See the difference between Light Yagami and Aqua is tht Aqua might (hopefully) come out of this whole revenge business alive, considering he's not trying to act like a god and enact justice on every person he can find unlike a certain teenager with a death note.

The show improves on the manga, which is itself an award winner in Japan. Oshi No Ko will become a classic anime, even based in the cinematic quality of episode 1. This is a real detective mystery story from here on, with time jumps and no fillers.

reading it so far, i think this entire show is just Aqua's revenge plot by using the industry, while Ruby is focusing on how to get into the industry the normal way. for ruby we get to see how people get in the industry on the surface, while aqua will focus on how things look behind the scene
I think that first episode was cheating being so damn long. But at the same time it was kinda genius. Because I guarantee people wouldn’t be that high on this if they took 4 episodes to get to AI’s death. This way, even if it’s a long episode, it immediately hooks you.

I think the whole reason that Ai was talking to the stalker like that was to make him run away rather than harm Aqua and Ruby. You need to take into account that she is really good at lying and acting, so although some of what she said is true, she was lying to him to get him away
It make sense, you wouldn’t love a guy who is trying to kill you and potentially kill your kids too, it only make sense that she lied in order to save her kids. She loved her kids from start to end……..she really didn’t deserve this
Maybe, but also if she was lying, why would she 1.) remember his name. 2.) remember he gave her a gift. And 3.) remember what that gift was AND place it openly in her home. I think she was being genuine.
I just wanna say that when aqua has his awakening moment in the car, at 13:43, the animation in his eyes, I think it looks like a few things that could really symbolise a lot of things: I think it looks like a phoenix, burning up and getting reborn from the ashes. Then 3 more phoenixes swoop in and all come together in 1 spot, and it creates the spark in his eyes. Phoenixes represent being reborn from the ashes, continuing on a cycle of what was left behind (Ai's legacy). Also Phoenixes are reborn from their ashes: ashes are nothing. They're not really useful or valuable, they're just a waste product. Similar to how aqua feels. Ai has burned up and all that remains is her ash, which is just nothing. But out comes the phoenix giving that ash meaning. Also, phoenixes are hot, and full of fire; similar to aquas mood now. He's fired up, he's got flame and passion inside of him. Another thing I think the animation looks like is kinda like an explosion. Or a supernova maybe. It explodes out a bit (which is like the spark to start it all) and then boom, it explodes into everything. Supernovas are one of the two ways a star dies (the other being it turns into a black hole), yk.. star... dying. A supernova is especially likely with a bigger star than a smaller star. Another big explosion that was very famous was the big bang, which is almost unanimously believed to be the beginning of the universe: the beginning of everything. Aqua has only just begun. Or maybe it's not that deep 🤷 maybe the animation studio just did it cus it looks cool af. Who knows! Either way, bravo art team.

I started watching Oshi No Ko with literally no knowledge except "It's good" I didn't know it was so dark, I didn't know it was about a doctor, I didn't even know it was an "Isekai" ( And I say "Isekai" because Ik it isn't *really* an *Isekai* ) so Ai getting stabbed surprised me SO MUCH because that was probably the LAST thing I would've expected to happen-

depending on how many chapters of the manga they adapt this first season might have peaked at the first episode but it would still be a very good show that touches on very real topics. As for the main story it might not progress as much in the first season or it might end in a huge cliffhanger idk but season 2 is where the story is really gonna pick up with big twists every 2 or 3 episodes
Well it probably peaked due to it's shock value, but the next story arc is on of my favorite ones in the manga. It depicts a reaaally nasty issue in our reality. + I'm biased and can't wait to see Akane.
Besides ch 1-10 which they covered in a whole episode in ep 1,they seem to be adapting 3 chapters per episode so since s1 has 11 episodes they'll be able to cover up to ch 40 where the scene sets up for the tokyo blade arc in s2
Yeah, you're right. The first episode is following the prolog, so now the real revenge story will begin, and that's when it gets good. The emphasis on Ai was because of her inevitable ☠️ and the lack of emphasis on the sister because, actually, I'll let you see.

The two are actually polar opposites, Light's goal in a sense was very "pure". He wouldn't bother to kill anyone that hasn't committed any violent crimes or people that would potentially stop him from continuing his actions, though he obviously lacked attachment to the people around him and was alone till the end. Spoilers Aqua on the other hand would likely go after his father as the first thing if he ever gets his hands on the death note, and possibly even kill criminals in order to control their actions before death in order to get closer to his goal. On the other hand he clearly showed more care for the people around him as he tried to distance himself from his family and friends before starting to take more extreme actions in order to protect them.

Light literally killed plenty of people who were not criminals to continue his actions. He started pure yes, but his ego inflated and started killing anyone who put his secret at risk. Ray Penber, then his girlfriend and the entire fbi team. That was just the start.
I went into this pilot episode with little to no info at all. I'm genuinely so excited for what's to come from this series. I also liked Love is war (same manga author). overall this episode made a very appealing first impression on me through the storytelling and visuals (apparent in my pfp lmao)
What makes the whole series hit you more is the fact that they are telling the world what goes on behind the scenes, what all these people in the entertainment industry have to go through constantly, when i finished the first episode i was in tears 😭

You're setting up yourself for disappointment if you go in watching the anime for the revenge plot. While revenge does drive the plot the story is mostly an honest presentation on how the Japanese entertainment industry works. From reality TV shows, manga adaptations to stage plays and etc. The story is mostly about how the main characters interact with that entertainment industry.

I read the manga, nothing happens. His only strategy is to paternity test people but that happens offscreen. At some point he is like: "Oh yeah, there was a revenge plot. Completely forgot. Yeah, I tested a hundred people or so off screen, I guess. No one was the father" Oshi no ko is just an average entertainment industry manga without much content.
irl Idols is Japan and South Korea aren't allowed to show emotions or have personal or romantic life. They all have pretend to be happy. Real have any assualted by fans for having a personal life.
You will be very disappointed to know this is not a light Yagami revenge story Just cause someone is emotionless doesn’t mean he’s light yagami.. light went from a good kid (who still existed somewhere in there without the death note) to a full emotionless monster that can separate himself and his actions from those he’s hurting in order to achieve a “greater goal” Aquas arc is going from someone who was a loner and reserved person to being reincarnated and having a second chance but then spiraling down the same journey of emotions that led him to be reserved and a loner in his previous life. Just saying there’s hella manga chapters you should read before you just say “oh yes next light yagami” Just kinda sets you up for disappointment and the people who would go into the series based on your video
I've watched the first seven episodes because of this video, and the anime is nothing like Death Note at all. So I wouldn't recommend this anime based on someone liking the Death Note.

By the way, at 2:05, rather than considering it as a villain monologue, I immediately considered it as a commentary about being a sensational entertainer, which ended up being correct. its true the death scene was grim, but yet its nothing compared to death note, even after the death scene it still had a sort of happy design and tone, in the other hand death note was more emotional and gruesome, killing off built up characters by suicide, having a wicked and twisted personality and ideology, it explores the idea of the light not being able to go to hell or heaven, and the insanely dark deception moments in the series, thoughts of killing any witnesses, mass genocide (instant death to criminals and a slow and painful death by disease to people with bad intentions), asserting public unrest, I do think the show has potential, but nothing tops death note.

The two are actually polar opposites, Light's goal in a sense was very "pure". He wouldn't bother to kill anyone that hasn't committed any violent crimes or people that would potentially stop him from continuing his actions, though he obviously lacked attachment to the people around him and was alone till the end.

Aqua on the other hand would likely go after his father as the first thing if he ever gets his hands on the death note, and possibly even kill criminals in order to control their actions before death in order to get closer to his goal. On the other hand he clearly showed more care for the people around him as he tried to distance himself from his family and friends before starting to take more extreme actions in order to protect them.

I went into this pilot episode with little to no info at all. I'm genuinely so excited for what's to come from this series. I also liked Love is war (same manga author). overall this episode made a very appealing first impression on me through the storytelling and visuals (apparent in my pfp lmao)

You're setting up yourself for disappointment if you go in watching the anime for the revenge plot. While revenge does drive the plot the story is mostly an honest presentation on how the Japanese entertainment industry works. From reality TV shows, manga adaptations to stage plays and etc. The story is mostly about how the main characters interact with that entertainment industry.

As you might already know, the title of the manga is 推しの子 (oshi no ko). Let's break this title down a bit
"Literally，推し (oshi) means 'to push'. It can also refer to the act of supporting someone; this is similar to when you say you "stan" a celebrity. This word is used a lot by idol fans to refer to their favorites
子 (ko) has several meanings. I read the manga, nothing happens. His only strategy is to paternity test people but that happens offscreen. At some point he is like: "Oh yeah, there was a revenge plot. Completely forgot. Yeah, I tested a hundred people or so off screen, I guess. No one was the father"

The obsession you would have to have to try and guess a phone password hundred of times per day for 4 years to unlock it after 45 thousand attempts is insane. its true the death scene was grim, but yet its nothing compared to death note, even after the death scene it still had a sort of happy design and tone, in the other hand death note was more emotional and gruesome, killing off built up characters by suicide, having a wicked and twisted personality and ideology, it explores the idea of the light not being able to go to hell or heaven, and the insanely dark deception moments in the series, thoughts of killing any witnesses, mass genocide (instant death to criminals and a slow and painful death by disease to people with bad intentions), asserting public unrest, I do think the show has potential, but nothing tops death note.
