@@OrgyBlossom89 Love people like this. Please don't think you need just this ability to be able to do this. You don't need "just" artistic ability. You need hours of practice and hard work.
I think it's so cool how much realism you added to this piece! It looks like a model struggling with keeping her puffy eyes open under the spotlight. They're so bright and sad, I love it! ❤️❤️❤️
You're the best at face ups! Your art really inspires me every time. The eyes that you create are magical! It's like... they have a soul or something. I think that your work on Madoka's eyes the most beautiful at this point. I wish that, with practice of course, someday mayyybe I will become even slightly as good as you! I'd love to watch more in depth videos of yours, like this one. Keep up the amazing work! Dora
So kind of you!! Thank you so much it truly is so inspiring. I'm so glad you like madokas faceup, I'm quite happy with her 🤗 I hope the video helps you in your craft journey! Thanks for checking it out❤️
I wash a few doll customizers and your lashes are my absolute favorite. I'm always amazed by how realistic they look being drawn on and not falsie lashes.
She turned out really pretty! I love the close up shots it really shows off all the tiny details you put in. I really like how freckles and tiny facial blemishes look on dolls, makes them look super realistic. Another superb face up 💗😻
I agree that the molded eyes are too large and can easily make the face look unbalanced; however (and take this with however large of a grain of salt you want, since I'm just a paper/digital artist rather than a doll customizer (yet, I'm starting though!)), I might recommend bringing the bottom of the eyes up rather than the top down. The eyes sit a little low on the face when you bring the top farther down. Although maybe that's your aesthetic! But it is a specific kind of aesthetic and not the most realistic look ever (though these are dolls, so... realism, I barely know her). Thank you for sharing your lovely work and your techniques with us!
very pretty work ^_^ love all the detail in the eyes! if you dont mind my saying, you might wanna try not to squish the head while you're working, as it can put little cracks in your MSC layer. I dunno if you've experienced this, but i know i cant squish my own doll heads after MSC
Thank you! Your art is amazing! I’ve loved this art community for a while now and wanted to try it for myself! (I even bought dolls for it, but I was always nervous as I’m not good at traditional, my art is better in digital.) But hopefully I can make art like all of you!
Soooo gorgeous. I am REALLY struggling with eyes and their shading, so I'll have to rewatch this several times. As for ideas for helping us fumbling about, eyebrows. Seriously, EYEBROWS!! ;-D
Thank you for this beautiful tutorial! I loved the close up shots and how they showed the texture of the pigments, it will help reassure me that it's supposed to look that way. When you did some of the brow highlight at the beginning and pulled the pencil away were you dipping it in water a bit or wiping away any other pigments? Fascinating! I'm off to practice so I don't mess up my mom's Christmas gift 🤣💕
I thought I was good at drawing eyes on paper but it’s been so long and I’ve been doing more digital (not much but some) lately and I can’t do very well and it’s hard to make these look good and then you manage to do it with such skill-
I’ve subscribed to your channel just a few days ago and I’m so impressed by the quality of your content! Thank you for putting up such detailed and curated videos ☺️
Super beautiful. Thank you for a well-presented, in-depth and informative tutorial. I so appreciate the soft background music so your instructions can be heard clearly. I have subscribed :)
Wow! I have been customising for a few months now but this was so helpful and your face ups are incredible!! I can’t believe you have only been customising dolls for a year 😍😍😍 do you have any advice for if you have just sprayed the face with MSC but the pencils have no pigment on the vinyl?
Thank you! It's so appreciated and I'm so glad you thought the video was helpful ❤️ I've found it good sometimes on more stubborn doll faces that getting a damp sponge and dipping the tip of the pencil in it, wiping away the access pigment on my hand, and then drawing sometimes help somewhat activate the pigment, and just repeating the process throughout the faceup, hope that helps!
AH! I finally figured out why the eyes of your dolls aren't quite what I expect: limbal rings! I have really dark, strong limbal rings, so I've always drawn them in eyes because I was drawing based on what I saw in the mirror. Watching you paint over the dark blue watercolor sketch of the limbal ring made my brain CLICK. THAT, that is the bit that's been bothering me in your (honestly amazing) eye painting. I've never seen you make a doll with strong limbal rings in their eyes. Do you have a video like that? I'd love to see it.
Just wanted to say (as I don't think I've really commented) that while this video may be 'old' I really do appreciate the close ups of your progress. I've never done doll customizing myself, but I appreciate the art. Maybe I'll do it someday and create a real life version of my pfp. 😄
This was awesome I've been working on a face and just can't seem to get it right poor things been penciled erased etc. several times but hopefully i can use some of your techniques and succeed!! But I have a question when you're done with the finial bit do you put something like a sealer to protect the paint ???
I hope your face up goes well in the future! I'm glad my video helps! Yeah I always do a final spray before I gloss the eyes I forgot to add it in and didn't realise until now 😭
I love your art i just came from seeing your Pokemon repaint and I loved it if you want one of my favorite Pokemon is curlypuff and if you can I'd love to see that one in your style
Beautiful and I can see the gloss varnish keeps paint on eyes and lips but what keeps the freckles from fading. And what is the life expectancy of this paint under normal wear and tear. Thanks for any information...
Hi! Before adding the gloss I sprayed the head with a final coat of Mr super clear. This makes sure all work like the freckles and drawing will be sealed completely and won't run off or be damaged with time, after adding the Mr super clear layer I added the gloss on-top. Hope that helps and sorry for any confusion!
I really want to thank you!! watch your video lots of time. because it was my inspiration for my own doll (frankie) And I say it turns ferry well. Thank you!!
Loved this tutorial it inspired me to start working on my own Custom. ... if you don't mind me asking I wanted to know if you knew the specific name of the Faber Castell water color pencil colors/shades that you showed in the video (the Peach, light brown, dark brown, and re-dish color)or the color number? If not, then what tin/set did you buy or recommend?
Hello! What do I do if I cannot get the pencil pigment to stick? I’ve done two layers of MSC and the blushing stage went perfectly fine. I’m using Faber Castell watercolor pencils. Is there a step I’m missing?
“If they were water color pencils I’d recommend dampening the tip of the pencil slightly, I just dip it into a wet sponge then roll the tip of the pencil on my hand to take off excess water. This will activate the paint in the pencil and will make it so it transfers onto the vinyl. Hope that helps!” ~ Etellan on a comment verrry far down lol
i don’t get any pigment when i draw faces and when i wet the top it’s very messy and too watery to draw properly. any suggestions? i’m new to doll repainting
Huh, is there a specific reason to do a full detailing in pencils before covering w acrylic? I started as a ttrpg mini hobbyist as a kid and moved on to higher art ed, and w both of those there's an emphasis on blocking large regions before fine details, so this reads as backwards to me!
Hii! Sorry it’s so late so it might not be of any help now but the answer is no u don’t need to put water on the pencil! The reason watercolor pencil is used instead of normal pencil is because the pigment shows up better on doll faces :D

well. Thank you!!
Hi amazing! do you use water with the waterpencils???
Are you setting the pencil? Because I’m not getting the same results and I started with Mr. Super clear too.
Do Prisma watercolor pencils work?

Ahh thank you for checking out my video!!
You don't seal the whole face at the end too?
Thank you. This is so cool!
Thank you for making this video the only thing from stopping me from doing doll customization is the toxicity of mr. Super clear😭
You can use Liquitex matte varnish & a sponge for that instead
