Wig Basics - How to Make a Wig for Art Dolls and Sculpts / OOAK

  • Hey everyone! My supporters voted for Wig Basics series for OOAK dolls, BJD, sculptures etc. This is the third video of the series. This time I will show you how I make the wigs for my art projects. I have two ways of creating them as a base for further styling that I show in this video.
    I hope the series will help you if you have troubles in making wigs. I know I had when I first started making wigs and the whole series got inspired from that. Send me likes and comments if you like the series and thank you so much! xo

    I could never figure out how you do part lines and you know what? Until you said there was a glue dot I couldn't even see it! Incredibly delicate work!

      I started customising a while ago- I just finished my 4th doll- you can improve your skills really quickly. Or just keep practicing on one doll as a base! Hairspray works well as a first coat as instead of msc. Just don’t use it on top of your work or it’ll come off!
      Hope this helped 😊

    Доброго времени Вам! Спасибо за удивительный ролик! Он просто замечательный! Смотрю его, когда нужно собраться для точной и тонкой работы: шитье, парики или модификация. Очень помогает Ваша аккуратность сгруппироваться для удара и сделать хорошо миниатюрную работу. Кроме того, ролик содержит массу полезной информации. Приятно посмотреть и просто так,чтобы отдохнуть. Очень спокойно и уютно сделано. Еще и еще раз спасибо за работу. С уважением и признательностью Ирина.

    how did you make the stand? the one that's holding the head up. I saw there was a metal stick and a base

    • @MariaLazarsArt
      @MariaLazarsArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh I didn't make that stand, it is actually a doll stand with a metal ring that I just pulled out. The head is actually sitting on a sculpting tool. 🤭

  • @VladVirn

    Very useful lesson, thank you! But why is yours wefts have so narrow "belts"? I bought several brands of wefts, and they all have pretty thick "belt" (piece of cloth to which hairs are attached). So after gluing on small head it looks not so pretty as yours.

    • @MariaLazarsArt
      @MariaLazarsArt  ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Is that silicone glue?

    • @MariaLazarsArt
      @MariaLazarsArt  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you mean the clear that is an all purpose permanent transparent glue. It does look a bit like silicone. For an example UHU are decent. Depending what is available to you I find it easier searching "all purpose clear/transparent glue". I find it so difficult getting a specific brand and there are so many other, hence the reason I prefer giving the description of the materials. ☺✌

      No unfortunately, if water reaches the wig cap it will loosen the glue. I have had to wash finished wigs previously but only from the half way down and trying not to reach the cap.
