We have just got an 11 week old puppy and used this video to introduce him to another of the same breed. Worked like a charm! Within 10 minutes he went from terrified to playing with him. Amazing. Thanks very much for this great short video!
Oh my goodness that puppy is adorable look at all the kisses he’s giving his dad, gorgeous fluff ball. The adult dog Harley was fabulous that puppy was so bold 😂 well done all. Good advice re supporting the older dog, some people find it amusing when the puppy constantly harasses the old dog which is totally unfair. 🥰🏴🇬🇧
Thank you so much for this video it helped a lot with introducing our new puppy to our 2 year old dog both are female and the two year old is very protective over us and her thing like water bowl and food, So we got new bowls and let the new puppy use it first and our older one was OK with her using it.
This is how it's done! Thanks for the video. I see a lot of people (my parents for example) just nonchalantly letting the dogs and puppy interact right away and it always makes me very nervous.
I have a 10 week old female GSD, trying to introduce to my 12 yo “only-child” female lab mix. Lab mix is being territorial and grumpy. How do I handle this? We are keeping food/water/toys separate for now. Just brought puppy home Sat morn, 5/25, it’s now 5/27 evening. We followed your initial introductory video and that went OK, there wasn’t any major aggression issues from older lab mix. Thank you!
Very informative, thank you! Just brought home a 7 wk old female puppy and introducing her to my 14 yr old male and 12 yr old female. They’re lab mix brother and sister born in my house 2 yrs apart. Unfortunately it was the coldest day of the year yesterday, 5 deg F and the puppy has never been outdoors. Incredibly, she’s yet to have an accident in the house even though I could only bring her in my backyard for 2-3 min at a time due to the cold and her small body mass. Warmer today by 30 deg so should be better. I had to introduce in my house but in hindsight I should have brought them to my mothers dog-less house for a first meet but she’s in her 80s so that’s tough. Been doing ok but I’ve been limiting the interactions with gates so the two older can get relief. I did have a couple growls from the older dogs when the pup gets too rambunctious and I told them “no” but I’m going to try your way from now on. Actually the older male seems to be doing the best with her so far. I have been limiting the interactions to one on one as I thought two on one might provoke bad behavior with the older two. Anyway I’ll be checking out your vids and any suggestions and/or tips from you or anyone with a similar situation would be much appreciated. Thanks again!
ahhhh yes! I have a ten year old toy cavoodle is reactive (crazy barking and growling and lunging but no biting) and my family wants to get a working line German shepherd. I really hope it will work... I think we'll definitely need a trainer
I'm very happy they did thus with a german shepherd ,I will be introducing my new poodle to my w year old gsd and he generally likes humans but I don't know how he'd react to a new dog this video really helped
Hi Nate. REALLY impressed by all your training and your approach to training. I am about to get a new puppy to eventually start SAR training. I have an older Plott hound in the home. In addition to training the new puppy coming into the home, do you have recommended training for the current older dog, for them to be ready to accept a new dog into their established home? I have about 4-5 months before getting the new pup and bringing it home. Would very much appreciate your guidance on this.
Thanks! Here's a section from my manual that may help. If you're bringing home a puppy and your other dog is good with dogs, then it should be a simple process. Just bring the puppy home and let your older dog see you holding the puppy. Most dogs will not be aggressive to a puppy because a puppy is not a threat. However, some dogs will correct puppies for getting into their space or not respecting boundaries. Often this isn't an issue, but it can start to teach your dog to be submissive. Since I don't like my dogs to be submissive, I don't allow my older dogs to correct puppies when I bring them home. If I notice that the puppy is bothering the older dog, then I'll move the puppy away from the other dog. It also helps to introduce them in a neutral environment, such as the front yard. However, I follow a different process if I am bringing an adult dog home. First, I want to make sure that I can walk both dogs on a loose leash. Once I can do that, then I walk both dogs together. One dog on my left and one dog on my right. You can also have a person help with this process. Just be sure a person is between both dogs. While I'm walking the dogs, I'm making sure the dogs are not showing any aggressive behaviors. Most of the time, non-aggressive dogs will just walk as if it's a normal walk. They will show interest in the other dog, but nothing to raise any flags. Once I get back to the house, I walk both dogs into the backyard or in the house if no yard is available. By walking around the neighborhood with both dogs it seems to welcome the new dog into the group. Once in the yard I drop the leashes and let the dogs interact. For peace of mind, you can have the water hose ready if the dogs decide that they don't like each other. Spraying dogs with the hose is a safe way to stop most dog fights. This is usually not necessary if you did the walk correctly and watched for signs of aggression. Cheers!
Hi Nate! I hope you could help me get along my 2 yr old older dog (MinPin mixed) with my new 3 month old chihuahua. They are both males. I literally just got the pup today and the older dog has been showing aggressions by constantly barking at the pup when he sees it. Now, the pup is in a crate and we are all in a same room. My older dog is super attached to me as he has been with me since he was a pup!
Such an amazing video ! By the way, I have a 5 years old male Baschet-Lab mix who's rarely socialize with dogs. I walk with him once a week, but in my neighbourhood no one lets their dog out on a walk, so it makes it even harder to socialize him with other dogs. There is no dog park near me either, so yeah, it's really hard to find another dog to socialize him with. Yesterday, someone dumped a female Lab (i reckon she's like 2 or 3 weeks old) near my house, so I adopted her. As I expected, I find it so hard for these two to bond. In the first meeting, my Baschet-Lab growled a lot and chased the younger one, pretty much showing a form of aggression. So I had to stop the meeting. This early morning I was really shocked that these two dogs were in the same room, the old ones still growling though. But after all, they seemed to be in a playful mode, I guess? But, yeah, everything changed when my sister intervened by touching my old Baschet-Lab. He started to show aggression and chased the young one and even snapped a bite on her. I was panicked so I had to separate these two. Now they are both in a separated room and I don't know how to teach them to get along with each other. Do you guys have any tip on how I should teach them to get along with? That's seriously gonna help. Thank you :D
Most adult dogs won't hurt a puppy, but they will often correct them. When they correct them it can look very aggressive. However, if you're concerned about it, wait till the puppy is larger, so he is less likely to get hurt and then follow this process: Here's a section from my dog training manual. If you're bringing home a puppy and your other dog is good with dogs, then it should be a simple process. Just bring the puppy home and let your older dog see you holding the puppy. Nice video. I have a different problem. I have a litter of malinois pups. The puppies attack the mother when They are let out. It started in the last week or so. As soon as they are let out the four pups surround the mom and bark and bite at her.
This was informative, thank you. Question; I have an un-neutered male and spayed female mixed Pitbulls, and have recently adopted a little mixed chihuahua female. The little one is of course very energetic and wants to play. My major concern is her getting hurt or worse by him mostly. He has shown aggression towards the puppy and lunges at her occasionally. When I have had her on the floor with him I notice sometimes his eyes get large and intensive (( as in he opens them wider )). I have been letting her run around on the floor while I have him near me and small bits of treats. I will start using the leash technique you showed here. But, do you think the puppy is in danger from one or both of the older dogs? They are both almost 5 years old.
It's possible, but most of the time an older dog will just correct the puppy for being too invasive. If you're worried about it, then I would keep them separated. You can also teach the older dog that he can go to a specific place in the house where the puppy is not allowed. This will help reduce the older dog's stress if he knows that he can always get away from the pup if needed. You can do that by following this process: th-cam.com/video/R-dDY6QPENE/w-d-xo.html
another great video, thanks again man, need this exact topic for next month. Thanks dude 🙏Just need to figure out where to introduce new puppy to my dog now
Thanks alot Bethany! This was really informative 😊 I have a small mixed poodle breed that's turning 5 this year and a 3 month old German shepherd that I will be introducing in a couple of days. Question; my poodle is a bit attached to me, will it be fine if I did the introduction or should a more neutral family member do it for their first meet?
It is okay if you do it yourself since you actually want the puppy to have a better relationship with YOU rather than with the other dog. Note: I am talking from an unprofessional POV taking in consideration what I did when I introduce dogs together, and taking in consideration what was said in the video.
@@rafaelsoley7645 thanks for the advice! I actually did it couple months ago myself, it was a bit sketchy at first but they quickly warmed up to eachother and my older dog is really happy with having a companion 😊
Hey so I was wondering how do I train my dog to press a button when he needs to go outside to use the bathroom? (I saw ur vid on how to get a dog to press the butt But how do I get him o press it when he needs outside?)
Do you have to do this immediately upon bringing the puppy home, or can you just keep them separated in the house for a day? We're bringing a new puppy home on Saturday and it's a 3 hour drive each way. After 6 hours of driving, it would be nice to have a short break before jumping right into this training, but willing to do so if it needs to be immediate.
Do you have any advice on introducing a big dog to small dogs ??? Me & my mom is thinking about bringing this 8months pit/bully into our home but we already have to small old ( female ) dogs , & we dnt want anything to go wrong!!
Thanks for this video. I have a male senior German shepherd ( Tyson) and I recently adopted a male stray dog (Lucky) ..but Tyson is not comfertable with him ..Tyson keeps on changing his spots when lucky comes around him and Tyson growls at lucky if lucky jumps upon him... but i am gonna try to reintroduce both of them tomorrow using the techniques you showed..I hope they become good friends..one mistake I did was..I feed them together at same time same place..
Hey i love the video of yours but i need some help on my case cuz im reaally stressed about this. We have a staffordshire bullterier at home ,hes a male and 13 years old. Recently we got a pup about 5 months old male and bullterrier staffordsire as well. We tried introducing them but we kinda jumped a gun , we showed the pup right away , but our 13 old dog is a bit asocial cuz he almost never had any dog come over to our house. So first thing he does to the pup is try to mount him . He gets really overexcited , starts breathing really fast and his eyes get wiiide . He gives the pup no space whatsoever . Hes always so close to him that hes pushing him on qccident always trying to mount him (he cant do it tho beacuse his back legs are weaker , he has some trouble walking , something to do with his old age) so its been three days now and idk what to do . Today the little guy kinda jumped on him .. i couldnt tell if it was agression or what but he pushed the old dog prettt hard that made him hit the shelf and he got afraid of the younger dog.. so i really dont know what to do and i have mixed feelings .. (ps. The old dog is still really invasive and hes tryun to hump him.) Any advice would be helpful . Thank you so much.

I’m finding this video very helpful because I am planning on buying a Pomeranian puppy I already have a 12-year-old sheltie Poo unfortunately I don’t have a real backyard so my question is with the Offleash really work in a very small backyard or is there a better way that I could do that because I live in a small house so I don’t have a lot of room as far as what I saw on your video
Thanks for another great video! I was wondering if you have any tips for training my puppy to stop barking at nearly everything, she also likes to bite people's ankles as they run past and I have tried lots of methods already like distracting her with a toy or taking her away but they haven't work. Please if you have any tips that would be great!!
If the barking is not out of fear, then you can teach the dog a quiet command. The easiest and fastest way to teach quiet is to treat it as a conditioned correction. Meaning, say quiet and then correct your dog with a training collar and leash pop. After only a couple of those, your dog will stop barking or making noises when you say quiet. Once that's the case, then you no longer need to correct after the command. If you would rather not correct, then this is a good option as well: th-cam.com/video/0vtn8NhofOw/w-d-xo.html
We have a Rottweiler puppy about 5 months old. Our friends lab puppy about 7 months old. The other dog always nips at our puppy. What can I do to stop the other puppy from nipping our puppy? Besides not letting our dog out when the other dog comes over?

So, I'm getting a mini dachshund here in the near future. I had a 14 year old Maltese and he was killed by a husky my boyfriend and I (At the time) adopted. Currently all I have now is my chow chow she was raised as a puppy with other dogs. she's 9 years old this month she has always been around other dogs but I still in the back of my mind worry since what happened to my Maltese. Any tips on how to calm my own nerves for when I introduce them? I already knew how to do a greet but it obviously didn't work before... My chow has NEVER been aggressive towards humans or animals just in the back of my mind I still worry. Is a puppy play pin a good suggestion or just a crate?
If you're really worried, then I would suggest muzzle training the chow chow, so if she decides to do something, the muzzle will stop her: th-cam.com/video/0eDveftFudw/w-d-xo.html
hii! my puppy is a cane corso close to 2 months old ,i just brought him home ,i have a 5yr old female GSD. The puppy doesnt have the full vaccine schedule done yet so i really dont know if i should introduce them yet ,its still gonna be a while until all the vaccines are done and i dont think keeping them separated for that long is great either. how should i proceed about it?
I haven't watched the full vid yet but I have a very anxious 4 year old sheltie and we just got a 12 week old goldendoodle. The puppy won't stop running up to my sheltie and that's when pebbles (sheltie) growls and tries to bit. I'm worried pebbles is going to bite the pup to the point we have to bring the pup back. I am getting a muzzle for pebbles but if u reccomend anything for high anxiety dogs with a hyper friendly one please let me know.
How did this go? We brought a puppy home 3 days ago. I know it takes time but we can’t even put up a gate without our adult dog getting super aggressive. Scared for the puppies safety.
@@cynthiaharris3900 what we just did is let the puppy close to the adult dog a couple times a day. We put the puppy in her harness and leash and put her where the dog can see her but where she can get away if needed. (Our stair railing was a perfect place as it was close to family room. I'm sure a puppy pen would work too) and we just let the dog learn to see the puppy, we had a few moment where we had to remove the pup but it's been 3 months and they are playing all the time now. We still have to watch them play as the pup doesn't know she's huge one but it's been going good 😂 biggest thing I could say is let the adult dog have free range.
@@cynthiaharris3900 another thing I would add is if ur adult dog is trying to aggressively go after ur puppy when the pup is hooked somewhere then maybe check with someone to make sure it's safe for the puppy to b there. Unfortunately some dogs can't be with pups but if it's a 'hey this is my house' type of aggression then I would guess it can fixed cause my adult was basically the same.
I have two 7 year old dogs. A Shepard we rescued and a dachshund. We just got a 2 month old golden retriever and they are fine with the butt sniffing but as soon as the 2 month old gets close to there face the Shepard wants to snap and the dachshund growls and flares.
I have an 11 year old dachshund mix (female)and a 9 year old full dachshund(male) and two roughly 1 year old pit bulls (male and female) we're outdoors people but my female dachshund is a bit nippy when other dogs get in her space, we're nervous about merging the 4 together because of the size difference (18lbs and 15lbs) vs (75lbs and 85lbs) i just know if the pit bulls play too rough they could hurt the small dogs or if my female dachshund nips at one of the bigger dogs for being "nosey" im scared the bigger dogs might nip back... any ideas on how to safely merge all 4 together so we can enjoy camping, hiking etc. Again? I know this is an older video but if you see this, thank you for any and all advice.
I have a pit and we rescued this 3 month old lab. She’s super sweet to him, but she plays to rough. She’s very stubborn and struggles to listen to commands. She’s gotten better over time but some days she has relapses and doesn’t want to listen at all.
I followed this entire process to intro my new GS to my 6 year old female golden retriever, after a day of seemingly ok behavior , my golden now growls at the new guy if he even walks by her. My golden is very submissive with all other dogs but she doesn't seem to like the new puppy. I have the puppy on leash in the house so I have constant eyes on, he just wants to play or go near my golden. Not to sure what to do or how to show the Golden the new pup is not a threat but a new addition and he will be here to stay.
I'd like to see that too. My male is 5 years old, along with his sister. We just rescue/adopted a 4-month-old puppy and they are NOT comfortable with the energetic puppy. They growl and sometimes snap, but my male has attempted to get ahold of her, and that worries me.
What if the adult dog has a very scared and therefore potential aggressive behaviour? How go about introducing a new dog? Puppy or adult. I would love to have some tips on that.

Not everyone can afford a trainer with the new expense of a new puppy. We have -10 degree weather in Minnesota and a ton of snow so even finding a neutral location is hard. We are holding the puppy and letting our dog sniff her and he is not happy at all. I heard this can take over a month but man we are stressed out. I can hold the puppy and my adult dog won’t do much but growl but if puppy gets put on ground he wants to attack her. :(
First do muzzle training with the older dog for safety, if you have concerns. Then try this process: First, I want to make sure that I can walk both dogs on a loose leash. My older dog is still a puppy she’s a year and 9 months. We walk her regularly (on asphalt) and have eliminated trips to the dog park over the last two months to prepare for a puppy. But I’m still nervous about parvo since I want the puppy to learn where they go to the bathroom and to have time in the backyard for play. My older dog has her shots as well. Do you think I’m being too paranoid?
How about introducing an adult GSD with our pack at home, thats 2 female GSD and 1 GR free roaming at home. The upcoming one is 1 male GSD. Is there a different way on introducing him?

I have introduce another dog to my older do, the dog is 6 and the older one 10... Each time I did this the older dog would become dominant over the new 6 year old dog but when I left the older one off lead and kept the new one on tight leash no aggressive behavior was shown to my new dog
Sometimes older dogs don't like being around high energy puppies. I would just make sure the puppy isn't being rude or obnoxious to the older dog. Teach the puppy leash pressure should help with controlling the puppy around the older dog. Follow the same process that we use for this, just replace the couch with the older dog. If the puppy is too much for the other dog, use the marker and reposition the pup. th-cam.com/video/PL482q8E0W4/w-d-xo.html
I have a 10 year old husky that’s a bit aggressive towards other dogs. My sister got a new Corgi puppy and we are lost on how going about introducing them. The husky is an outside dog and I had them see eachother through the glass door with it slightly cracked as neither dog is able to reach through. Normally the hair on the back of my husky will raise when she sees another dog but thankfully with the puppy she seemed to get excited like she wanted to play. Excitement as in when she sees you pick up a ball to play fetch or when you grab her leash for a walk. The puppy however growls and barks a lot and runs away and hides as the husky pounces towards the glass. When we tried introducing them the husky was extremely excited and sniffed the puppy a little but then nipped at his back foot causing the puppy to screech. I think she just startled him. But I am extremely nervous about them meeting. Any tips would be greatly encouraged.
The biting is an attack. I introduced my sisters dog and mine and they kept doing this every now and then to each other every few hrs. This is dogs way of neutralizing an enemy without a full attack. It looked playful till I looked it up. They would have eventually hurt each other.
im needing help with a new pup, we are having issues with crate training. no matter when hes in if the door is shut he goes balistic. i can sit with him and praise him when hes being good but a few minutes in its over and hes fighting and barking to get out.
I have an adult Pomeranian and adult Bully. I just bought an 8 week old male Pomeranian. He has his first set of shots only. Is it safe to have him around my other two dogs? I’m scared of Parvo. My breeder told me to keep him away my other dogs. I’ve never heard of this. My other dogs are fully vaccinated and don’t exhibit any sign of illness.
We have a 12 year old American Staffordshire male, we just got an 8 week old Pit Bull puppy female. How long should we wait until to let them meet? Right now they are separated, letting them sniff different objects with each others scent on them.
If I'm worried about the safety of the puppy, then I won't let the dogs interact. However, I would have to see your dogs to give proper guidance. The reason is that older dogs will often correct puppies and it can appear to be aggression, even when it's not.
I would have to see footage to let you know for sure. To have a deeper understanding of a dogs emotions, I would highly recommend this book: amzn.to/3BOkKlW When introducing, First, I want to make sure that I can walk both dogs on a loose leash. By walking around the neighborhood with both dogs it seems to welcome the new dog into the group. Once in the yard I drop the leashes and let the dogs interact. My dog always freezes and has hairs stand up but jumps for joy when we greet other dogs. What’s this mean I know my dog wouldn’t hurt a fly based off always socializing him since he was young
I would have to see a video of this to give you an accurate assessment of what your dog is doing. If you want an excellent book on reading a dog's body language, then I would recommend "For the Love of a Dog: Understanding Emotion in You and Your Best Friend". Here's a link: amzn.to/3B6tkvP
i have a 4 month old pitbull & a 11 year old toy poodle & the poodle wants to play but the puppy started showing aggression (tried biting him & growling) now i keep them separated, i don’t know what to do. should i hire a trainer 😭?
I’m watching this vid since I’m getting a new little female havense puppy and I’m a little concerned about introducing her to my older female family dog she’s a chihuahua min pin mix so I was wondering about some in put about that I don’t know how chihuahuas and havanese puppy’s react (my older dogs name is angel by the way we haven’t named the female havanese yet) . I really want them to hit it off with one another and not have an incident where they have to be separated I doubt my adult dog will attack a puppy but I’m still worried a little this video should help me find a good way to introduce them to one another.
@@NateSchoemer I does and no problem I absolutely love watching puppy’s play and interact with my older family dog it’s so freaking cute I just wanna get in a tub full of adorable puppy’s
My snorkie has been an only child for 5 years. He tires to engage lay with the cat but she wont have anything to do with him, He gets bored and just lays around. When he got to the vet is he always outside playing with other pups. I was hoping a friend would help him to run around and play.
I tried introducing my sisters 6 week old puppy to my 1 year old but my 1 year old went for the puppy. We used a baby gate and one on each side but my 1 year old went for my sisters puppy again. Any tips?
I made a mistake I introduced my new 12 week old pomeranian to my 6 year old dachshund corgi mix in our nack yard my mom n I were both there but if my mom wasn't right there my dachshund would of attacked he's usally very dossile but he was very very jealous. I want to know how I can start over to get them to feel comfortable with each other
Hi everyone I want some advice: so family members got a new puppy and my elder dog is having a hard time adjusting. Unfortunately I wasn’t there when they were introduced but he tends to run away fast and whine when the puppy gets close. He also started salivating which he’s never done before. I’m worried about mounting and humping as well as how to overcome this ordeal.
I think how it all works out depends on the older dog and the older dogs health and personality. I have a 12 year old coonhound mix who is very chill around other dogs and people. She has some health problems but still loves her food and long walks. I recently adopted a seven month old shepherd mix. Bless the young one's heart, but she was too much for my old girl. My old girl became nervous and would retreat to the bedroom or upstairs and just wanted her peaceful life. She became hesitant wondering where is that new energetic dog. I felt so bad for her. I thought it would work out because my ol girl is very laid back, but the young dog just made her nervous in her own home. I figured it wasn't fair for her to live out her remaining time on earth always in a nervous state, and being woken when she wanted to sleep and she was also playfully jumped on. So sadly i was heartbroken to return the new one to the shelter. I was very upset and sad. At the end of the day, i feel it will work out depending on the older dogs personality, age, health, and emotional state.
Yeah but this dog is not aggressive, i have the big dog very aggressive toward my puppy , i let them separated by a fence but once the big dog have the possibility he would attack him. , what steps should i follow ????
This is why it's important to teach a dog leash pressure, so they learn to go with the pressure instead of against it. th-cam.com/video/9L8tK7mSD10/w-d-xo.html
Trust broken in my pack, older smaller dogs does want nothing to do with new puppy. They nipped her as warning, but she keeps aproaching them as she wants to play. But also new puppy still very young and will become a bigger breed dog
I introduced my puppy to my older dog but it went wrong. Then I searched this video. If I try it again with this process it should get better or I fucked up?
We have just got an 11 week old puppy and used this video to introduce him to another of the same breed. Worked like a charm! Within 10 minutes he went from terrified to playing with him. Amazing. Thanks very much for this great short video!
I'm watching this again as I'm getting a puppy and have an older. Bethany is so well experienced.
What a great video guys! I love how much detail Bethany gives she is so knowledgable.Thank you Nate👏
Thanks, G K! :)
Thank you so much for this video it helped a lot with introducing our new puppy to our 2 year old dog both are female and the two year old is very protective over us and her thing like water bowl and food, So we got new bowls and let the new puppy use it first and our older one was OK with her using it.
I was so focused, so into it, but then the puppy started eating her pants and I was dying 😂😂😂
What a beautiful older dog. Such a wonderful temperament . Great job to the owner !
This is how it's done! Thanks for the video. I see a lot of people (my parents for example) just nonchalantly letting the dogs and puppy interact right away and it always makes me very nervous.
Thanks! I'm happy the video was helpful. Did you share it with your parents? I'd be interested to hear if they like the approach as well. Cheers!
Awesome! Thank you and I'm happy the videos have been helpful. :)

Good video, thank you
Thank you! Cheers!
However, if you're concerned about it, wait till the puppy is larger, so he is less likely to get hurt and then follow this process:

Nice video. I have a different problem. I have a litter of malinois pups. The puppies attack the mother when They are let out. It started in the last week or so. As soon as they are let out the four pups surround the mom and bark and bite at her.
You should do how to introduce two adult dogs!
Thanks! I'll add that to the list! :)

Thanks dude 🙏Just need to figure out where to introduce new puppy to my dog now
Thanks! I'm happy it was helpful!

Hey so I was wondering how do I train my dog to press a button when he needs to go outside to use the bathroom? (I saw ur vid on how to get a dog to press the butt But how do I get him o press it when he needs outside?)
Have him press the button before letting him outside. After enough repetitions he'll learn to press the button when he wants to go outside. :)

Yes, you can wait a day if needed.

Just the best! Thank you!

How old is the puppy ? .. I hope to get a new gsd male pup for my 3 y.o female gsd..
I think the puppy in this video was 9 weeks of age. Thanks for watching and commenting!
More likely than not the golden is trying to teach the puppy boundaries. Just keep the environment safe and controlled. :)
What would you do if the older dog is still aggressive after the introduction through the barrier?
She said get a trainer if your dog shows aggression
Love this but would like to see it worked through with a adult dog that was uncomfortable

I hope this helps.
I have a female japanese spitz and just brought home a female german shepherd
Are they gonna bond or will it be a bad combo need help
Not everyone can afford a trainer with the new expense of a new puppy. We have -10 degree weather in Minnesota and a ton of snow so even finding a neutral location is hard. We are holding the puppy and letting our dog sniff her and he is not happy at all. I heard this can take over a month but man we are stressed out. I can hold the puppy and my adult dog won’t do much but growl but if puppy gets put on ground he wants to attack her. :(
First do muzzle training with the older dog for safety, if you have concerns. Then try this process:
First, I want to make sure that I can walk both dogs on a loose leash. Once I can do that, then I walk both dogs together. One dog on my left and one dog on my right. You can also have a person help with this process. Just be sure a person is between both dogs.

I have a new puppy I'm picking up Christmas day, I can't take the puppy to a mutual ground it's not safe without full vacations. Could I do this in my home?
Yes and you can take the dog to a local park that doesn't have any dog traffic.
Great tips! 🐶🐶
Thank you! 😊
I just got a pup and my dog ain’t accepting her at step 1 for a few days what do I do.
Here's a section from my manual that I think will be helpful.

The puppy should be fine since your older dog is vaccinated. Check out this video: th-cam.com/video/OvdKDE326gs/w-d-xo.html
@@NateSchoemer thank you so much for the info.

My dogs are fine outside together but inside my older dog doesn't like him. Won't let him in certain areas what can I do
We just got a dog and are older dog does not like him the puppy try’s to play but the older dog just won’t be friendly what do I do!?

They would have eventually hurt each other.
what do I do if my dog is leash nerveus
Hi! What if the older dog is hyperactive so the puppy starts charging at her? Could it be because he isn’t neutered yet?
I would have to see a video to give you a good assessment. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I can't find any videos in how to introduce puppy to older blind dog

Really great advice, thank you
Thank you, Riley! :)
Dang puppies! Always gotta chew something! 😂 I laughed when it was nibbling your pants. But great video!
What can I do if the adult dog is aggressive growling?
If I'm worried about the safety of the puppy, then I won't let the dogs interact. However, I would have to see your dogs to give proper guidance. The reason is that older dogs will often correct puppies and it can appear to be aggression, even when it's not.
My older dog(shitsu) keeps trying to bit my younger German shepherd(4mo the old) how do I get him to stop fighting
My older dog is hunting dog, she is pretty territorial, today i introduced a puppy, she started drooling and barking, will she be okay with the puppy?
I would have to see footage to let you know for sure. To have a deeper understanding of a dogs emotions, I would highly recommend this book: amzn.to/3BOkKlW

My Rottweiller is resource guarding the puppy. How do I fix this?
My dog loves puppies but doesn’t like large dogs so this is really helpful 🥲
i have a 4 month old pitbull & a 11 year old toy poodle & the poodle wants to play but the puppy started showing aggression (tried biting him & growling) now i keep them separated, i don’t know what to do. should i hire a trainer 😭?
My 16 month old Puppy has met her future sister several times at The breeder's. Won't that make The introductions much easier at home?
Thank you.
I hope this video helps. Thanks for watching!
I want to know how I can start over to get them to feel comfortable with each other
Im getting a labrabull puppy hopefully introducing the puppy outside of the playpen while my 1 year old dog is in the playpen
So what do I do when the puppy is the aggressor? Barking in the face, nipping, not giving personal space?
My street dog is aggressive against my new 4 week old labrador, can some one help me
I thought a harness is better than a collar, especially if the dog pulls or gets jerked to prevent damage to their throat and vocal cords.
What if its a large dog that gets too excited and plays rough with 12 week old
I introduced my puppy to my older dog but it went wrong. Then I searched this video. If I try it again with this process it should get better or I fucked up?
