    The wiper mod is a great idea, but upon giving it a shot i realized that our cars have defroster lines for the wiper blades to rest on. It's a great little aesthetic mod if you don't live in a state with harsh winters though. My wiper blades actually weren't resting on those lines so this actually helped me!

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, this is definitely Subaru's way of trying to make the car more "civilized". Driver's height should never matter once you adjust the seat and the wheel positions. Ideally, all 3 pedals should be somewhat even so you're equidistant from them and don't feel like you're trying to reach for something when pressing in the clutch. Mine are close to even now, but only after adding all the bits that I made.

    The wondering clutch grab point gets to me every time I drive my 2020 STI, I cant get used to it. Im afraid of using a clutch stopper as my dealerships mechanic said this would cause grinding of the friction plate/ flywheel or am I just being told this to avoid legalities????

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah, they are talking about something else entirely. The stopper I make just reduces the travel in between the grab point and the floor, it does not mess with the area where the engagement happens. Most likely they hear the word clutch stopper and freak out. It's actually a larger pedal bump stop rather than a clutch stopper. And it would resolve your issues with the grab point instantly.

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      then your grab point is near the floor, you don't need this little stopper. If it's not shifting smoothly, then it's possible you could've adjusted the master wrong. You should not mess with any of that stuff near the pedal, there is nothing really to adjust other than just tightening it slightly.

    sweet, i've been debating removing the badges on my black wrx, but wasn't sure how it would look- now i have a better idea! Some tinted tail light over lay ( the second darkest option on amazon) for the reverse part of the tail light makes the back-end of that car look so good, I have it on mine. Also, what kind of Rainx spray was that?

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      the vinyl definitely changes the look. I ended up getting it for my car to replace the red ones and I like it way more now. This rainx spray is just some detailer spray, nothing special and smells strong like cologne. It's pleasant at first, but I can see myself getting sick of it fast. My favorite sprays are the griott's garage ones which have super pleasant scents, and the turtle wax interior detailer (there are two: one smells too strong and the other in blue bottle is perfect). I am super picky about this stuff, so I end up going through a bunch just to narrow it down to a few products and then stick to them.

    Are the wiper blades still on the deiceing grids?

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      the wiper blades are still on the windshield about half an inch below where they used to be. Not completely sure about the whole de-icing feature.

    • @MiguelPoblete
      @MiguelPoblete 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If your WRX has the all weather package (I believe premium and up), it contains wiper deicers. They are located on the bottom of the OEM windshield. If you look closely you can see a trace of the deicing units where the wipers would rest. Shifting the rest position of the wipers would negate this feature. But if you live where there is no snow or ice , I guess it doesn't matter.

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MiguelPoblete to be honest with you this little "fix" made such a nice difference on my car, I personally would never revert back to stock even if it hindered the de-icing feature. I'd just de-ice them myself somehow. It's only a problem if you park it outside where it snows. Just having wipers stick out like that was driving me nuts. To each their own, but keeping my car practical was not my intent when I got it, otherwise I would've kept it stock-ish.

    • @TheShaddix
      @TheShaddix  5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      For one, you should not do that at a light. For two, no it doesn't increase the wear as the plates are fully disconnected. You didn't watch the video fully as I explained this there.

    • @BrandonKent136
      @BrandonKent136 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      TheShaddix I prefer to not put the car in neutral at every light. That's stupid the fact of the matter is you do sometimes need to push the clutch in all the way. If not, you wouldn't even need this mod. It's not good for the car. And not it's not completely engaged when you mess with the travel length. I did watch the video by the way lol love your channel! You got the best tips and you have awesome unique mods. I really appreciate your channel brotha. I did that wiper mod. I saw your previous video that talked about it and wanted to do it, and I was psyched to see this video showing how to do it

    • @BrandonKent136
      @BrandonKent136 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Michael DeFilio ok I agree but at stop signs you kind of have to. You have to fully press the pedal when you use it. Like in drive thrus, and shifting even. It's not good for the car and he throwout bearing and it isn't fully disengaged. Period.
