I completely agree with the ridiculousness of the censorship on TH-cam. The shell is amazing and it's sad that the top of the shell can't be seen! Great job
I agree. Can’t have what is actually art show any indecency, yet there’s half naked thot’s showing everything they have and it’s called “music” shoved down our throats. My parents didn’t even censor me half as much as what TH-cam does-ridiculous
I think I would have given her a g3 body. Maybe of draculaura. Because the depiction of venus is more curvy than the g1 dolls but she is great non the less
I kinda like getting to see the skinnier version as someone that’s skinnier it’s nice to know that’s it’s not just seen as being unhealthy but could be seen as being pretty, that might just be me though
@@gucci_hobo don't get me wrong. I am pretty thin myself and scratch on the edge of "unhealthy" but we have soooo much representation in art, fashion, society.
Ughhhh...yes! The frustration with having to cover my Artistic art decks on my TH-cam channel. I even have the Botticelli Tarot...and so many other decks with "nudes" just showing the beautiful aesthetic human body. Your shell is amazing! You just visualize it and it comes to life! Wow the silk drape 🤯
Oh my lawrd oh how I’ve missed you. College’s been taking up so much of my time I can barely watch you anymore. You’ve been the highlight of my days since I was 13 or 14, im 21 now. You’re one of the reasons i still pursue a creative path in life. Thank you for all that you are and the talent that you so selflessly share, keep doing what you’re doing. ❤️
Maryna: My Venus will be natural, no make-up.... Also Maryna: proceeds with giving Venus a smokey eye. Love it! You are a master, Maryna. The other doll re-makers here on the tube don't come close to your talent! ❤ from South Africa 🇿🇦
I love her artistry! I often feel like there's no need to make everything into a glamour doll. But, I know it's her signature and it's beautiful in and of itself.
When you sculpted the shell I wasn't expecting the end resilts. Omg you did that shell so realistic. You totally amaze me. Wow! That shell is a masterpiece all to itself.
I love The Birth of Venus. Such a beautiful painting and you made a great interpretation of her. I'd love if you did a whole series of dolls based on famous works of art or of famous female artists.
So happy to see an art history themed doll! There are so many potential dolls that could be made based on old paintings! Perhaps a Madam X doll? Or one of those big doll heads but as the Girl with the Pearl Earring? Anyway, love your take on Venus here!
Девушка с жемчужной серёжкой. Шоколадница. Девушки по произведениям Гюстава Климта. Или девушки по картинам художника Альфонса Мухи.. они такие чудесные))
She's absolutely beautiful! The clothing idea was genius and worked perfectly but I agree with you that it's ridiculous that TH-cam and many other platforms restrict and censor artists in the 21st century. A naked body isn't innately sexual.
Of course, your dedication to your craft shows in every doll you make - but I was especially blown away by the details on the shell and silk for this doll. Every time I thought "That looks good", you went back and added something to make it even better! And I enjoyed your creative (if frustrating) solution to the censorship issue - although the doll didn't "need" it, adding the silk cloth didn't take away either, and I love that you drew from the actual painting for it!
the glue pulling was extra satisfying with this frankie. The shell looks so amazing, the colors are perfect, and what a good stand solution. The eyes look extra pretty on her.
Once you did her eyes in that stunning light blue green color it reminded me of Michelle Pfeiffers look in god father young and beautiful. Beautifully done!
Loved the moment “I’ll give her a natural fresh looking make up” … *does latte smokie eyes*😂😅 Your work is as always amazing 👐❤️✨Venus is just stunning 💕
when i saw the finished doll, i immediately thought that she looked like abigail cowen that played dorcas on the chilling adventures of sabrina! beautiful doll!
Your hair is stunning in such a dark shade. ❤ & I love your Idea of doing the Greek gods and goddesses in doll repaints. I can't wait to see more! Its my birthday month so I look look forward to all march or Pisces style stuff that comes out along the way it tends to cheer me up.❤ Your work is amazing and beautiful to watch.
Love that you made her dress from the robe in the painting! SO clever. I know the rules are annoying, but you came up with a perfect solution-one that enhanced the whole project. Surprisingly, I like her better with her robe than without! Also, it was like you were painting silk for a kimono, too, the way you stretched it. Interesting West/East crossover, that! Would love to see more dolls from artwork! What a fun concept!
Beautiful doll, and the shell is gorgeous! I know, craft supplies are so expensive. I make jewelry, junk journals, and do dollhouses. I need a job to pay for my hobbies.
Love the Doll, love the shell, love the fabric. Personally, I would have preferred longer hair. If I were to purchase this doll (if I had the money) and display it at home, I would use the fabric draped as a side cape and her hair to cover and function as bikini.
she is exquisite! i think she may very well be the prettiest doll you've ever made, and i love how the shell turned out! i thought you were going to cover her with her hair, but i think your painted silk is a lovely homage to the original painting. :)
I can't believe it 😭 I JUST bought a very high quality and huge book about Sandro Botticelli, his paintings and the history of them. He's my favourite painter of all times. Birth of Venus and Primavera has always made me speechless bc how beautiful they are and how breathtaking Simonette is. Truly one of the most beautiful women to exist. I also have several replicas of the pieces in my home almost in every room and has always wanted to have something more physical to admire. I wish i had this doll, she is perfection and you work will never stop to amaze me.
The doll was beautiful. I think a G3 MH doll would have worked bettter since Boticelli's Venus was beautifully curvy (but understand if perhaps you didn't have any of those on hand as you seem to have quite a few of the gen 1 dolls), longer hair, and less fabric. The fabric didn't have to be an indecent amount but just that much fabric swallowed the doll. But it's easy for me to critique because I'm not the one making the doll (wish I had half of your talent). The opinions in this comment may not reflect those of anyone else in the comment section- ha! But as always I appreciate you sharing your time and talents with we mere plebians of the internet.
Agree. This doll is beautyful, but I would not have thought it was based on that painting. Botichellis Venus is more demure, imo, and could have been covered by her hair and the gold ribbon that is in the painting rather than draped in a large blanket. Still, I fully understand having to obey the content rules.
I adore the concept and the shell you made as well and bringing in that fabric was a great touch but I do feel like some of the colors saturation was a bit brighter and shinier than we typically associate with Venus. I think the only thing I would suggest is to powder the hair maybe? So that it has a bit more of a set in natural ginger color that blends with her other tones more but overall great video!
She is very beautiful, as usual, and especially that shell is so pretty! Your dolls are always works of art,. But you made a couple of decisions that surprise me, in this doll. The first is not choosing to use one of the new, curvy body types, because Venus is a voluptuous beauty and the new MH bodies offer that curviness. Secondly, using nylon hair when acrylic yarn would have given a much more convincing result as well as enable you to position it in such a way that it covers her nudity (which is insane. That you'd have to do that. Stupid TH-cam rules!) I think the cloak is a very clever and elegant solution, but I don't really get Botticelli's Venus vibes. More modern model in a shell vibes. Again, she's lovely, but she could be even lovelier!
I mean, she's the artist. It's her art and her vision. There's not right or wrong. If I don't like what I see, instead of complaining, I do my own thing.
@@storiesthatneverwere800 I'm not complaining. I'm giving my opinion. I don't mean to be hypercritical, mainly because I've been following this channel pretty much from the start and I'm in awe about what Poppenatelier has created and still creates. If the epoxy is so expensive maybe you could try the sort of clay in Action. I suppose you can do something very similar but cheaper. Very beautiful and modern Venus.
That was masterfully done. The skin on her face looks like porcelain and she is just flat-out beautiful. I don't collect dolls but this one tempts me, greatly.
