2024 Toyota Tundra and Sequoias not selling 10k off easy and dealerships not taking em back ?

- I believe you could easily get $10,000 off the tundra and probably pretty close to that with the Sequoia just because of the current situation with the recall and slow sales ! I know there is a video online that says  dealerships aren’t taking these trucks in on trades which is probably true with some dealerships and you know how it is when it comes to trading in your vehicle. If they do take it in a trade I’m sure you’re gonna take the biggest hit in history of trade-ins. lol but here’s what’s going on with the Sequoia as I mentioned in the video ! PLANO, Texas (Feb. 21, 2024) - Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain 2022-2024 model year Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid, 2023-2024 model year Sequoia and 2022-2024 model year Lexus LX 600 vehicles in the U.S. Approximately 280,000 vehicles are involved in this recall.
Certain parts of the transmission may not immediately disengage when the vehicle is shifted to the neutral position. This can allow some engine power to continue to be transferred to the wheels and can allow the vehicle to inadvertently creep forward at a low speed when it is on a flat surface and no brakes are applied, leading to an increased risk of a crash.
For all involved vehicles, Toyota and Lexus dealers will update the software for the transmission at no cost to customers. No one that's paying attention. The more significant aspect is that the recall is unresolved. Only the willfully ignorant are going to buy an engine that the manufacturer hasn't figured out how to fix.

Why would anyone ever buy this recall nightmare? Could potentially be without a truck for months waiting for it to get fixed. Should have kept the reliable V8 everyone loved! I'm on my 4th Tundra, a 2018 Platinum. It looks like my last one if they keep making the trucks with too many components that could eventually fail. V6 engine, twin turbos, hybrid motor, hybrid battery, and all the components to make it all work. With all the things mentioned above that could potentially fail, it looks like Toyota's Legendary reliability is a thing of the past!
I hear you is definitely some risk involved for sure hopefully Toyota has it narrowed down to which ones will have a failure ! It’s already a little bit of stress buying a new vehicle, but who wants to worry about this, but if dealerships could offer a big warranties or extended warranties for free, that would probably help but I get what you’re saying hopefully Toyota will get back to reliability which they are known for. Don’t want the truck until they remedy the engine problem. The values are tanking and these will never have good resale value. Not to mention if you have an engine failure as that would be a huge problem. $10k is not worth the headache or being buried in these trucks.

I was curious for you to look at your tire pressure sticker in your door to see what the max weight is for occupants and cargo on your v6? Then, see what it says for the same trim level on the 4turbo?

The only reason people used to buy toyota cars and pay extra money was reliability. If you don't get that from these new gen toyota cars/trucks then why buying them. Toyota shot themselves in the foot and became more greedy. I don't feel bad for these dealerships either. I remember how they took advantage of people during the pendamic. So let these toyota trucks rot in the lots. We ain't buying them no more.

From what I’ve been hearing is that the 2nd generation Toyota 14-21 has increased in value / price, while the 3rd generation Toyota Tundra has decreased in value / price
2nd gen goes all the way back to 2007. Those are keeping it's value too.

That would be awesome. I think they were trying to do something like that with a hybrid system with 329 hp and 369 pound feet of torque not bad numbers but you do have to worry about the battery in the hybrid system, not so much the hybrid system I believe because Toyota seems to have it dialed in but only time will tell thanks for the reply and the feedback my friend. Tested out tundra I force max and regular one at Toyota Gladstone las weekend. Truck drive like shit. Very cheap plastic interior. The salemam didn’t let me go on freeway, he afraid it’s engine gonna blow up on the freeway. Hahaha

They've lost me on the Tundra styling. It used to be it's own look but now I see Chevrolet Silverado, Nissan Frontier, and Ford F-150 all rolled up into that. Pair that with questionable mechanicals and insidious pricing - I think you will see a lot more older generations kept on the road a lot longer.

I was thinking of a new Toyota Sequoia, but now I am leaning towards an Infiniti Q60 V6. I don't want a hybrid SUV. And I love Toyota. I'm on my 3rd Toyota, but these hybrid/Turbo charged engines on a truck/SUV is not appealing. Bring back V6's and V8's. What are the issues with these SUV's? Maybe, I'm making a better decision going with Infiniti.
Yeah I hear you my friend. The best option would probably be a 2024 Toyota 4Runner but you don’t get very good gas mileage but you get reliability and it still has a naturally aspirated. Until they get that 3.4 twin turbo engine straightened out I would avoid them all together. This is the first time I've ever seen Toyotas carry a bad stigma.. You can expect that from Hyundai and Kia as well as many domestics.

The consumer appetite for expensive vehicles is exhausted and many can’t get the financing from the bank anymore. Bank aren’t taking the risk. A repo crisis is upon us. It’s isn’t just the recall.

Another big issue is the fact that they still aren’t putting a lot of SR trucks on the lot. They’d sell quickly for $10k off. The engine issue is much to do about nothing. My large dealer has had zero issues with the new Tundra engine. Failures are few and far between.
Should have stop sell on these.

The Titan can be had for a heck of a deal. I've seen SV 4x4 trucks with options brand new for $40K amd the 2WD ones are as low as mid $30s. A Comparable Tundra would be $15K more expensive and hesr me out: no tried and true V8

Actually told me some information about trading in a vehicle that I had no clue about I go to a lot of dealerships, and I have definitely met a lot of nice folks. They are regular people just like you and me, but they definitely have a bad reputation and over the last few years Some of the dealerships have been quite shady with all the mark ups and things like that, but these guys don’t do any mark ups, and a lot of the dealerships I’ve been going to don’t do any mark ups as well. I do have to admit, the Sequoia looks bad ass.. and so does. the Tundra but only in the less gaudy edition and in certain colors like the amazing Lunar Rock. And honestly 10K off a 84K vehicle means nothing to someone who could afford these in the first place. 10K is chump change.

People are finally waking up and done with the battery EV hybrid bullshit. That car won’t last 200,000 miles like before. To replace the hybrid battery is 20,000$. They only last about 50K miles before they’re 50% degraded. GO WOKE GO BROKE. 👊🏻👍🏻😁💩
