These stage 1 have less Marcel spring compression hence faster engagements are needed, if your smelling the clutch just means your feathering too much and your actually burning up clutch material, the narrow margin is always parts of higher performance single disc systems, fyi u smell it then your operating it wrong, look if you can’t drive it right stay stock disc and just upgrade the pressure plate
Sad day, but you have do what is best for you. A big thanks to you as your videos have been very helpful in modding my car. I wish you the best of luck going forward!!
1:05 I know I'm late to see this video, someone in the comments might have already said it, but the crackling noise that's heard when turning the WRX tightly (which is usually heard going in reverse) is the sway bar mounts. My mechanic noticed those sway bar mounts on my WRX are leaking. So I imagine, from the conception of my ownership of the car, they've been making those noises. It gives me a whole lot more comfort knowing where that noise is. One day I'll upgrade those sway bar mounts to something that won't make that annoying noise.
Ur car still smelled in higher gears ? Just got my new clutch and I agree with the Frist gear , it grabs up super high but I have to like baby the gas or I get some smell too and like you said it’s hard to get a nice pull off first , I’m still in the break in period so I do have to baby it for 3-400 miles
dude i still have my gti and you were one of my goto channels to follow on my builds and now i've just bought a 2016 wrx but apparently your already moved on and got a 18 gti?!
I sense that a change may be on the near horizon possibly? You have taken this WRX to a level of no other, I have fully enjoyed your vids. I have had mine just over 3 yrs at stage 2 and just trying to last another 2 and then something else which will be an auto I think again. However I have to say I have really liked the WRX to date... Just hate car payments lol
but these are not the lights in the video. just the harness. i replaced these weak ones with ebay red LED strips later on, wired into these oem connectors.
From what I recall your car is a lease? I’m just wondering what your plan for the car since you’ve modified certain things that cannot be reversed, I have a 2018 WRX, leased as well and been itching to modify it!
When you were mentioning the top hats making a noise in reverse, at full steering lock for the early model 2015 WRXs, Subaru made a recall for that problem. My 2015 WRX had that issue, ever since they replaced them, I've never had an issue since.
dont know, but i do know it was an ACT street clutch. the most basic. i didnt need anything super fancy, plus those tend to cause more issues in long term.
Always hoping you'll get another GTI one day- loved the old videos... I'm about to purchase another VW (3rd one) myself, having recently owned a 350Z HR. You just can't beat the all-round capabilities. That's not to say your WRX isn't cool- awesome DD build!
LastHumansGarage Hey, i wondered the same thing. you're pretty knowledgable with this car I've notice. I've been watching you for quite some time now. And I'm curious as well. What is your reasoning for not using the launch control on the AP?
LastHumansGarage that’s your problem let go of the clutch pedal at 5000 stop riding the clutch out just pop your foot completely off it fast she will deff beat ur 4s
LastHumansGarage I believe is from the center differential assembly. I heard mine in the front wheels too. I took mine to the dealership and they diagnosed it and determined it was the viscous coupler. If you search clunky noise viscous coupler on TH-cam there’s this outback that had the same problem that I had which you might have too.

thanks, nice to see a couple people say something nice on the way out. instead of "unsub!!"
I get the clunk in my 2018 with
man those footwell leds make this shot look pretty sick
i was noticing them too, in the video.. they do look good don't they..
are those stock and if not what led's are they. I am guessing not stock, does look good!
I have them on my 15
For anyone watching, i am doing ongoing raffles for my parts on my Facebook page. Stop by if you want a piece of this WRX action. New raffles weekly.

good tip. but my noise was the top hats.
Love the red LED footwell lights. Got similar ones in my MK6 GTI.
ya i like those too
can you show a link for the footwell leds
7:21 big offft to the clutch there putting it into 3rd.
OFFFFttttttt

EDIT : it grabs up soon as I’m like 10% off the clutch not high
they always smell during break in, doesnt mean they are going bad or anything
@@LastHumansGarage nice , yeah just noticed it like once , haven’t smelled anything sense , almost at 300miles on new clutch
Use accessport launch control and ebrake should help get you off the line quicker :)
thanks
I honestly say your launch is slower because you are running a/c. To get a good time you need to at least launch from 5k.
air con?? it was off.. did u see it switch on or something??
That's the recirculate button, not the a/c.
Please let us know if you fix the notorious "clunk" from the front wheels. I've had it since 1k miles. Drives me nuts!
dude i still have my gti and you were one of my goto channels to follow on my builds and now i've just bought a 2016 wrx but apparently your already moved on and got a 18 gti?!
like a year ago..
Nothing wrong with 4.7 at all still pretty quick but 4.2 is sik!
I’m pretty sick of M/T at this point.. I hate stick shift.

the car comes with that red interior red lights ?
no, it does not. i added. i have a video on it.
@@LastHumansGarage thanks sir please could you send me the video link.

it used to be a lease.
When you were mentioning the top hats making a noise in reverse, at full steering lock for the early model 2015 WRXs, Subaru made a recall for that problem. My 2015 WRX had that issue, ever since they replaced them, I've never had an issue since.
空想 this happens to me just thought it was normal. Going to have to take it in .
hmmm
What's that part number and name of the clutch ? Thanks for the help
dont know, but i do know it was an ACT street clutch. the most basic. i didnt need anything super fancy, plus those tend to cause more issues in long term.
Still running 40psi in the tires? And those are heavy wheels too! Sad that ur getting rid of it.
no, i was running 34

just not feeling a VW as much as a dodge at this time in my life.
Hemi 😎
LastHumansGarage to each their own. I will say though that the mk7 is vastly superior to the other GTIs especially with the limited slip differential.
Did you ever try your launch control on your ap? Just got to find that perfect rpm.
naw

Hey, i wondered the same thing.
you're pretty knowledgable with this car I've notice. I've been watching you for quite some time now.
And I'm curious as well.
What is your reasoning for not using the launch control on the AP?
Just being more aggressive with your launch and 1-2 shifting with make your time.
ya... i was already too aggressive and burning up my clutch..
LastHumansGarage that’s your problem let go of the clutch pedal at 5000 stop riding the clutch out just pop your foot completely off it fast she will deff beat ur 4s
Put the mounts in and just do a run with them hen swap it back
cuz that would be good for everything.. except my car..
That clunking noise is probably the viscous coupler. That needs to be replaced. You can search on TH-cam viscous coupler WRX.
In the driveshaft?? Def not. This comes from the front wheels.
My 2016 makes that noise as well when turning. I was worried it was somehow a busted CV joint or something
mr. richard I had the exact same thing and it’s the Viscous Coupler is stuck and needs to be replaced.
“Oh what is that… I smell.. corn engine?” 😂
My WRX on E50 smelled good, but my GTI on E30 had no smell at all, not enough juicy juice.
