It's crazy how much Jordan game kept evolved as time went past from his rookie season. Lots of players can't say that on their game. That's why I always tell people, Jordan would kill it in today's NBA. He had that 80s play style and then came the 90s. His game translated to 90s style of play and evolved even more than the during the 80s.

@@GaussGodden It's pretty simple, Jordan would've seen that the new landscape of the NBA is to stretch the floor and shoot 3's, so that's what he would've done as well. Make no mistake about it, he still would've used his midrange game a lot, but he would've added the 3 pointer to his arsenal of weapons as well.

@@dynamic6645 It was not a myth. In 1979 the NBA attempted to banish the hand-checking rule. A great turmoil shook the league, how, for instance can anyone guard Kareem Abdul Jabbar without hand-checking him? That first attempt was ignored and the game continue through all 80's with abundance of hand-checking in defense. Do your research first through the history of the game. The NBA didn't started in post 2000's playstation style of play. It used to be a very physical and competitive sport. NBA would stand for NoBoysAllowed.

I watched 80s , 90s, 2000s, basketball RELIGIOUSLY. The 80s werent that physical bro. Refs called plenty of fouls just like they call today. Jordan LIVED AT THE FREE THROW LINE. You could barely touch him without being called for a foul. Same thing for Iverson and Kobe. Look at this game dude what's the fucc is so physical about it? Stupid old heads don't know how to appreciate different eras. Bulls scored 121 points and many of those baskets were uncontested layups. No physical defense. You think Giannis is soft? Wow

But yes, the 80s had their tough players and brutal fouls, but the game was much more offensive oriented and faster than in the next two decades.

Imagine a healthy Bernard King, a clean Michael Ray Richardson , and a young Patrick Ewing . I hate to admit it as a bulls fan ,but only age would’ve stopped that team . They would’ve won at least 1 championship maybe 2. It would’ve been hard to beat the Lakers and Celtics at that time, but they would’ve given them problems. They probably would’ve won in 89 and 90. The couple of years Detroit won . No disrespect to the Pistons, but all that offensive talent even with Detroit’s defense, would’ve been tough to handle . I don’t even think my bulls would’ve beat that team. It is fun to imagine. We will never know . Age would’ve eventually caught up to that team with Michael Ray and Bernard and bulls would’ve start winning after that, but that team would’ve caused problems.

Back then it was only used when games were close in the 4th quarter when first introduced around 1979 but you see time went pass and its now one of the main go to shots in todays game. Thank the ABA for having it on their league in the late 60s and 70s til they disbanded and linked with the NBA the teams they had left that had some money and wasnt struggling with making some like a few of those teams did.
