That was what Cuz D'Amato teach Mike. Punch through your opponent.

Right, with proper technique and speed this can definitely be pulled off correctly. However for the beginning fighter this is not something I recommend teaching.

Cuz DAmato didnt teach him that, Mike was just fast and pure power. He was always moving he wasnt puniching through them he was just explosive and ready to counter and get out its his Peek a boo style. ^ but what coach said if youre fast enough it can be done

Have heard that same concept in Kyokushin Karate or so, dont know why bring it to boxing though, cause like you said it leaves you open to counter.

Punching through the target puts lights out, it should be done some time not all the time.

Punch though your opponent is meant to be the power finish at the end of a combination, what you’re demonstrating is a simple jab, which is a set up. Combinations are meant to set up your opponent to be in a position for a knockout punch, which is where that punch through your opponent aspect comes from. And it’s more of a boxing outlook on fighting.

Nah when you see the opening then you punch through your opponent and then duck into your opponent to avoid the return. You should never leave a punch out there because you will get a return. Learn the techniques that will keep you out of trouble. Boxing is a science full of tricks of the trade. That heavy bag serves a purpose because once you learn all the fundamentals then you can learn the tricks. I'm a former boxer and I learned many tricks and this was one of them. Floyd and Crawford both know this trick
