      Good content as usual this made it very easy to pick the trim. We knew we wanted the mid point in the lineup. However one very important question Jeff. Is the platinum trim comes with a bench seat in mid row?? I hate captain chair set up. 🥹

      Mpg of those cars won’t let me get them, fuel prices are high and I would not want to be on the merci of the government. 35 mpg like the highlander would be nice but 20 mpg is just to low. The highlander doesn’t has a useable 3 row unfortunately so that’s out of question as well. The same amount of people fit in a Mini Cooper like in the highlander. Only if the grand highlander would come through, I would think about it to buy it. With a spacious 3 rd row and 35 mpg.

    • @user-tb5ns7hc5i
      @user-tb5ns7hc5i 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It had better for that price. You could buy 6 , used low mileage 1st gen sequoia Ltds for the price of this base sr5, and they have leather, seat 8 ppl, full time 4wd Center lock diff, removeable 3rd row, 4.7l v8, and roll down rear glass. Think about that for a moment….

    • @AA-vr8ez
      @AA-vr8ez 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@user-tb5ns7hc5i why would I need 6 old sequoias that may or may not have rust, mechanical, etc. issues that may or may not be reported. Not to mention the gas guzzling V8, lack of modern technology and safety. Sorry pal, you’re not really making a good case.

    • @user-tb5ns7hc5i
      @user-tb5ns7hc5i 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@AA-vr8ez you must be a millennial. Lol. My point is that’s it super expensive. Sure it has tech and is luxurious, but it better be for this ludicrous price. An older used Sequoia is a fraction of the price, and in many ways, a more capable and still quite comfortable vehicle with a lot of still very reliable features. It’s a Toyota! Imagine what you could buy or invest in with the savings. Or some really nice vacations. Lol.

    All the comments of the prices. When GM redesigned the Tahoe and Yukon, the Highest trim Tahoe High Country, and Yukon Denali, were about $82,000 with all the bells and whistles, subtracting the $1000 air ride suspension. Add that, they were $83,000+. The Capstone still is cheaper than those, and has ventilated rear seats, along with more power and torque. Only the white color of the leather seats, and power running boards, I don't like. But I would get the Capstone because of everything else it has. Heck an Escalade fully loaded still doesn't have ventilated rear seats.

    Personally, I’d want the Capstone with a TRD 4x4 pkg and a bench 2nd row, plus the ability to fully remove the 3rd row if necessary. If I can’t get that, the best option is a limited with the TRD 4x4 add on and pano roof. Very annoying I can’t option a limited trim with real leather so I can get the bench seat to seat 8ppl. My 1st gen sequoia Ltd has all this with leather and full time 4wd Center locking diff! And roll down rear hatch glass and bulletproof 4.7L v8. Come on Toyota! This new sequoia is better than the 2nd gen, but still not as good as the 1st gen. Why?! At this significantly high pricing, it just makes lower mileage 1st gens very valuable again by comparison.

    This is my first time owning a full sized SUV and after driving the ‘24 Sequoia Platinum for the past six weeks,here are my observations. First the seats are firmer compared to the Expedition Limited and Infinity QX80. Gas Mileage 13-15MPG City 18-23MPG Hwy. it is more fuel efficient to use “Normal” mode when driving on city streets with stop and go traffic. Full tank on a road trip is approximately 450miles. The drive is very comfortable.
    There’s seems to be an issue with the power liftgate. If you opened the rear hatch and not made sure it was completely shut, you will have the error tone when using the liftgate. Indoor cabin is very quiet, ventilated and heated seats are very comfortable. The vehicle does not have the Toyota “Digital Key”but the Toyota App for remote start and lock/unlock works. I am unsure why it was not available. For charging your phones, this comes with both USB A and USB C ports. It doesn’t have the traditional “cigarette adapter”.

      Brand new from the ground up, they are right in line with the American vehicles.

    Which of the 5 models have the smoothest on-road ride? I think the limited has the quietest, smoothest ride because of the tires... Am I right?

      I think the air suspension makes for a really good ride and the higher trim levels. I really did like the SR5 ride. I drove that one for an hour

    Nice cars, to bad every dealer is marking them up $5,000 or more over sticker, in the Chicagoland area.

    Thanks for the video. Wondering how much does "TRD Sport" or "TRD Off-road" cost on top of the SR5.

    Great works Jeff. Informative and entertaining. I was hoping for a low $50k in the SR5 but $60k? That's $10k more than a comparable Tundra. $50k is already way over what I am willing to spend for a vehicle and $60k is insane. I will pass this one.

      This is the new normal until the chip shortage and supply chain issues can be overcome. Supply is so low for the high demand 🤷‍♂️

      @@ARIN4UK I’m inclined to agree with you, which is why the OP shouldn’t “pass on this one” based on price alone. Anything else is going to priced high as well.

    The SR5 only comes with a non adjustable second row bench. My wife’s sienna LE even has adjustable captains chairs in second row. That’s a mistake

      The second row is non adjustable on all models. Only the 3rd row is adjustable.
