    I just started boxing and I’m self teaching myself at the moment and well, when ever I try and do a inner hook on my right side it feels as if I’m losing balance but when I do it on my left I’m 100% balanced. Btw my dominant hand is my right hand.

    • @dungeonboxingclub
      @dungeonboxingclub  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe its the distance at which you are trying to throw the right hook. Being that your right hand is your dominant hand, your stance should be left leg forward/lead leg. Now if your stance is correct, your right hook should only be thrown when you are fighting on the inside with your opponent meaning you should be fairly close to your opponent. Make sure you are turning the hip and keeping the hook short and fast.

    I’m liking this setup so I don’t have to take different heavy bags on/off the ceiling. I’m going to have my regular cylinder heavy bag always hanging up and have this on the wall

    put a stretching matt behind that bag. bag will last much longer by avoiding scraping

    Hey Cruz what did you use to hang the uppercut bag soo close to the wall ?

    • @dungeonboxingclub
      @dungeonboxingclub  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have concrete walls at our gym. I mounted a 2x4 on the wall with concrete anchors, then hung the bag with chain and lag screws.

    Would you recommend this bag compared to a body snatcher? Or be using the bag for home workouts

    • @dungeonboxingclub
      @dungeonboxingclub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I had to chose one I’d go with the body snatcher as it not only works for hooks and uppercuts but for straight shots as well.

    • @dungeonboxingclub

      I anchored a few 2x4's into a concrete wall and hung it off of that.

  • @peejuu
    @peejuu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Should put that bag in area away from the wall coach it helps with slipping and ducking as well while changing angles and In my option beside the fact you can't throw full body shots like the conventional heavy bag is a much better alternative simply because the ends fly back at you like a fist.

      DUNGEON BOXING CLUB i know i get that advice but i have a hard time putting it all together. Like do i step really far in a little bit, do i step to the side, if i throw a lot of jabs do i step for every punch all that techical stuff thanks.

    • @dungeonboxingclub
      @dungeonboxingclub  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@petervasz3739 sorry man, this reply slipped through and I hadn't seen it. It's somewhat hard to explain via text but I teach what we call half steps, as you initiate the punch you are also taking a small step with the foot from the same side the punch is coming from. If you are right handed, as soon as you begin to throw the jab with your left hand you are also taking a small half step with your left leg then follow it with a right handed punch and step.

  • @fredhills3153
    @fredhills3153 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    We just move to the side a bit and practice hooks and uppercuts, what ever you want to do with a wall bag. Even a straight one two will tire you out to the point of fatigue..
    You can move to the side and still throw hooks and they will almost hit the middle of the bag, dont have to throw to wide.

    GODBLESS BROTHER

  • @josealcaraz1116
    @josealcaraz1116 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    That's nice but a round shaped water bag allows you to jab and slide to your right (if your a southpaw) and uppercut at an angle instead of straightforward. Ex: Mike Tyson
