Thanks for the great video! We're excited that the Yota Expedition team is enjoying the PedalMonster. There are many throttle controllers on the market, but none of them are OBD-connected. None of them have any idea what vehicle they're connected to. And, none of them return the truck to stock response in reverse gear. They can't because we patented the feature. And, we can't wait for you to test the iDash! The iDash is the single most powerful engine evaluation tool on the market. It displays data that your dashboard doesn't, while also controlling the PedalMonster on-the-fly. It'll be your new favorite instrument.

Thanks! The PedalMonster has a lot of nice features that others don't! It definitely makes a difference on these sluggish V6 Toyotas. Maybe we'll do a video on the iDash in the future.

@@BoostedLunaryou totally can! Did my '17 magnussen on 34's tonight and settled on Sport #1 setting. Install was 20 min, setup another 20(it made me do a firmware update over wifi) test drive 30 min HAVING A BLAST. 30-40 min to figure out/stuff the monster in the kick panel to the RIGHT of the pedal behind center console and coil up the remaining OBDII power cable and ziptie it to white/air ventilation plastic just below the heater pipes(they were HOT) the magnussen supercharger should come with this! Your gonna love it!

Excellent tutorial. Just installed mine on a '22 4runner. Unbelievable difference. I find sport mode mid level to be perfect.
Only thing I would mention is when removing the first factory throttle clip, pinch the clip toward the top of it and it pops right off.
Also if you're installing right after driving, there are some pipes near the clip that are hot.
    Awesome video!

@@mattheww2647 my wife was actually the one who complained about the lack of power. I said the same thing, just push harder on the gas pedal. The 4runner has traditionally been sluggish.
The answer is no. It is a major difference. When you hit the gas it goes! And the pedal monster has a lot of adjustability.

@@mattheww2647 I haven't noticed any change really. Ours is a 2022 TRD off road 4runner. We're averaging around 18-19mpg. As I mentioned, I started in city mode mid range, and it was a nice noticeable improvement. I thought what the heck and tried Sport mid range. And I love it. Maybe a little touchy but easily got used to the pedal. Also I called Banks and asked if you can pair to multiple phones and the answer is no. Good luck

Given the safety features the Pedal Monster has is superior over the Pedal Commander if you're looking for a throttle sensitivity controller and afraid to do a tune. Especially if your taco is under warranty.. Some ( techs that do the tunes) state that it's been 90% undetected.. But if you have an issue and go to the dealership and they pickup on said tune.. your warranty is now voided.. So this is your best option if you plan on playing it safe and not being part of that 10%.

I had a pedal commander on my 2017 power wagon and a different type throttle booster on a Subaru outback and a jeep gladiator. I currently have an APR throttle boost controller on my Volkswagen alltrack. And for whatever reason some people just can’t get their minds around the product. Everybody just tells me push the gas harder You don’t need that. But it’s night and day difference. Especially in the outback that was slow as can be to begin with, it makes it feel peppier.

I am looking into pne of these for my 2023 V6 Tacoma 4x4.
I like most of what the Pedal Monster does except one thing.
Once you calibrate and do all the setup via the app, I would rather not have to use my damn cell phone. There seems to be no manual buttons to change the settings on the unit itself without going back to the phone app.
It looks like to get the visual and hands on manual adjustability without the phone app you need yet another $295.00 externally mounted gauge. Thats alot more than I am willing to pay plus having to remove both before going to the dealer for service. (I'm too old to have to go through all that crap)
I do, however, like the safety features and smoother throttle response.

That’ll be annoying to take down before every dealer trip.. already ordered and on the way with no plans to return but that’s less than desirable.
Still, should be simple enough to pop the OBD off and leave it hanging there then swap the pedal plugs as long as the flooring and panels come off easy.. which by the way was left out of this video and was the most needed part of the “install” 😂
Guess I get to go figure it out and hope I don’t break some clips in my brand new 2024 Limited 😭

    • @yotaxpedition

@@yotaxpedition ah yeah thanks for the reply after watching this I ended up going in there and taking a look.
Might need to pop the center kick panel off to tuck the device up in there but the rest is pretty open. There’s a few spots with some Velcro which peel back pretty easily.
I think I’m going to get some of those phone charger cable clips and strategically mount them. I don’t care if the dealer sees the thing hanging there as long as the OBD is unplugged for them.
Will the controller still work as a bypass if no power is supplied via OBD? Because that would make it even easier, literally just unplug OBD instead of having to both OBD and pedal

Update - I just got off the phone with Banks regarding this issue. They said that their current firmware does not communicate with newer Tacomas (mine is a 22). So both the reverse safety and the low speed trim do not work for me with the module supplied. They say they are working on a new firmware update to address this - which would download over the app when available. However they have no firm timeline on release of this update. Right now I’m on the fence as to whether I should keep the unit and wait for the update or return it for a refund.
