@TheAntoine191 those require a license I'm looking for pedal assisted up to 25kmh or just a Velomobile without pedal assist I need one as replacement for a car since I can never get a driver's license due to medical reasons a Velomobile is nice and dry in the winter and any weather there isn't a lot of snow around here in the winter it freezes a lot tho but a Velomobile might be the perfect vehicle for me
Are these available in the US?
Yes from bicycle Evolution Texas
Here from Tiktok
Hello, I am trying to contact you with regard to buying a Velo can't seem to get anywhere, if you get this message Please can you reply?
How do you insure???
I don't
Someone got a drone for Christmas!
Where can I steal one?
You didn't mention wheel size, does it have front suspension, etc. I like to know what I'm stealing.
Does your new dealership now eliminate a chance of a Hilgo review?
Not at all :)
@@velo-ads4206 What's the chance of a review in the next few months?
@@rever1111 possible as I may be in the Netherlands in Feb, definitely in April.
thanks again john.
the first person riding with the full noise is missing
No one ever mentions the vibrating sound inside velos. You will need to wear ear plugs. It’s like riding in a drum. I love em but you need to know this.
I want to buy one of these and stuff a 20kw motor and 50ah 72 volt battery in it.
And speeding 335 kmh with that in highway. Ghost rider has nothing compared to this :D
You guys speaking my language!
I reckon just a bbs02 will get you to 80mph easy haha
I think even a 1-2kw motor wud suffice to give you a good assit on the uphill bits so u dont slow down too much
safety?
Very cool!
That was an awesome intro with the music and scenes! Great information too🙂
Is there a two-seater model
Yes the Milan - 4.2
@@velo-ads4206 do you have a video on that model
@@mm93mustwin13 not yet.
@@velo-ads4206 do you have any information or pictures I was in

Yeah, I'm liking these!
Nice review John, and yes the SL is really Low, the Daily scratching with the Gliding pads on my commuting will be 5000 km for Replacement.
The Alpha7 and Quattrovelo are also Cool Velo's. Each has it own benefits and use.
I love the Milan because the big entry cool design and fastness.
in germany 25 kmh is vmax allowed for these with electric^^
thats no fun.
What! A normal bicycle can go faster! are there speedlimit for those too?
@@canobenitez No, it's about the engine. over 25 kmh you need a driver's license, so the pedelacs have to stop help you over 25 kmh.
Even these e-scooters are only allowed up to 20 km / h, with insurance and a license plate.
@@Bergwacht But this is a pure human powered Velomobile, that means that you can go as fast as you want (or it is legal in the part of the street you are driving).
Just break the law if it’s stupid.
1960, maybe! I will never change! Biking is so much safer!!!
Anyone else from TikTok ?!!!!???!???
Yes

Lots of well wisher here and good intentions. Seems you are a likable fellow. I wonder why no one has mentioned the blatantly obvious. IF YOU THINK THIS MACHINE IS A GOOD IDEA, YOU MUST BE NUTS.
love it
How can cars see you?
The drivers do, I ride all over Europe, ie I rode to lyon and back to London in July. Even rode over the south downs with all my camping gear to catch the Newhaven ferry to dieppe en route. No issues at all.
Please, hold your cam little bit longer from your face in your videos :-)

if there was an electric option, this would be amazing !
@@4nz-nl yea that stupid regulations...but it would be useful for going also uphill fast
I wished we had good velomobile dealers here in the states.
Bicycle Evolution in Texas?
60kph @180w???? That's insane.
Strava here we come
Do you need a license to drive that
Nope.
is it hot inside of it
That road-camber lean looks like it might be aggravating.
Nine grand? for a posh bike - nine grand?!
Damn that’s sexy!
I want one but I'm fat and poor lmao
