Here are the torque specs from the service manual: Bushing clamp (2) - 22.1 ft-lb Endlink (2) - 28 ft-lb Lateral link 17mm - 59 ft-lb If you don't torque correctly, it will CREAK !!
Pull the end links off with the sway bar if you're going to be replacing them. They can be a pain to remove if you have some milage on the car. Also, this should be done with the rear suspension loaded at your planned ride height. Back on to some ramps... It works really well, just make sure the ground is even.
From the Whiteline install PDF Caution: Always start with softer setting rather than harder. - Always use new hardware if supplied. - Tighten all fittings with the vehicle at ride height
Sorry if this was covered, I didn't see it in my scanning. But aren't you supposed to put the weight of the car on the suspension to settle the bushings before you tighten and torque them?
@@sumitpatil6346 Given these are suspension bolts, they have to be tightened and torqued to spec underload otherwise they might creak or even come loose.
The Y pipe (exhaust) can get in the way of the rear Whiteline Sway Bar. You may need to remove it, easier if you have an Invidia installed. The stock might be a PITA.
Was going to ask if this was mandatory or just a recommended thing... I will probably pull mine, or at least disconnect at the same point, as I already need to replaced that gasket anyways..
I'd say put it upon jack stands while you're doing the swapping, the set it down onto ramps when you go to tighten everything up.. That is what it seems like would be the best way to do it as I've been researching this install lately for both the rear and the front say bars... Plan on doing either lowering springs or coilovers at the same time...
I noticed you install what appears to be new bushing brackets. I'm curious what brand they are or if they come with the bar kit. The current kits from whiteline (bsk018 specifically) doesn't appear to come with those new bushing brackets.
If I install these front and rear sway bars/end links. Along with coilovers, dropping 1.5”. Do I have to change the length of the end links? Or keep them the same length as the oem
Why does no one talk about the booklet instructions from whiteline showing that spacers must be added together in order to shift the centerline at the LCA side of the end links? In theory not doing so would apply a partial lateral load on the LCA instead of just perpendicular. Am I the only one overthinking it? It would be really hard to shift the end link center bolt sleeve, pretty much requiring a bushing press every time you want to shift between Low,Med,High levels. Has anyone had issues because of this in the long run? 🤔
Is there a difference between the WRK and the STI sway bar? I understand there was quite an improvement in the suspension of the '15 suspension and I'm wondering if this will really be necessary for my STI Launch Edition.
The STI has a 20mm rear sway bar whereas the WRX has a lesser 18-19mm rear sway bar. The Whiteline adjustable rear sway bay will benefit either cars and will also fit both cars.
***** after doing the install myself I believe that would be impossible. You'd be unable to put a wrench around the nut next to the rubber boot. Grease your wrench a little to do that BTW.
The support bars come with it. The end links are separate and in the related products on the bottom of the page. www.subispeed.com/whiteline-rear-sway-bar-20mm-22mm-24mm
i see, im not so much worried about the color, i just want the bushings. the kit i bought didnt come with them and i was wondering if they are sold separately. thanks for all your info btw
Or you could just put a small load on the suspension by using a jack so the end links aren't maxed out... but, I know, fuck me, right? lol Seems too simple...
Here are the torque specs from the service manual:
Bushing clamp (2) - 22.1 ft-lb
Endlink (2) - 28 ft-lb
Lateral link 17mm - 59 ft-lb
If you don't torque correctly, it will CREAK !!
Which one is the Lateral link? Just installed this yesterday and I have a lot of creaking on every little bump.
What would the torque specs be for the added brace?
@@Cnbecker9 the same as listed above torque is more dependent on the bolt diameter than the stack thickness

I was going to say, suspension should be under load when installing.

Can u please explain why is it necessary to put the weight on suspension to settle the bushings??

Been following your building since day one, you are definitly making me want a '15 wrx even more. Great videos!
Are the bushings really greaseless? I've read that they now require grease because of noise after being installed for a while.
Use grease to be safe
Should absolutely use grease on the inside and outside of the bushings. I use white lithium grease
I have this set up on my 08 sedan wrx and boy it really keeps you glued to the ground.

Finally got mine installed on MY16 today this video was great thanks alot
This video was amazing in detail, thank you!
This is 1,000,000 times easier if you drop the exhaust like SubiSpeed did.
Was going to ask if this was mandatory or just a recommended thing... I will probably pull mine, or at least disconnect at the same point, as I already need to replaced that gasket anyways..
Thanks for the video. Was really helpful every step of the way
also, what is the torque spec for all the hardware?
can one install new bar on ramps or is it recommended to with suspension unloaded say using jacks?

In this video is that a 22mm sway bar? I know Whiteline now has several versions you can get.
This video was my savior! Thanks!
they include a bunch of Extra washers…what are those for!? I didn’t see this video use any so neither did i
Bro, you wear your watch while working on the car? I'm surprised the watch band isn't covered in black grease yet! 😅
I noticed you install what appears to be new bushing brackets. I'm curious what brand they are or if they come with the bar kit. The current kits from whiteline (bsk018 specifically) doesn't appear to come with those new bushing brackets.
Do you guys have a video on how to put on the front strut tower brace?
What size sway bar is that? 22mm or 24?
What size sway bar did you use?
If I install these front and rear sway bars/end links. Along with coilovers, dropping 1.5”. Do I have to change the length of the end links? Or keep them the same length as the oem
how much torque is required on those bolts? same goes for the strut one. Just curious if it's a certain amount, of just by feeling
when you're installing the rear sway bar/end link does the car need to be on a loaded suspension? or can it just be up on jackstands?
Do u need an alignment after installing?

OCTurboJoe Agreed! Thanks for the reply :)
SubiSpeed Thanks for the video. This is definitely one of my future mods.
OCTurboJoe from what I've read the wrx has a 20mm rear sway.
If it is true, I stand corrected.
Is this the best option for the WRX to experience more oversteer than understeer? Thanks!
Can anyone tell me what size those bolts are? Lol I can’t find it online and need to replace one of mine. Thanks
Is the Whiteline end link really necessary if I don't do track? And if I'm only using 20mm? (just trying to save some $ if it's not necessary)
Not necessary, but highly recommended still.
thank you!. (just trying to save some $ if not required.) this kit does start to get expensive!!
is it ok to fit coilovers first and then fit everything else after wards? or get everything together then align?
what are the torque specs for all the bolts? also shouldnt they be torque with the car with load?
Can you install the rear sway bar with the car sitting on the ground?
Hello do you have to remove part of your exhaust? Thank You
Should have held both ends stationary and adjusted endink with the gold adjuster. Equal threads.
did you take them apart and put grease in the links?
Another awesome video!
would this be fairly similar to the 2008 sti? i'm assuming so.
Great video, very professional!
What do those red pieces of plastic on the endlinks do? Are they just a protective cover for the rubber? I noticed you installed without them.
Atomic Rooster Just a cover.

What are the torque specs for this install?
Read comment above. Was answered.
Where is is the link to the end link on your website?
How does the medium setting compare to stock ??
I still wish you were the guy that does the install videos. Easier to go point by point on ur explanations
That compatible with my Subaru forester XT 2015?
Has anyone tried the soft setting on these bars? If so what was the reult?
did you guys buy the base model wrx?
The little side locks you guys added at the end was that included in the sway bar kit or is that sold separately?
Included in this specific kit that we installed :)
@@SubiSpeed does the lock do anything? other sway bars dont come with them...
Nice looking bar
Is the softest adjustment for the Whiteline more stiff than the OEM?
Yes by 35%
will this fit a 2015 forester

What are the torque settings for each bolt?
+Dustin Christy 33lbs of torque

does all this come with the sway bar on your website or are they sold separately?

where can i get the gold support bushings for the endlinks? i cant seem to find them on your website
Whiteline changed the bushing colors to black a year or so back. :(
i see, im not so much worried about the color, i just want the bushings. the kit i bought didnt come with them and i was wondering if they are sold separately. thanks for all your info btw
Somehow my endlinks didnt come witha 14mm bolt, so when I try to put the 17mm on it just constantly spins...wtf
The new ones don’t have the hex nuts anymore. I instead they have a hex drive for torquing. Had me confused for a while when I went to install
I seemed to miss but, what is the mm of that Whiteline rear sway?
We did not mention in the video what we used, but it is the 24mm. The largest bar that is offered at the moment.
curious, at the time, was the front sway bar stock? whats the best set up for slight oversteer as far as sway bar sizes and adjustment
Could someone assist with the torque specs. Thanks!
Read comments. Answered
what size are the bracket bolts and endlink bolts? I really need to find the correct bolts in order to install the bar
What is the purpose of brace??
Reduces flex and stiffens the chassis.
If possible can you please make a video on it how actually it works
Nice crown and buckle watch band! hahah
What wheels are those??

oh wow. great price too SS!
Man those Rs3's are bald
Change those tyres while you are at it dude.......
Is it
Tires looking kinda bald there
Them tires are almost gone lol
C as was
Put some goddam grease on your threads ! ;-)
I just took the entire bar off with the endlinks still on the bar LOL
No torque specs, no grease on bushings, no measurement matched endlinks, not even correct procedure to avoid pre load.
Horrible tutorial.
Another video with no torque specs...
