Quick tip for your floor that I did to my Starcraft. Get some type of sealant like Thompson's & seal it. Then go to Harbor Freight and get some bedliner & cover the wood. The wood won't rot out for a VERY LONG time! Cool little boat!

The boat was great for low wind and cove/ponds. I would not recommend it as a lake boat or fishing in a breeze. I’ve since sold this Pelican to fund my current boat project. Good luck and have fun fishin, thanks Anthony

Good setup. I've had 1 several years. I converted a used sea doo trailer. 30lb minnkota on the front. 2.5hp 4 stroke Tohatsu on the back. Costs more but better I think. Check out a foot control from Troll King. Converts your troll motor from hand to foot control. Caught my personal best because I was able to chase him around with the foot control. No, I'm not a sponsor. Ordered it on line. Really like them. Cost 150 bucks though.

Sweet set-up, and we know it'll hold two fat boys easily. Glad the weather next week is looking better to get out and get more serious about tracking down some fish.

The scupper hole - it's up off the water so I'm pretty sure unless you have the thing half sunk nothing is coming in.

I believe I used a paddle bit sized for the connector. I ran the hose connection side down. I used sealant on both parts that touch the boat. I cut off the excess connector. Hope this helps.
Great video. I have a similar set up. I have a Buster boat with the 2.5hp mercury motor. I like the idea of a battery box. Where are you located and what lakes do you fish?

I am getting ready to get a bass raider, and have thoroughly enjoyed watching your videos, especially the ones about the trailer. I don't know that I will be that ambitious when I do my trailer, but you have definitely inspired me! Question, were you able to sort out how to make the engine run smoother? If so, what was the solution? I have been considering getting that same for mine. Also, where did you get the seats?
Hi Jack. I haven’t dealt with the vapor lock issue. I’ve heard it is an lean/rich screw under the lid.
If I had it to do all over again, I would get an old 4-6 horse Evinrude or Mercury.

at 6:38, while you're showing the 1/2" adapter for your anchor light, what is the larger PVC adapter that you have installed in the rear cup holder?
Hi Jack, that is my post mount for my GoPro camera. I mount a GoPro to a 3ft 3/4 pvc pipe and stick the pipe in that mount.

Great video man! How's the stability? Are you able to lean over the side to lip a fish without worry of capsizing?
Stability is good for its size. No problem with lipping a fish. You have to be reasonably cautious when moving front to back. I no longer have the Pelican. I sold it to fund the boat I’m currently restoring and modifying. Thanks for watching

I’m having a hard time finding the type of plug that goes into the front of the boat, the one your trolling motor is plugged into. Any chance you still have a name and part number.

I found a 3 pin plug for the trolling motor but it comes with 10 gauge wire. Is that the plug that you are using?
I sold the pelican to finance another boat project. I’m not sure what it had.

It has a hesitation that might be an air/fuel adjustment, but I’m not happy with it and do not recommend it.
Didn't show how you went through the two hull layers for the rear drain/scupper. Or what part was used, how it was sealed.
Used a paddle bit that would allow an Atwood 3/4 inch thru hull connector with a sealant on both the bottom and top parts

I’ve tried to find it myself and haven’t had any luck. It must have been a lucky deal for me at the time.
When you put the plug in was there anything like styrofoam where you put the drain plug??? And how did it hold up???
I honestly don’t remember, but I never had a drop come into the boat. I sealed it from both sides.

That foot pedal is worth its weight in gold when you are lure fishing. It was one of the most important features on the boat. It allowed me to only worry about steering. I highly recommend it.
How safe for a raised floor
Just bought my bass raider was wanting to know if you know the dimensions of your deck for the floor

How shallow can it go? I know the weight limit is 600, have you ever tried going a little bit over ? One more question, if I sit that on a utility cart, would it be heavy to push around ?
I never had it in too shallow water. I have no idea how much it will handle. I did have myself, brother, motors, battery etc.
Where did you get the rollers for the trailer
I drilled a drain on mine, and now it gets water into the hull ! U have the lift it up and drain it out the front drain! The boat is laminated so u must put silicone in between the two layers wen u drill hole!
I put sealant on both parts of the drain connection. I had no issues. Good luck with yours.
Do you travel with the motors on the boat
Rear motor, yes, trolling in the floor under the seats.
How did you fasten the velcro to the boat?
The Velcro was peel and stick. 2”, got it at Home Depot

The bow receptacle in the Bass Raider accepts a "trolling motor" type plug and can be connected to whatever 12V device you need powered.
How well do they run in rivers?
Never had it on a River. It would have to be slow moving water.
How did you install the drain?
You buy them pretty cheap at Academy Sports. Just drill a hole a little bigger than the drain stem, then thread the parts together. Thanks Alberto

I did fine with me(190) and my brother(220) in the Pelican with our gear and motors. But, I’m not sure I would test the edges with 369. Your best bet is to test one before you buy.
Hey, I just noticed this was about the pelican bass raider. I had no issue with the weight. I can’t speak for how much you and your wife may load the boat. The boats are fairly stable side to side for what they are, but i would not overload them the same way you might a typical boat.
But how did you secure the trolling motor when you were driving?
So far with gravity.

It’s big and heavy. It just lays in the floor. My best guess is to secure down a Velcro strap that in the middle that would be under the chair when in fishing position.

How do you get power to you fish finder?
I ran wiring under the carpeted board to the battery.

I spliced in speaker wire and added kremp on rings that fit the battery bolts.

Actually, there was nothing on that boat I didn’t use or consider useful. I wanted a ready to go as possible boat that could travel as much as possible.
No wonder you aren't happy with the motor - your channel is the 'billof rights' and all but you have a cheap chinesium motor.l
