I think they made the first four episodes into a movie because the three episode rule is more important than we think. They would have lost a lot of nuance if they had to finish ep3 where this long 1st episode stopped. Also the tone shifts dramatically after the "big thing" happens. The double episode at the beginning or end of season is not so uncommon but I don't really see this movie length start to a seson to take off. I don't want to imagine how hard it was to negotiate with the TV stations to air it.
I think there's gonna be a season 2 because the manga isn't finished yet and it has started the main plot of oshi no ko. I don't want to spoil anything in terms of the plot. I think this first season would cover Ruby's idol journey then at season 2 It would be main plot of the anime. Then the manga would finish and get a full adaptation.

I learn a lot from this show and I think the motivation is real for many aspiring people who wanted to do something in the entertainment field. Also im happy that it includes the actual entertainment field, i.e., not only idols but also actors, directors, mangakas, youtubers, streamers, band, dancers, and more. Facts like, a company making show only to promote actors without anything to do with source material, the effect of fans/hates on twitter affect an individual by a lot, collaboration is fastest way to gain audiences (especially on yt), and importantly how to be a good actor with communication. this show teaches you a lot. So, in short, this show actually boasts aspiring people to start somewhere and it is not like a heaven if you become one it's hell and hella challenging, wanna tap into this industry. A perfect motivation anyone needed. Maybe that is what happens with you as well, I think you got motivated by it and starts with posting a banger first video here.

One reason oshi no ko was made was just because of a recommendation by an amazing artist i don't remember the name but it was an artist that can draw a character in detail in a couple of minutes
giving me slight scamboli vibes. nice. as one comment though as someone who watched the first episode barely even hearing about it before hand, it's absolutely best watched blind. i had whiplash from that last bit, so while you do warn about spoilers, i know from experience of being spoiled for most things, people tend to just ignore them. basically i'm taking way to long to say i'd put more emphasis on the spoiler warnings or just dodge around talking about them. great video! binging your others.

I already know that is not going to happen, and I am not going to write any spoilers, but I kinda wish that JJK would do the first episode of the season just telling the back story of Gojo like Hoshi no ko had the back story of Ai, cause I am pretty sure they would be able to fit everything from the manga about the back story in 90 min, instead of spending a whole season doing so 😅 I love JJK and Gojo but I have a feeling they are going to end the season in a major cliffhanger when they return to tell the present😰

For a first video, this was really good, I sensed a glimpse of Gigguk's style but that's to be expected as you often need to copy this kind of stuffs first before figuring out your own style. Overall nice video!
When you get an Aka Akasaka manga series like Oshi No Ko and Love is War, you are going to get the best in quality everything. Animation, voice acting, music, everything. You saw how Love is War raised the profile of A1 Pictures. Now Oshi NO Ko will do the same with Doga Kobo. They will get more profile series.
Never thougt how crazy having a movie lenght ep is like just watching you are like cool first ep movie lenght but i can't begin to imagine how they came to the conclusion that they should do it like that despite the risks and having to discuss with the TV to figure out when to air
i think making this thing into a movie was a great idea. If it was released in 25 minute episodes every week it would be disappointing and the climax wouldnt feel powerful enough. Once the climax happens and the goal is set in mind for Aquamarine, i feel like i am completely ready for the upcoming events.

revengers was actually really good for season 2 idk why it got sm hate. its just a slower build up and not as intense but it sets up for a lot story line wise imo

I personally believe the way the first episode is film-length like is because thats ai's show, its to suck you into the world of ai and her character like the characters in the show, as soon as ai dies the episodes then continue to focus on her children and their lives.
Fate/Unlimited Blade Works have the first two episodes that are double episodes, they could do it because of the structure of the original work, and the fact that those two are re-tellings.
the story : about a man that is 30 years old and has a crush on a 16 year old girl that is a famous idol and there is a girl that is 12 years old that has a crush on the 16 years old girl WTF IS THIS STORY.
Manga reader here, caught up. When I first started watching Oshi no Ko, I went into it knowing that Ai dies at the end of ep 1, so I watched it while refusing to get attached to Ai, I was more or less getting through it for the sake of it. And despite all of that, the death scene made me tear up a bit. After ep 8 released, I decided to read the manga, and now that I'm caught up with it, I'm facing an issue: I find ep 1 to be unbearable to watch anymore. Seeing how much Aqua and Ruby suffer and change because of the utter bastard that is their father and the tragedy that was their mother's life, it becomes way too cruel. Her death was so bad because it was animated and handles so good, which loops it back around to be heart-breakingly bad. When rewatching it after watching the rest of the anime and reading the manga, it feels less like a premise and more like "what could've been, and what was taken away". I can confidently say that Doga Kobo nailed the ending of ep1 so hard that I cannot watch it anymore for the sake of my mental health.
