This game was amazing at the time when it was made. I'm happy that Sony decided to give them remaster and hopefully we will get Patapon 3 with full online support.
I thought this is pretty obvious since the game is made by Japanese they are dropping words in their own language Yari = spear Tate = shield Yumi = bow Etc. Nothing to do with what the word means in other languages.
this game is absolutely about meaning, just didnt know it reached down to religion. its quite a creative expression by the devs to make a story which challenge's their religion and reflects on the human condition. and i would suppose with the position of japan, that the sun would be acknowledged as a bit of a lucky blessing

I've finished the first and the second part on PSP back in its days, then started to play the third part and my memory card was broken, so 200 hundred years later I play and enjoy it again 😂

I fell bad for the zegatons. but kind the whole extermination of the nation was their fault, Patapons just wanted to se "it" to be eternaly happy, could zegatons just give patapons passage. the whole war din't need to happen
nah not really since patapons are notorious pillagers/conquerers in their heyday and it's understandable zigotons wanted to keep them exiled out of fear
You must try not only this game but the series too, I bet it will be a breath of fresh air among rhythm types of games and later on you’ll realise it requires a decent amount of strategic thinking which adds extra spice to the gameplay. Speaking of the video creation, as my primary job needs much time it took me about 3 weeks to make the video which is 2 hours of editing a day at best.
"The higher price was paid by Zigatons" Only because the Zigaton lost, having already set a standard of "kill or be killed" and even been so extreme in warfare as to resort to Demonic arts (the fantasy version of chemical warfare). Even then, the Patapon were gracious in their victory, and instead of wiping out the Zigaton as the Zigaton had inteded for the Patapon, integrated both into a new society. The Zigatons in the end gained more the long term, the end of a long bloody war without the generational guilt of participating in ethnocide.
I definitely LOVED this video. The way the main story is told, the humorous touch, but 19:43 killed me from inside... Btw, I'm one from those people who wouldn't evolve their patapons and opt to have them standard just because I didn't like colorful patapons who didn't match with the army general base line. That's why I didn't like dekapons nor megapons xd
As a Christian, the plot of Patapon reminds me a lot of the Hebrews in the Bible. For one, they lost their homeland similar to the exile when Babylon then later Rome attacked Jerusalem and destroyed both temples. Similar to the Ziggatons attacking the Patapons by accusing them of being evil, it reminds me of how the jewish people sadly faced so much hate and false accusations throughout history. The Hero reminds me of a messiah figure. Then in Patapon 2 the Patapons get their land back just as the Jewish people got their land back on May 14, 1948 I know that the biblical account probably didnt inspire the story of Patapon, but I see a lot of parallels
