    I vote that you continue collage. I especially like the top collage of the man. A series in this style would be amazing. ❤

    I realize I am about 2 years late watching this video but..better late than never? Your work is beautiful. You may know this now but the copyright laws do not allow someone to paint another's photo and that alone is enough to make it not an infringement of copyright law. According to US copyright law: "Only the owner of copyright in a work has the right to prepare, or to authorize someone else to create, a new version of that work." You may be able to obtain permission to use a photo for a derivative work from the photographer, or if you're using a photo library, buy the right to use it. in other words just changing the medium of the piece is not enough. The only exceptions are for limited use in education. ex. a teacher showing the work to his/her class. However there are some websites that provide free, unrestricted use of photos that they provide on their website. ie you can draw or paint those.

    Hi from Newfoundland canada I like listening to some asmr quiet talking videos and all of your videos are as good and better than some but not long enough pls consider doing some longer ones. As long as you can stand. With your quiet voice talking and actual showing painting. You would be surprised at how many people that would watch

      Hi! I've actually been wanting to create some longer content about my full painting process but wasn't sure if anyone would watch them. I'll make sure to create some longer videos every now and then!

    You are so cute!! I love watching your journey through this program. These videos are so informative and helpful. Thank you for sharing all of this. I am currently looking into joining the program. Also, your work is beautiful! I am obsessed with the large painting of the hands and little bird. It is stunning and so are YOU!!

    I really love both the Mark making pieces and the owl with inks. You’re very talented, I would feel so proud of all these pieces. I hope you can gain confidence because you really do create beautiful artworks. I think your personality really shines through with the woman reading the book.

      Thank you so much, that is so kind! Out of all the paintings I created during this section, the woman reading the book definitely feels most like me ❤

    Just a thought... maybe you could get some mixed media materials in the neutral colors that you love so much. A lot of the inks, spray paint, pastels...etc you have are bright but there are other colors out there. It seems that it's not the media the problem but rather the bright colors.;) Thank you for your videos, I'm now in the Mastery Program as well.

    When you said you don't think the bee painting was successful I was like "whaaaat" haha it's actually one of my favorites. But I do love and respect that you embrace your love for realism and muted colors instead of just copying the color palettes most MAI mentors use.

    • @CharlotteLindstromArt
      @CharlotteLindstromArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah that’s so interesting! Color is generally what attracts people to a painting so it makes total sense. I think subconsciously I felt it wasn’t successful because I didn’t put as much attention into this painting as I normally would + it isn’t in a style I would normally paint. I also feel the composition could be improved, but maybe I shouldn’t be so hard on myself and my work. I’m so happy you like it! 🥰

    Loved you sharing your multimedia process. I'm just in week 4 of the program - still working on finishing some work from weeks 2 and 3. Great program, and very nice to see somebody else's process! Interesting that they are ending the affiliate program. Too bad, because I am sure it helps a lot of people afford the program, and it is helpful for others like us when people like you in the program take the time to document your progress!

      @@CharlotteLindstromArt I guess we'll see! Yes, it seems like a really helpful thing and a good way to get the word out, plus no doubt a lot of people did TH-cam channels exactly for this reason. Your videos are still out there benefiting them. Maybe they will revamp the program.🤞

    You want nice acrylics? Get yourself some Goldens and a satin glaze additive. It'll extend the life and get rid of the chalkiness. I've been dying to do this program, but oils terrify me. Now that you're showing acrylic, I might be able to do it.

    • @CharlotteLindstromArt
      @CharlotteLindstromArt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I have learned that using any sort of additive or glazing liquid really helps! And absolutely! The first 14 weeks are oil and charcoal to build your skills but after that you learn all about mixed media and you get to develop your painting process with whatever mediums suit you best!

    Can you describe how your prep the paper, keep it from buckling and then later apply oil so that the oil doesn't effect the integrity of the paper?

    • @CharlotteLindstromArt
      @CharlotteLindstromArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely! I think buying quality paper that’s heavyweight will already help a lot in preventing the paper from buckling! That being said, in some of my mixed media pieces on which I used lots of water / watery materials, the paper definitely buckled a bit. I make sure to attach all four corners of the paper to the wall when it’s drying, this helps a bit in preventing or correcting the buckling. Before oils I apply a layer of heavy gel gloss onto the piece, it dries clear and protects the paper from degrading as oils will slowly eat away at paper. The heavy gel gloss I use is from golden. I’m totally open to trying other forms of protection though as this one is glossy (as the name suggests) but so far it has worked really well!

    • @CharlotteLindstromArt
      @CharlotteLindstromArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also: in order to prevent buckling from happening in the first place, gesso might work, I personally just love the look of watery materials on paper and how inks bleed and acrylic drips so I haven’t used gesso on paper yet, it might be worth a try though! I’m sure there are other primers that work well too! That being said, I personally haven’t tried any. ✨
