  • Edit: I mention modeling paste in this video as a way to protect the paper from oil paint. The actual product I use in this video is heavy gel gloss by Golden. That being said, several of you suggested using gesso which is a great! I am currently trying a combination of heavy gel gloss and gesso and will update you in the next video on whether this works well. Thank you as always for being here :)

    As for the changes in the Mastery Program... I started in June and yeah I wanted to sign up for the group coaching and that's no longer available. They never announced that and even the day before sign up they made it seem like it still was an option but then it just wasn't there anymore. You can now book additional zoom calls but tbh I was mostly looking forward to the group coaching facebook group which now no longer exists (probably does but new students don't get access to it) because everyone said that was really helpful. We do have our own facebook group but everyone is just "too friendly" haha there is no constructive feedback there... I am now done with the first month and so far I think I am doing okay with just the videos but I believe that in the future some professional feedback would be helpful but not sure if it is worth an additional 100USD for a personal Mentor.

      Thank you! Yes I totally agree. I feel everyone was kind of in the dark about this change, they suddenly took it off their website.. I love the group coaching option personally and am sad that those who recently signed up don’t get to experience it.
      Ah I can imagine! Giving feedback is difficult especially when you’re still learning yourself, I wish you guys had access to a coach who can help out a bit. Happy to hear you’re doing good though! 😊

      I will started posting again really soon! 😊 If everything goes well a new video should be coming out on Sunday July 24th with an update on where I have been and what my plans are. I truly love documenting my journey but it takes lots of time (probably an average of 15 hours a week) and unfortunately I don't always have the spare hours to create these videos but I am so excited to get back into things 😊

    if you're using paper use several layers of acrylic gesso first, as a barrier between the paper and the oil

    • @CharlotteLindstromArt
      @CharlotteLindstromArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! I used modeling paste instead as a barrier but clearly didn’t do a very good job, using a combination of gesso and modeling paste probably would have worked a lot better! Thank you for the suggestion 😊

  • @amandapeete7907
    @amandapeete7907 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Modeling paste? I've never heard of it. Is there a reason you couldn't use a few layers of gesso?

    • @CharlotteLindstromArt
      @CharlotteLindstromArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just did what my teachers recommended but I’m thinking of trying a combination of both to make sure I don’t mess up again. Gesso is a great suggestion, thanks!

      @CharlotteLindstromArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Whoops, I just checked and I am actually using heavy gel gloss from golden, not modeling paste, sorry! Either way, I’m in my studio right now experimenting with heavy gel gloss and gesso and it seems to be working great!
