  • In the very beginning of the video I say 12 weeks but what I meant was 5 weeks! The whole mixed media section was 12 weeks (10 weeks of painting + 2 weeks break in between). Just wanted to clear that up :)

    Keep going you are doing great you will fine what your style is. I have changed in what I do again let your heart tell what to do I do. I started off with oils then I tried different mediums I love using pan pastels and pastel pencil. Remember to follow your heart always. All the best for your future.❤️🦄🦄🦋

    I found this very helpful as I to am a MAI student just about to finish mixed media. Honing in on my own voice is also a struggle. Thanks for sharing!

    I was about to comment that your paintings make me feel very calm when I look at them. Then you said you wanted your paintings to look peaceful. Mission accomplished I would say. Even if you don't see it, I see your style already. I can't point my finger on it but I can tell that a painting is yours, when I see it pop up on my instagram feed before I check the name. But I understand that you feel anxious, I will probably feel the same way when I get to the portfolio section. Still, I am excited to see what you are gonna create in this next part of the program.

      Thank you so much! It is interesting, I've actually had some people message me to say the same thing, I personally can't see it but I guess for others there is a bit of a style or voice there. I am so happy they make you feel calm ❤️

    Aw Charlotte keep your head up! I can imagine how nerve-wracking it must be at times not being fully submerged in your style quite yet. I wonder how many students have experienced this. Probably a lot! And I bet they all confidently found their voice eventually; perhaps some took longer than others and that's okay. At the end of the day it's not a race! And for what it's worth, while having a coach is extremely useful for support and guidance, and their suggestions and advice is appreciated, ultimately I believe listening to your gut is the best way to go. Do what you believe would benefit you the most 🙌🏼 I also don't think anything is a waste of time, even though it may feel like it sometimes. You've gone through the mixed media section and now you're certain you want to primarily work in oils. Perfect! If you hadn't done the work, you may be left always wondering. It only reinforced your path. All in my humble opinion, of course 🙂 Excited for the rest of your journey! Just keep going, you've got this 🦾🖌💕

      Thank you so much, you are so sweet. I have definitely gotten much closer to my voice and I am sure I'll continue to come closer as I paint more. I love my coach and all of her encouragement, though I do think taking some time away and slowly figure it out on my own could be beneficial, I guess we'll see where I end up. Thank you for being so encouraging, I really appreciate you! ❤️

    Charlotte, I love the red abstract that you don't like!! 😂 I'd definitely put that up on my wall! You're doing amazingly! I finished the Beginner Program and am now catching up with the Mastery Program, I'm on week 2.

    I understand you fully, I like a lot the things I'm painting now I think they are great, but I still feel that Im not there yet with my voice and I've been working in my portfolio for like 6 months now is so frustrating.

      This week I decided to go back to the voice section, I looooove mixed media, but then when I go with oils is a disaster. And I want oils in my work, the difference in depth is just so beautiful to eliminate from my process

      Absolutely! I’m in the same boat, I’ve started portfolio and feel very lost, I enjoy painting the subjects I paint but don’t feel like I’ve found my voice. I have some elements figured out but I feel stuck and I’ve been here for months 🤷‍♀️
      So smart to go back to the voice section and it’s really great that you know you love mixed media! Good luck, you’ve got this 😊

    The girl with the flowers 😍 i love this one it’s amazing
    I love surrealism when others paint them but when i try i can force myself to paint a face in blue for example and it’s very frustrating
    Also can you please explain how you create your photos reference?

    • @CharlotteLindstromArt
      @CharlotteLindstromArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! I think that’s my favorite too 😊 and I totally get that, I feel the same way! I’ve found that once you’re lost in right brain land it is much more doable but when I think about it too much it’s like I’m fighting my eyes the whole time 😅
      Definitely! I’m thinking of maybe creating a video on creating sources. Personally I like to use procreate. I have photoshop, and pixelmator and use them on occasion but procreate is by far my favorite way of creating sources. I am also looking to take some pictures while I’m away so there won’t be so much pressure on changing images I found online. I find creating sources difficult sometimes because I love realism but don’t want to steal a photographers photos or voice. Is there anything in specific that you’re curious about when it comes to creating sources?
